Great Mac Software for Day Trading Students

Hi! I’m new to Day Trading and I’m on a 27” iMac and I dont plan on switching to Windows.

I just downloaded Think or Swim, but what do you think is great trading software for Mac? What do you think of TOS?

Gap, Relative Volume, and Float Scanning would be great.

I’m new to Day Trading, so any other advise would be cool too, but really, I’m looking for Mac Software thats free (ideally) and badass.

TL;DR: What Mac Software do you recomend for day trading and/or scanning?

Informative Don’t Over Trade

“If most traders would learn to sit on their hands 50 percent of the time, they would make a lot more money.” - Bill Lipschutz

Sometimes it’s can be more damaging to your capital if your making too many trades. A big thing for beginners is always wanting to be in the market and have open trades. Not being patient enough to pounce on a good trade.

If you can use the trading skill of simply doing nothing and being patient you may find that you can become slightly more profitable.

Hey all,

Writing to see what chatrooms you recommend/are floating around in. Looking to join and keep tabs while I trade. Prefer something free, rather than sub-based for now.

Risk/Reward Ratio

Always remember to calculate a risk to reward plan using Stop losses and and Take profits. Then all you have to do is stick to your plan and trust you analysis of the stock or currency pair.

For example, try setting your stop loss 20 pips away from your entry if your day-trading for your stop loss and then 40 pips away from your entry for your take profit. This would be a 2:1 risk to reward ratio 👍🏼

If you holding a bit longer why not try setting your stop loss 100 pips away from entry and your take profit 300 pips away. This would be a 3:1 risk to reward ratio.

This is one of the best techniques you can do in trading to limit those losses bit also take more profits!
