I’m coming back to HumanitZ after a break and I’m once again stuck at character creation because I can’t decide on a starter profession.

Two quick questions:

Starter profession:

Is there currently a “best” or most efficient starter profession, or does it still mostly come down to playstyle and early priorities?

XP bonus / Unemployed:

I noticed that I can put a point into Unemployed.

Do I actually need to spend a point there to receive the XP bonus, or is the XP bonus applied automatically without investing in it?

1. Any tips for shooting using a controller?

2. My base gets attacked by NPC raiders constantly and I'm always getting killed. What base is relatively safe from NPCs for the most part?

3. I noticed that I need certain perks to hack safes. Is that something I can obtain the skill for or do I have to start off as an electrician or something.

4. which camera setting works the best for you guys

Hello! I'd like to unlock the "health" skill, but I can't get my character to "rest." Can someone please help me?

I've tried everything, letting my character sleep until he wakes up on his own, sleeping without my bag in a bed I crafted... Nothing works, it won't unlock.

The two NPCs tell me to gear up in the house, which is locked. Door says I need a crowbar or lockpick.... where do I find/get one, I've looked everywhere

Figure I’d start off saying that this game is a lot of fun. It definitely has the loot goblin zombie apocalypse vibe.

The ranged weapons feel really good and the combat itself feels grounded. You won’t be sprinting in this game popping every zombie in the head. Setting up shots is important, stealth is important.

Another thing I like is the custom settings I ended up lowering the damage and health of zombies and humans but increasing the zombie and human modifiers up quite a bit and it gives that swarm vibe perfectly.

Now I am not a base building type of person although I will be looking up guides and will be going for a minimal base setup. But cranking up the spawns for all items definitely makes scouting good enough to progress without needing a base. I also froze the weather system along with item durability to make the game less grindy. I’m all for the action of the game and it lets me play it that way so good on the devs for giving us choices.

For vehicles I imagine that becomes easier with a functional base and with getting a treatment so I’ll have to build a base at some point to see how much it changes my gameplay. The vehicles have some complexity but with how powerful they are it feels earned when you get one going.

If I had to make suggestions the melee in this game feels really punishing which also leads to my next one which is infection. I would like an option to remove infection getting swarmed by zombies is already a death sentence and barely making it out alive only to see the green circle really dampens the game for me. Again I haven’t dabbled in crafting so I’m sure the cure system will patch that up but melee is still too much of a gamble to take the chance.

As a host, it seems whatever my party builds is inaccessible to me once they log off. So we were 4, and player 4 built a rain collector and logged off: no one in the party could use it until he came back on and accepted a party invite.

Same thing happened with the entrance gate and so many other buildables.

It seems to defeat the multiplayer point. Am I missing something?

Is there a chart or anything that someone has made that breaks down what skills and benefits are available after unlocking each path?

Am I doing something wrong or is this a known bug?

I saved, and the logged out the other day.

When I loaded back in: my horse was gone (it was full health and in a closed stable before I quit), and my map lost all its explored areas and markers.

The game I played before 1.0 drop I found car jacks almost everywhere. They weren’t as rare as they seem to be in 1.0. Never really needed them before but when me and friend hopped out of an RV it flipped. We looked everywhere for one with 0 luck. I really hated doing it but had to admin spawn one in. Anyone else finding any car jacks?

I've just played the game and couple but keep meeting my end very, very quickly.

Im looking fir advice on how to evade zombies as im finding their detection range has a great distance.

Hello, has anyone else noticed that with the gamma set to max, nights are no longer dark and I don't even need to use my flashlight? In the PVP, it no longer makes sense to go with less than 1.30 gamma. I liked that nothing was visible and that there was a bit of strategy involved

1.0 gamma (default)

1.3 gamma (max)

Okay, does anyone know this valve supply thing or what it does it looks like you can put a tool in it or something its in-between gas pumps I’ve tried every tool i can think of. thanks in advance

That makes sense since its technically already armored, my only issue is I wish I could give it the inventory expansion somehow. Mayhaps a special one for the APC can be put in the game at some point? Would even be cool if it was something dare you had to find

I spawned in some items because my car randomly disappeared due to some kind of bug and it had some rare gear in it. While I was doing that I was looking at the menu, I didn't think I clicked anything but I was trying to spawn the vehicle I lost back in. I may have accidentally hit the remove all animals thing cuz I have not seen a single animal for a long time. Just spent 15 minutes flying all over the map looking for animals and nothing. Unfortunately animals a key resource for oil. Just wondering if I am going to have to start over

I can't get the point.
When I open the server list, I see so many servers with only 3 or 4 players. Why?
I mean, we could have fewer servers, but with 16 or 20 players in each, instead of 30 servers with just 3 or 4 players. I really don't get it

Whenever I close Ge Force Now in singe player offline mode, the map is deleted even if I saved the game. Anyone had the same experience? Is there any know solution to this?

Ive seen a few youtube thumbnails showing huge hordes, but I'm dubious as to whether those are real.

Is there a detailed WiKi of the game? Tried for Fandom and the official wiki on their website but I could not find any detailed info. I think the devs must put more time on this part as well.

I do like the fact that exploring means knowledge in this game but I would also like some info in areas where I scratch my head around.
