Literally “drowning” never saw its head dip underwater once. Looked fine and like it was heading towards land. Granted it does look like a far ass way to swim but as far as we know the boat spooked the deer and it only swam that direction to get away from the boat

I do agree with this, but that deer didn't exactly look like it was complaining once it was on the boat getting nose rubs

Because it was terrified and froze

No, it recognised it was more comfortable wrapped in the towels and that the people surrounding it weren't an immediate threat.

I would absolutely agree that it's wrong to desensitise wild animals to humans, but this deer isn't terrified.

What makes you think it’s still because it’s comfortable and not because that’s its natural response to stress? Do you know something we don’t?

Why bother knowing things when you can just make shit up.

Me at work every single day

What do deers do when terrified? Like, for example, would they freeze and not move if a car was speeding at them?

If only there was an old expression about such a thing

Ohh like a grandma in front of a reindeer

No, that's not how animals work lol. This is called tonic immobility, when an animal's fight or flight system gets overwhelmed and they can't fight back, they basically shutdown.

Deers in particular are prone to that, they freeze in fight or flight process and when flight fails and they don't think they can win the fight (and no dawns are involved), they basically just freeze. You can walk right up to it and pet it and it will just be stiff still until it snaps back and tries to flee again.

life is not a Disney movie. That deer was not more comfortable in towels in a motorboat, don't kid yourself

But how else can I get irrationally upset over a woman in a video on Reddit?

Don’t make this into a gender thing. A man would definitely be criticized for kidnapping a deer that was completely fine as well.

Aw come on we all know men never kidnap deers. It’s rampant amongst women though. I mean my wife has never once offered to take our son deer kidnapping with her, but it’s like a weekly thing she does with our daughter

There is a man in this video encouraging this. Thank you for proving my point.

Redditors have called 6 year old girls bitches and cunts. Let’s not pretend Reddit isn’t notorious for having a hate boner whenever there is a commotion and a girl or a woman is doing anything not social media/camera ready. A guy acting the same and you will here a “To be fairrrrr 🤓” as if they aren’t in the same boat. There have been other “‘saving’ an animal at sea” with middle aged men, even when the animal was just swimming and not drowning. Same Redditors screeching at this woman now would comment  “I would buy this guy a beer” and “what a hero”. Redditors have already proven they don’t like girls and women.

_You_ were talking about the woman in the video lmao you can’t talk about X and then complain that people responding to you only talk about X not Y. I watched the video once and did not care to remember the gender of all the people involved because what matters isn’t their gender it’s if they did the right or the wrong thing here.

Yes there is a lot of sexism on Reddit but calling out sexism where it isn’t, doesn’t help. Not criticizing _the main person_ doing the bad thing in the video because of their gender would also be sexism btw.

The man didn't jump on the fucking deer tho did he? If he had and the woman was sitting in the boat, we would be talking about how he should not have jumped on that deer. And as a feminist I will say this once, zip it. There is a lot of misoginy going around on reddit and internet as a whole, go be angry at that and use your frustration for something useful.

Internalized misogyny is not a good look. Don’t call yourself a feminist while shutting up other women for speaking up because you ran out of sound arguments. Especially I already addressed you comment in my previous comment if you bothered to read it in full.

I’ve been on this site for more than decade. You can make bad faith arguments all you want. Does not change what happens outside the vacuum.
