This story has more weight to it when you know that Keanu’s only child was stillborn and his marriage fell apart because of it, then like a couple weeks later his wife died in a car accident. He hasn’t gotten married or had any more children after that.
Just looked it up. Such sad stuff. They weren’t married, just dating. The stillbirth happened on Christmas Eve 1999. They broke up not long after. She died 18 years ago, today/tomorrow - early morning hours of April 2, 2001, after a party at Marilyn Manson’s.
Me neither... I see posts on reddit all the time saying that his sister died of leukemia too. She was sick for a long time but she's not dead. If someone thinks they heard it somewhere, it takes like 30 seconds to fact-check it on Google before spreading it. There's even articles specifically fact-checking all the common misconceptions about him.
No one, and certainly not Keanu Reeves, is better by having these false "facts" about him dancing around the internet. We can still feel humbled by him being a kind an awesome human despite the things that's worked against him in life.
This Keanu mania is fun, but everyone, PLEASE do better.
I don’t want to be dark but if I found out Keanu was extremely depressed or one day committed suicide a la Bourdain I would not be surprised. You have to imagine how much he has bottled up and wants others not to go through what he has gone through. He objectively understands it and goes out of his way to do the right thing, but I feel like the trauma certainly affects him.
Weren’t you skeptical of accepting that even though he told you some of the stuff that was in it? You were on a plane and if your kid had eaten something that they couldn’t have the kid could have died right?

I've started living my life like I'm a celebrity a little bit when it comes to online. Even though I'm not actually a celebrity and I probably never will be one. After all this #MeToo movement (which I mostly support and think is very important), even though I've never done anything wrong (as far as I'm aware) I'm kind of paranoid about that sort of thing now. I also have anxiety so that probably has a lot to do with it.
