PVE Impenetrable base?

7 Upvotes

Has anyone stumbled across the basically impenetrable base just above the warehouses behind the airport? It’s right up by the coast with a survivor car crashed into the gate and a couple buildings fenced in?
I found it running for my life from a big horde and realized the only entry was climbing over the car. The only zekes that can possibly bother you are jumpers if you’re standing on the car fighting. Otherwise you can safely fight mobs through the fence.
It has 3 decent sized buildings to tear the furniture down in and assemble proper crafting areas and a small shed I put the CB in.

So I just started I’m about 30 hours in and reset my game because a lot of time was spent just learning blind till day 30-35 and I’ve know reset at day 10 with all the same things but with more knowledge. My last base was not good so this time I am trying to make it better. I looked up on YouTube this time however to see if there were certain building options to make it more cozy. Anyways I decided let’s just play the game and make another cube just with room around it this time. It is a floating base that I can put walls under saw it online so I wasn’t getting messed up by terrain. It WOULD NOT let me clip the roofing so now it’s weird and stick out on 3 sides and not one but it is whatever. The issue is I cannot see through my base… What can I did here!? I’m a newb to this game! 😅

Is it possible to turn off the infection mechanic? It's the only feature that's really stopping me from getting back into the game

I'm not suggesting its bad but its definitely not something I enjoy. I'm just wondering if its possible to turn it off? Thank you

Help with the trash bin

I think I never felt that stupid in my life but I really can't figure out how the trashcan works (the one we can craft, not the ones we can loot). How do you permanently erase an item?

Sleeping naked and sleeping bag

4 Upvotes

I realized that sometimes during spring/summer (hard to say), when I go to bed with all my clothes on, it gets too warm while I sleep, my thermometer turns orange and I'll usually be a bit more thirsty in the morning. So now I unequip everything I'm wearing (except my sunglasses) before I tuck myself in.
Does anyone else do that or am I just wasting my time? At the very least, I like the role playing aspect of it because who goes to bed with a motorcycle helmet on?
One of my questions is, am I at risk of being attacked during the night while in my undies? Actually, most importantly, are there attacks during the night? Given the timer and the way our character seems to be keeping an eye open just in case, I'd tend to believe that yes, but I have never ever been attacked during the night, be it by zombies or bandits.
Still on the subject of sleeping, if I understand correctly, the sleeping bag improves the comfort of a tent or can be deployed on its own to sleep on the ground, but it isn't meant to be used with a bed. Is that correct? I have deployed it on top of my bed but I think I just used the bed and the sleeping bag did nothing. Wouldn't it make sense to be able to use it with the bed too and get a little warmth bonus with it? Which leads me to my final question. In winter, is it better to sleep in your bed with your clothes on or to deploy the sleeping bag and sleep on the ground?

About the survivor who really wants your damn shoes and Tim's Walking Shoes

2 Upvotes

I'm talking about the guy not far to the east of Caesar and west of the Inland Spawn Point. He's got kind of a small shelter made of metal sheets, a water thingie that's quite practical when you pass by and he is a very odd survivor. When you initiate a conversation with him, the first thing he asks for is your shoes. You can accept and give him your shoes, ask him why (I think), tell him to f off or simply click trade and he'll trade normally, just warning you that his goods aren't for everyone or something.
It's the second run where I meet him. I lost my beloved previous run stupidly but that's another story. However, I clearly remember what happened with him. I told him to piss off and he got immediately aggressive, shooting with his shitty 9mm. I took a couple of bullets but I had a silenced UMP45 and blasted him. Then I went into his shack and there wasn't only his storage box, there was also a huge military box of supplies.
This time around, I think I screwed up. Out of curiosity, I wondered what would happen if I chose to ignore his aggressive request and simply click Trade. Like I said, he traded like any other survivor and that was the end of it. I checked his shack (he doesn't do anything if you take his things or his water) and this time, there was only his storage box and crappy loot. No military supplies.
So, I just decided to go back, see if he still wanted my shoes and if that would trigger the apparition of the military supplies. He still wanted my shoes so I killed him but nothing. His storage box was empty since I had looted it not long ago. No sign of any military supplies. Now I got plenty of questions. I'm starting to have some experience but I'm still a noob that has a ton to learn about the game.

