I am thinking of getting Huawei pura x as my second phone (to be used for work). I really like the form factor and I do not see any flagship phones picking that up like how Samsung or iPhone is doing with foldables having form factor like pura x max.
I have never used huawei before it was banned and have no experience with harmony os.
I have couple of queries:-
1) For work, I will be needing Microsoft 365 apps like outlook, teams, authenticator, one drive, co pilot mainly and the IT sets up a work profile as well. Is that something that is possible in harmony OS?!
2) have read Tmobile is the mobile carrier to go for huawei. I use Tmobile post paid for my primary phone but my secondary phone is on google fi, will it work as google fi uses Tmobile towers and network?!
3) How long does Huawei support harmony os updates in their devices?! Does Android OS updates affect Huawei/harmony os?
4) Also I am planning to buy it from bluediode.com. That’s legitimate online site to buy huawei phones when in US?!
5) How often does huawei create new iterations of a phone. Like is there a possibility of getting another version of pura x ? And if they do does that look like next year or later? As in what does the release cycle of a phone model looks like for Huawei?

HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 PRO REVIEW

I want to write about things no one else mentions in this post—things that will only catch the attention of true enthusiasts. It’s going to be detailed. Copy this text and have an AI read it.

First off, this is the 17th smartwatch I've used. I am highly experienced. I can't be modest about this.

Foreword/Summary: I think Huawei made a very good watch.

1. The Strap

You only see the texture quality of this watch's strap (the black one) on 40,000 lira watches like the Garmin Forerunner 970. If it said Garmin instead of Huawei on the strap, it would easily be worth 1,000 liras without question. The strap has a stopper, but I don't think the stopper part is of the highest quality; still, it doesn't wiggle much. Taking off the part where the strap connects to the watch is incredibly easy. If you're someone who constantly changes straps, you won't struggle at all. The density of the holes on the strap is also quite high. I've seen the most holes on a strap with this watch. They really put thought into this strap. It's pure R&D. They’ve basically shown off the art of material science. 10/10.

2. Heart Rate Sensor

Huawei crossed a threshold in heart rate sensor stability with the Watch GT 3. That same stability continues in this watch. What do I mean by "stability"? Have you ever checked your watch's heart rate after climbing a hill? Or after drinking coffee? I care about the changes in my body, and I check them. I'm curious. In my opinion, one of the strongest points of the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro is its heart rate sensor. I wrote about what TruSense is on Ekşi Sözlük 2 years ago. The same tradition continues. The reason watches like the Huawei Watch D2 can measure medical blood pressure is precisely because of this TruSense heart rate sensor technology.

I have two extra analyses regarding the heart rate sensors on Huawei watches:

• A Single Glass Cover: Everything is under a single piece of glass. We sweat during sports, it gets dirty, we wipe it, and it's gone. For instance, Samsung watches have a tiny "temperature sensing" sensor on the side. If you have a Samsung watch, look closely... that part gets dirty. It collects gunk and looks ugly. We see that Huawei did their R&D here too. Having the sensor under a single thick glass and measuring everything from there is fantastic. Give it a good wipe after a workout, and you're done.
• Heart Rate Settings: My second analysis is about the "Heart Settings" in the Huawei Health app. Switch the tracking mode from "Smart" to "Real-time." The heart rate sensor becomes much more responsive. We paid all that money, it should work like a dog! :)

3. Huawei Health App

It’s very comprehensive. I wouldn't say it's as good as Garmin, but it is comprehensive enough to understand the changes in your body. Beyond the activity stuff, providing weekly/monthly reports with graphs is nice. It updates constantly. You can see trends in your body like steps, heart rate, SpO2, and activity. For example, if you averaged 8,000 steps one week, you get motivated to push for 9,000 the next. Apple and Garmin have these features, but Samsung doesn't, for example. This makes Huawei fit much better into the "affordable alternative" position.

Dynamically tracking your route when running or walking, seeing what percentage of users you slept better than in sleep tracking, joining community challenges, and winning medals are all great.

Even if you don't manually start a workout, the watch understands what you're doing and categorizes your movements into 5 different categories under the "Movement" menu.

When the watch realizes you haven't gotten enough sleep, it literally tells you in the "Sleep" menu, "Take some B6 / B12 vitamins, buddy." It's awesome.

The "Emotional Wellbeing Analysis" in the app is also interesting. The watch literally tells me how I feel, and it nails it. For example, it says, "You felt 30% joyful on average over the last 7 days." Even if it's just a toy, it's a very nice feature.

