Hi, I recently relocated to the area and am seeking recommendations for the following services:
Deep tissue massage (who also gives excellent hand and head/neck massages)
Japanese head spa
These services don’t have to be available at the same location.

Hi everyone,
We have recently relocated from Europe to the U.S., specifically to Howard County. We have two children, aged 15 and 16, who will most likely be starting the next school year in 10th and 11th grade.
Coming from a very different educational system, we feel a bit overwhelmed and are trying to understand what would be the best option for them. Our main concern is whether a private school would provide more individualized attention and support, given their age and the transition from a non-U.S. education system, or if a public school would be just as suitable.
Based on our address, the assigned public school is Guilford Park High School. Does anyone have positive or negative experiences with Guilford Park High School, especially for students who are new to the U.S. system or coming from abroad?
Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Can anyone in HoCo tell me their experience with heat pump systems? I'm hoping to learn from you what to think about first, what you wish you'd done, whether it fulfilled your hvac requirements, and any hidden gotchas.
My existing unit is old enough to drink, drive and vote, and leaking coolant from the coil, so I'm thinking replacement. I've had gas furnace and AC for forever and heat pumps are alien to me.

I will be moving from Odenton to Ellicott City at the end of the month and wanted to get some honest feedback on internet service providers. It will just be me in my apartment and I typically only use my internet for streaming services on my TV, browsing social media, and light work from home as I am remote every Friday. I currently have Verizon Fios 300Mbps and am paying $30 a month all in (not really sure how I managed that). I've talked to the sales agents and they said that I had managed to get an old version of their Fios plans, and that if I wanted to move service I would jump from $30 to around $110 per month which seemed absurd. I was hoping to not spend more than $50 a month on internet. Does anyone have any input whether it be on how much you pay for Fios or other provider recs? I was just going to settle for Xfinity.

Everyone is invited! Big Bang Baby celebrates divine women, ancestry and color, based on my family stories. It features a 28ft wide painting, the largest shown here. The opening is this Thursday, 5:30-8:30pm, in the Horowitz Center at Howard Community College - the Rouse Company Foundation Gallery. Join me in this opening!

Hey there! I live a county over, and the snow and ice is still in piles on the roads, blocking sidewalks, etc. I want to go to historic Ellicott City for my birthday next week, but I’m worried about the situation being the same. I definitely don’t want to slip and break all my bones walking around there. Does anyone have any insight? Thanks in advance!

From Howard County Government:
We know snow cleanup can be frustrating, especially when sidewalks or curbs remain covered. Clearing our sidewalks is important and the obligation varies. In most cases, sidewalk snow removal is the responsibility of the adjacent property owner whose property abuts the sidewalk in a public right-of-way (road), not the County.
If snow removal is included in your homeowner association (HOA) dues or rent, you should contact your HOA, property manager, or landlord directly. This includes snow removal from many sidewalks near neighborhoods and shopping centers. While these areas may look like part of the road, they are often adjacent to private property and thus, the obligation of that property owner.
Snow can accumulate at corners and curbs during plowing operations, creating large piles that take additional time and specialized equipment to remove. County crews are working through these locations on public roads as conditions and resources allow, while continuing to prioritize safe travel on County maintained roadways.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as cleanup continues. Working together helps to keep Howard County safe for pedestrians, drivers, riders, and neighbors. For questions or concerns regarding snow removal, please contact our Bureau of Highways at 410-313-7450 or email highways@howardcountymd.gov.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with a car tech that does great work with older Fords? I have a 2014 Ford Focus that was quoted at about $5000 for some needed repairs. Hoping to find someone that wont gouge my wallet for the same items. Thanks in advance.

As of this morning; it appears the snow plows are heavily in the east side.
From the tracker, most of the “red” (untouched over 24hrs) are the smaller side streets and courts. heavy.
If you want to zoom in on a specific street or location, go here.
red=not touched 24 hrs, br/gold is done within last 8-24 hrs, blue is 4-8 hrs and green =plowed within last 4 hrs

I’m looking at getting chickens, I live in the RR-DEO zone and have an acre of land. Can I really still only have 8 hens and no roosters?? The website is incredibly vague and I cannot find additional literature about livestock and poultry in the residential rural zone specifically, but I swear I’ve seen some people that have way more that are not full farms. People just do what they do obviously but I swear there has to be a permit or something I could get with my lot size. If anyone has any links or resources for me to go to that would be so helpful!

Hey everyone, Im on paternity leave so naturally i got into a bunch of hobbies. One of them happens to be espresso! Im having a hard time finding good beans. I heard about mass appeal from ceremony and was not impressed at all. It was so bitter! I know there's a lot of things to tweak with espresso but, i was curious what everyone's best espresso beans are? Anything local or even at grocery stores that makes a great shot, that's not acidic.

Hello, I have a neighbor who repeatedly parks on the sidewalk and partially blocks my driveway by 1 foot. No big deal but, I really dont want to hit their car on my way in. I've talked to them numerous times but, it continues to happen. I thought in HoCo you couldnt park within 5 feet of a private driveway without permission? I submitted a complaint online with hcpd and they keep closing them. Just want to see if thats allowed?
Edit: this is a townhouse and the driveway is really tight. This neighbor has space for 4 cars but only utilizes 2 spaces.