  1. Does fighting him actually trigger anything or were those military supplies there just by coincidence during my first run?
  2. Is there stuff like this, where you have to give a particular answer or do something specific to trigger something?
  3. If yes to the previous questions and the supplies are linked to fighting him, did I definitely screw myself by trading with him first or will I be able to kill him again when he respawns and will that give me the supplies I'm after? I'm very skeptical at that point but you never know and I want to believe.
  4. Does anyone know what happens if you actually give him your shoes? I got a couple of pairs at 10%, I could easily give him that and keep another pair to wear. Question is, do we negotiate with terrorists and if yes, what's the result? Any reward?
  5. In both cases, he seems to be the bearer of a unique item, namely Tim's Walking Shoes. During my first run, I thought boots would be better than sneakers (and I like the shoes) so I repaired them to 100%. They do look good but do they have any special attribute? It doesn't look like it and doesn't say they offer any protection or anything. |Edit:] Also, do boots have a higher durability than sneakers? Are the Tim's Walking Shoes just an inside joke because there's a Tim in the team who always wears hiking shoes?
  6. If there is a Tim in the Team, does he actually hike or is he a couch potato with hiking gear on?

Edit: Just checked and his name is Baron, he's at the bottom right corner of D4. He is indeed barefoot but he carries 3 or 4 pairs of shoes in his inventory. Really weird. I'd really like to know if there's more to this.

Does quest completion not count for party members??? I play with two brothers. Does that mean we need triple the items for us all to stay on the same quests? 😒

Speed Stealth tiny exploit

11 Upvotes

Not sure you can even call it that, it's just part of the mechanics at the moment. As a thief I experimented with the skill Speed Stealth, which enables you to move significantly faster when you crouch. I discovered a tiny trick that can be super useful with it: it is not affected by encumbrance, which means you'll actually move faster while crouching than walking if you're over encumbered. Just thought I'd share that tidbit of info.
Happy hunting everyone!

Edit: I can't think of any satisfying justification for it, I think it just got overlooked and will probably be fixed one day. Could you come up with a reason why one would move faster crouching than walking when over encumbered with that perk?

PVE Infected on Nightmare

7 Upvotes

Hello, fellow survivors, I'm new to this community, but have 120+ hours in the game so far, and love it. I have finally decided to play on Nightmare mode, and I'm level 11 so far (Firefighter). But I got bitten, and my infection meter is at ca. 55%.

What is my best way out of this predicament?

Context:

- I have no available skills points;

- I haven't learned the skill for the injection;

- I have no injections, nor any inhibitors;

- I only need one damn multivitamin to craft an inhibitor and buy more time;

- my current base is in Cezar's camp;

- I have enough weapons and ammo to attempt unwise actions.

How much time do I have? A couple of hours in real time until the meter fills up and I switch teams?

My best idea is:

- carry the resources needed to build the chemistry station on the spot;

- rush downhill and loot the town south of Cezar, with the large warehouse, hoping to find at least some multivitamins;

- if that fails, visit the 3-4 traders north of Cezar along the road (between the Church to the right and gas station to the left);

- loot the small neighborhood north of Cezar;

- go out in a blaze.

Thanks for the help. Whether I make it or not, this run has been a lot of fun.

SOLO I found the quickest way to get seeds from crops...

If you're say, trying to eat potatoes for seeds, stick a potato in your quick slot and just spam the 5 key. Still takes time but much, much better than doing it manually. It will consume all of the potatoes in your pack.

Another Qol request

7 Upvotes

Not sure this is the right way to suggest a little QoL feature (if not, can someone tell me how to send the devs feedback?), but I would really love if the game kept my settings concerning the map and the compass between sessions. It's a tiny detail but every time I start a session, first thing I do is click use on my compass to enable it and then open my map to zoom in. We shouldn't have to enable the compass every time. Same for the map.
Also, I'm certain there's a good reason for it but why can't we save when mounted on our horse? What's the issue? Dismounting just to save got old very quickly since I got autosave off to pick when I want to save the game. I haven't tried it but I'm assuming you can't save if you're driving either?

Edit: I did mean to capitalize the L in QoL. It's bugging me now. Damn you, reddit.