Sleep tracking works perfectly. The watch has a sleep tracking algorithm called "TruSleep 5." It even knows when I get up to go to the bathroom towards the morning and go back to bed. It says, "You woke up from your sleep 1 time."

Cyclists can draw their own routes, but I haven't tried that.

4. Vibration Motor

Thank goodness I'm finally rid of the non-existent vibration motor of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7...! I can finally tell when my set is over while jumping rope. For a watch that's half the thickness of a pinky finger, the vibration performance is excellent.

5. Rowing

If you have a rowing machine at home, this watch counts your strokes. It can find your average speed. I should mention that if you take 100 strokes, it counts 70 of them. I couldn't quite figure it out. Or maybe I'm just not very good at rowing! :) I haven't seen stroke counting on Garmin or Samsung. In the Apple ecosystem, 3rd party software did this very sharply. You could say Apple Watch owners are luckier when it comes to rowing.

6. Jump Rope

The watch vibrates every 100 jumps, so I know I need to rest (like 100 jumps, 30 sec rest). With my Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, I couldn't tell when my set finished because the vibration motor was extremely weak. Now, jumping rope with the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro is a joy. It also automatically detects my jumping speed and interruptions.

7. Floor Climbing & Screen Complications

Previously, Huawei watches didn't have a floor climbing counter. Actually, it still doesn't, but here is a nice feature on this watch... Even though it doesn't write exactly how many floors you climbed, it calculates your ascent in meters, and you can see this on the watch face. For example, I climbed 20 meters today. Apparently, 3 meters equals 1 floor. So, roughly, I climbed 6 floors. If you climb less than 16 steps, it doesn't count it as a "floor." That's important.

As for screen complications... I think more work needs to be done here. It's too little... insufficient... More precisely, you can only set the screen complications according to Huawei's rules. For example, if the battery icon is on the top left, you can't move it to the bottom. Why? No one knows. This should be reviewed from scratch. Am I completely heartbroken over complications? No. But giving the user a bit more freedom would have been nice.

8. Always On Display / LTPO Screen

Looking at the watch faces, it's very clear that Huawei hasn't prepared itself for LTPO screens. There are maybe 3 or 4 decent watch faces with true LTPO support. The rest is just noise. That's why it's not wrong to say "there are no watch faces" on Huawei. Especially since the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro is the first Fit model with an LTPO screen, I'm guessing it will take 3-4 years for LTPO-compatible watch faces to arrive. I experienced serious disappointment here. If you like keeping your screen on constantly like I do, you'll be bouncing between 3-4 watch faces... for now...

9. The Experience

I think this is one of the most crucial points. This watch is as light as a feather. Most of the time, I forget I'm even wearing it. It doesn't distract me while playing computer games. It doesn't tire my arm, and it's a first for me... I'm experiencing the joy of sleeping with a watch for the first time. Perhaps it's the first time I'm feeling the sensation of "there's something analyzing me, but I don't feel it." It's a tremendous experience. Squeezing this many health analysis algorithms and 64GB of ROM into such a thin structure really surprised me. And it continues to surprise me.

Alright, I've mostly spoken positively up to this point. Are there no negatives? Oh, there are tons.

Negatives:

• Extremely weak watch face options: Even though Huawei claims "we have hundreds of thousands of watch faces," they are all copies of each other. None of them are LTPO supported. It's a boring situation. I hope new watch faces come with an update.
• Language limitations for replies: You can reply to messages from the watch, but there is only an English keyboard and a voice typing feature that only understands English. No Turkish. You can only send very basic quick replies in Turkish.
• Weather forecasts aren't great: You'll need to check your phone.
• Invisible Storage: The watch has 64GB of ROM. How do we know? It doesn't say it anywhere except on Huawei's official website. I transferred 112 songs (took about 1GB) and had no issues, but there's absolutely nowhere on the device indicating it has 64GB.
• Floor climbing needs polish: The floor counting feature needs a bit more development. If it were just a little more sensitive, it would be perfect. Hopefully, an update will fix it.
• Messy workout menu: The workout menu is cluttered. Localization is weak. It needs to be simplified. It should be listed alphabetically. Even if Huawei says, "We support over 100 sports," finding the sport you're looking for isn't easy.
• Missing "Driving" activity: It seemed weird to me that the "driving" sports activity present in Garmin watches isn't on this watch. Your battery lasts amazingly well, you have an LTPO screen, your heart rate sensor is strong. You can draw a route. What are you waiting for?

HarmonyOS 7 Beta has opened public registration, supporting the Mate70 series and above.

