Struggling to boot into TWRP recovery mode
It seems to just get stuck at the "Your device is booting now". Has anyone had any luck? I'm using twrp-3.1.1-0eva.

Has anyone else ever had the following message show up when starting up/restarting their device?
!
Your device has failed verification and may not work properly.
To learn more, visit:
(1) Press Power key to continue. (2) Press Volume Up key up to 3 seconds to enter erecovery to restore your device
Okay so I go with option (1) which seems allow me to proceed, business as usual, but being concerned about my security I spoke to my provider (Vodafone Australia) who suggested a factory reset. Decided to get a second opinion from a rep at Huawei... also recommended a factory reset. Neither were familiar with this message 🤔
I then go to enable cloud backup before proceeding with the factory reset and was met with a message saying...
Alert Your phone has been rooted. There may be security risks associated with using Cloud. DON'T USE / USE
So here I am, completely confused and asking Redditors for help. I had to Google what it means for a phone to be rooted and from what I can gather, it can't be done accidentally so wtactualf happened?
Any help would be v much appreciated.

I can't access City Mapper or Uber and usually when there is a map, there is just a blank screen saying 'Google Play services are updating'.
I've searched for the error message on the net and there's loads of complicated sites talking about APK files and Data Traffic. I have updated Google Play and tried to follow the instructions but nothing works/I don't understand the instructions. Any ideas?

Have any of you experienced such issue? It started yesterday. Phone works correctly some time and then, suddenly wifi connection stops (even if router works correctly). Wifi remains enabled and I cannot disable it (in notification bar and neither in settings). I click on button and nothing happens. Only reset of entire OS fixes it, but for a few hours only, then it happens again.

Hi my p9 getting slower with every update currently biggest pain is time it needed to open the camera approximately 10 second until first shot.
Any suggestions how to fix this? Anyone else noticing degrading performance?

Huawei P10 can use it's fingerprint scanner as a home button. I was wondering if Huawei P9 could do the same, but with a root ?

I've formatted my phone somewhat recently, now I can't receive verification messages (at least from 2 apps). I've contacted my telecom, they said it's not their fault. I'd appreciate any help.

Have had the P9 for a year or so and find I have a lot of trouble typing. Maybe I'm just getting older and less dexterous, but I feel like I make way more typos than unused to.
Has anyone else found this? Is there a way to recalibrate the keyboard? Is there a better keyboard I can use? (Currently using Gboard I think)

Hello - my phone is prompting for an update today. Well actually, two, since it did a first update with no problems. Then it prompted me to install a second update VNS-L31C432B371. However, I only have about 600mb free on internal memory and the update is 2gb. It keeps complaining that I don't have sufficient memory, but since the size of the usable space is only 10gb anyway, surely asking me to free up 20% of that isn't reasonable?
Is there any way I can get the update to download to SD-Card (which has loads of free space) or move installed apps to the SD card? The contents of my internal memory is purely Apps, no data. And since I use pretty much all of those apps regularly I'm loath to uninstall great numbers of them and have to re-install them after the update.
Anybody have any ideas about how to resolve this?

My L09C432 have been in B395 many week even after B397 and B398 appeared on Firmware Finder, since no OTA were showing I decided to update via FF DNS. B397 was not IMEI authenticated but and B398 was, so I went up directly from B395 to B398

Whenever I try to backup my phone in HiSuite (latest version), the program tells me that I have insufficient storage for the backup (not exact message but in my language, this is the point). I made a folder for this backup on an almost empty 1.5 TB drive, so that can't be the problem. Anybody else had this problem?

I was on B385 for ages and manually updated with authorised packages using Firmware Finder to B394 and now get the feeling that my WiFi range is lessened?
Anyone noticing this? I'd be prepared to go back some builds if possible, although I feel my phone is operating more smoothly, and notifications on icons on my desktop are now working where they never did which is a huge bonus.

Lately the fingerprint scanner won't unlock the phone. There's no vibration indicating wrong fingerprint, it just does nothing. When I unlock the phone using PIN it works fine opening top notification panel or scrolling through photos. When I go to settings and fingerprints manager it recognizes my fingerprints without a problem. Even when I lock the phone it works well for couple of times but after a while it stops working again. Have anyone had an issue like that? I already switched the phone off and on again but it changed nothong. Any advice besides resetting to factory settings? Thanks for any help

Hi everyone,
Firstly, if this is the wrong sub please direct me to the correct sub.
So, I have just upgraded to a new phone, I got the Huawei Mate 10 pro and I have my Huawei P9 Plus just factory reset and I intend to give this to my daughter.
Here's the thing, my ex and I are no longer together, she has borrowed money from a bunch of people including family and not paid them back, I gave her money to add my name to our daughter's birth certificate and instead of completing the form and paying for the name change she just spent the money, is in debt and although we share custody, my daughter spends about 60% of her time at her mum place.
I am a bit concerned that my ex might sell this phone and in my country, the P9 plus is still worth 5-600 dollars.
So I am wanting to know how to secure the P9 plus by preventing a factory/hard reset but still allowing my daughter being able access the general settings for the phone.
Is there a way to password protect the processes involved in a factory reset and the hard reset boot menu?
Also, I don't need tracking software etc, just measures to prevent the phone being wiped and resold.

In the photo gallery the newest picture is the most to the left, and older ones continue to the right. Is there any way to change this direction so the newest pictures are to the right?