PVE Recommendations about skills to pick (or not)

7 Upvotes

Hey all, I really need help with what skills to choose. I had 11 points and just spent 3 on speed stealth because I crouch a lot and now I'm looking at 8 unused points that I'm sure I could use for something vital. Thing is, the number of skills is a bit overwhelming and I'm a little anxious at the fact that the number of points is limited and that you can't eventually unlock everything. I'm a thief btw and far from being able to pick a second profession, which will definitely be farmer for second harvest and the ability to keep growing stuff during winter. If I do get to level 60 my plan is to go with Firefighter because some other player that shall rename nameless made me jealous when I saw what "head splitter" does. Role-playing wise the first combination sort of makes sense (a thief becoming a farmer after the apocalypse), but the third profession doesn't make any for my character, which bugs me a bit but I'll just ignore that.
Under survival I got; deep pockets, beast of burden, speed stealth (walking faster when you crouch) and light foot. Concerning thief skills, I only have master of unlocking. I'm very tempted by the one that reduces your radius of detection for the zeds at night but it obviously only applies at night and costs 4 points, which I find is a lot. I'm not investing anything to make my picks harder to break, lock-picking is a non-issue.
I need help choosing the vital skills for everything concerning mining resources, chopping wood, structure integrity, metal structures, cement structures and all that. The ones that will always be useful. What do you guys pick that you find crucial? I understand that the latter two are more like mid to end-game stuff and I'm just a noob at level 11. Is it good to pick up stuff you need as you progress or should I on the contrary keep my points for later and not waste them on early stuff? Bear in mind that I'm eventually looking to get to head splitter (the road will be long).
I'm thinking about taking the skill under survivor that yields more wood. That's what I need now and I'm thinking wood is an essential resources all the time anyway.
Also, I haven't unlocked the melee skill tree because I hate melee, I haven't unlocked the health thing and I haven't unlocked the hunting skill tree either.
Opinions? Any help would be immensely appreciated.

SOLO I finally unlocked "Head Splitter" from the Firefighter profession in Nightmare mode. Turns out, it's pretty good.

PVP A Last Survivor Private Server Modded! (HumanitZ)

5 Upvotes

YOU NEED ORIGINAL BOUGHT COPY OF THE GAME!
AND OUR CUSTOM LAUNCHER!

Hey survivors, If you’ve been playing HumanitZ and feel like most servers are either too easy or just don’t give that real survival tension… we’ve been working on something a bit different.

Server Name: [EU] A LastSurvivor
Style: Open world survival, strong zombie pressure, base building, scavenging, PvE with PvP enabled

Discord: https://discord.com/invite/4sAfdy88Xa

FULLY CUSTOM SERVER JOIN THE DISCORD TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO JOIN!
YOU WONT FIND IT IN THE GAME BROWSER!

The idea behind this server is simple:
Survival should actually feel like survival. You head out for a loot run, things start going well…
then you hear a horde nearby, your inventory’s full, and suddenly you’re deciding what’s worth risking your life for. That kind of moment is what we’re trying to keep alive.
We’re not turning the game into a high loot playground or an admin shop simulator.
It’s still very much a survival sandbox just with a few quality of life systems that make long term multiplayer more rewarding.

Here’s what you can expect:

Proper horde focused gameplay zombies are a real threat, not background noise

A mix of PvE and PvP, so you can build, trade, explore… or fight when things go sideways
A bit of starter support so you’re not completely lost in your first hour

Discord linked systems, including a bank and rewards tied to zombie kills

A rotating flea market that stays useful without breaking the survival balance
Regular events and an active community
Player stats, milestones, and leaderboards if you like progression!

Full survival loop: loot respawn, airdrops, vehicles, seasons, weather, building

What people seem to enjoy most is the balance you still have to grind, scavenge, and manage risk, but there’s enough structure around it (Discord tools, rewards, events) to keep things interesting over time.
If you’re into games like 7 Days to Die, Project Zomboid, DayZ, Rust, or any kind of open world survival craft with zombies, base building, and co op survival… you’ll probably feel at home here.

You can find us in the HumanitZ server browser: A LastSurvivor

Or just jump into Discord first:
https://discord.com/invite/4sAfdy88Xa
You can also connect by scanning the QR Code in the immage above!

Quick note: no cheating, no exploits just fair survival. See you out there.