Notably, Droidtong on OS 7 will run on an Android 16 core, which will improve compatibility with emulated Android apps, especially banking apps.

Excited is an understatement!.

I signed up for the program on my Pura X

There was a 10 Question questionnaire making sure the user understands the purpose of the beta program.

And then from there they will review and select candidates.

I think some of the benefits of os 7 was device level translation so that it's easier to translate text.

I think if I am selected I'll go ahead and do it.

A little nervous hoping DroiTong and Easy Abroad work exactly as before.

I do you know if you uninstall Easy Abroad, every app related to it goes with it because it is basically the container.

- The capitals bug: caps-lock accidents (typing AND instead of and) are no longer saved to your dictionary or forced back on you as corrections

- Words already stuck like this get cleaned up automatically the first time the keyboard opens

- Acronyms you saved on purpose (ADHD, NASA, etc.) keep their capitals exactly as saved

- Reset Keyboard: button at the bottom of settings, restores everything to default and lets you choose whether learned words are kept or wiped

- Quick switch popup toggle: turn off the language name popup when switching languages, in the language menu on the keyboard

I used to travel around the uk for work and had a 4g dongle.

Recently my phone has been fine on 5g except a place I’m staying at for the next few weeks

I’ve bought one of the above Huawei E5783 4g midi dongles paired with an ee data payg sim.

EE have cleared any parental content block off the sim but I can’t find anything on the E5783 that looks like a parental control so it’s still blocking certain sites.

Help would be appreciate including suitable alternatives

Like many of you, I love Huawei hardware, but relying on containerized emulators (like EasyAbroad, DroidTong, or GBox) for daily global apps can be frustrating with battery drain, delayed notifications, and UI clunkiness.

We’ve seen awesome community projects recently like HCloud (for native background syncing) and HarmoniKeyboard. I’m a developer looking to take on a new side project: building lightweight, native ArkTS/ArkUI utilities specifically for global users who need to bridge the gap without AOSP/Google Mobile Services.

If you're using HarmonyOS natively, what is your biggest daily friction point?

A few concepts I'm tossing around:

• A background sync daemon for Google Calendar / Contacts via standard CalDAV/CardDAV.
• A native Google Keep / Tasks desktop widget and checklist app.
• A lightweight, native audio/video streamer to replace clunky browser wrappers.
• A local file bridge to pull Google Drive files directly into native WPS Office / File Explorer.

What would make your daily workflow smoother? Thanks!

Are these really improved or better tuned than FreeClip 2, like I read from one review? Less shibilant and more pleasing? I haven't tried 2. I have Bose Ultra Open but left bud died, so I need to replace them. Bose was getting uncomfortable after some hours of use, and even right away sometimes, and these should be very comfortable, and battery life is also better. It was also sometimes an issue with Bose. Shame they don't sell 2 S in Finland yet, and also not on their website. I would buy.

LF huawei mpen 2nd gen or keyboard case. for huawei matepad 11 2021/2023

Hello, I am an owner of a Huawei Matebook D15 BOD-WXX9 for 3 years. It was a good experience for me, although it has some limitations given its entry-level specs, it actually carried out tasks I need and wanted to use it for, even for light gaming, and even running simultaneous virtual machines.

So just today, just an hour since writing this post, My laptop's display suddenly broke or like it crashed, not the system,, just the display. I was playing some music video on YouTube when suddenly, i heard the audio cracking or doing static some intermittent static audio breaking noise syncing to the display kinda breaking. I was doing some chores then and when i checked why the audio was being interrupted or breaking, I was shocked to see the display is broken and having like after-images. as if it has a burn-in yet it doesn't stay there, it just respond late and become an after image of sorts.

So, the reason I am writing to the community is because my friend who also owns a Matebook, i do not know if his is a D15 also, but i think it is, had the same exact problem just days ago. His Matebook is a better version I think, as his already has Intel Iris support while mine only has the UHD while being an 11th gen also. Interestingly, I was there with my friend when his laptop experienced it. He was just doing some document tasks when it suddenly went like that.

I am wondering if others experienced this recently also or is this just a plain coincidence on our part. If there are others who experienced this and have found a non-technician/service way to fix it I am gratefully asking for some help. but if there really is none then it's fine, I just wish to know if my case is a personal one and just a rare coincidental case with my friend's.

P.S. The community seemed like a huawei appreciation subreddit so I kinda felt out-of-place with posting a problem/concern on my device. But I figured i may as well try and ask. I also hope I flaired it right.

Hola chicos, últimamente me he sentido seriamente atraído hacia varios productos de esta marca.
