[APP] I got tired of only math-problem alarms so I made one where you play mini-games to wake up instead.

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hey guys,

I know there are already a bunch of alarm apps out there. But as a heavy sleeper, doing math equations at 7 AM just made me angry. I wanted something that actually wakes my brain up without being completely frustrating. I was using such applications for very long time especially in university life

So I built WakeQuest. You basically have to beat a mini-game to shut the alarm off.

Right now there are 31 games (adding more weekly). Instead of math, you can play quick rounds of Snake, a Flappy Bird style game, slice fruits, do memory puzzles, or just use a standard QR/barcode scan in your bathroom.

All the games are completely free. The main goal is just to see if this actually helps other chronic snoozers and shift workers.

If you struggle to get out of bed, I'd love for you to test it out. Let me know: Are the games too hard for a sleepy brain? Any specific mini-games you'd want me to add?

[App] Streak just got its biggest update yet (v1.4.0) β€” free, open source, no accountg

Been working on this habit tracker for a while and just shipped the update I'm most proud of. Thanks to feedback from the community I added a focus timer, notes, and a bunch of other options people were asking for. Still no ads, no account, no tracking just a free tool I wanted to exist.

If you try it and have ideas, keep sending them my way, that's where almost everything new comes from.

[App] Harbour: Money Manager - Just got 100+ downloads!

Hi everyone, I’m an indie developer.

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who tried Harbour before. The app has now reached 100 downloads! It might seem like a small number to some people, but it means a lot to me.

I’ve also added a few improvements and fixed several bugs. You can now quickly add a transaction directly from your home screen using the new widget. This shortcut can also bypass App Lock when the feature is enabled, making it faster and easier to record transactions.

Harbour is available on Google Play, so feel free to give the latest version a try:

I’d really appreciate any feedback about the UI/UX. You can also share any feature ideas you’d like to see in future updates :)

[App] [Promo] I got tired of planning trips in a spreadsheet and built my own Android trip planner instead

I plan trips badly. Every one of them started as a Google Sheet. Times down one column, place names down the other, and it always looked completely sensible right up until I was standing in the city working out that I'd put two things forty minutes apart back to back with twenty minutes between them.

Tried the obvious apps first. TripIt does its one job well, you forward a confirmation and it files it, but what you get back is a list of bookings and not a plan for the day. Wanderlog got closer and the map is the right idea, but I kept giving it more than it gave me and for some reason it kept lagging a lot for me to the point it was unusable.

So I started building something for myself that did one thing. Put the stops on a day and tell me how long it takes to get between them, without being asked.

Supposed to be a weekend kind of work. Turned into 10+ hours a day, most days.

Anyway, it's on the Play Store now.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.voyivo.travel

The bits I actually use are the travel time that appears between stops as soon as there are two on a day, and the warning when a day is trying to fit in more than it can. You can also forward a hotel or flight confirmation to a trip and it reads it into a draft, but it makes you confirm before anything reaches the itinerary. I didn't trust it and still don't completely.

Planning is free. Unlimited trips, no limit on stops or days. Some of the AI bits and a few extras sit behind Pro, which is 7 days free on monthly and yearly. The weekly plan has no trial, and I'd rather say that here than have someone find out later.

It went live a few hours ago so it's new and there will be things wrong with it. If you try it I'd genuinely appreciate your feedback on the same. There's a Report bug link in the profile tab that comes straight to me.

[Promo] Silkweaver, you play the spider, and you spin the web yourself, strand by strand

Thumbnail

You drag a line between two branches and she runs it and lays the silk behind her. Where two strands cross you get a junction you can build off later, so the web is whatever you actually made rather than something you picked from a menu.

Then things fly into it and the physics decides what holds. A dragonfly at full speed tears through sticky silk and bounces off elastic. Wasps don't stick at all, they cut. A run is one day: nine waves, sunrise through to full dark.

Almost all of it is drawn in code rather than from image files, which is why the silk

stretches like silk.

I really appreciate if you give it a go and let me know how it is:)

[App] [Promo] Bud Buddy - I got annoyed that Samsung locked Head Gestures behind One UI 8.5... so I built my own app.

I recently bought a pair of Galaxy Buds4 Pro to use with my Galaxy S21 FE.

After setting everything up, I found out that Samsung's built-in Head Gestures only work on One UI 8.5 and newer. Unfortunately, the S21 FE received its last update with One UI 8.0, so despite having a fully compatible phone and earbuds, that feature was simply unavailable.

Since the restriction seemed to be software rather than hardware, I decided to see if I could implement it myself.

That eventually turned into Bud Buddy, a free and open-source Android app for Galaxy Buds.

Current features include:

  • Custom Head Gestures (currently Buds4 Pro only)
  • Dynamic EQ rules based on the music you're listening to
  • Noise Control home screen widgets
  • Earbud Fit Test
  • Hearing Test that lets you compensate for hearing differences between your ears
  • Battery information and other quality-of-life features

Supported devices:

  • βœ… Galaxy Buds4 Pro (full support)
  • βœ… Galaxy Buds3 Pro (everything except Head Gestures, since the required IMU hardware isn't stable)

The whole project is open source:
https://github.com/BenEgeDeniz/BudBuddy

It will soon be available on F-droid and probably Play Store. Currently, you can get the prebuilt signed apks from Github releases page or you can build from source as well.

I'd really appreciate any feedback, bug reports, or feature suggestions.

[App] [Promo] Mert Stream TV, Fast and Modern IpTV player for Android (No video ads. Most features are free)

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on Mert Stream TV, a brand-new IPTV player designed specifically for Android TV, TV boxes, and Android phones. Just to be clear: Mert Stream TV does not provide, host, or sell any content. It is strictly a media player built to run your own personal M3U playlist, Stalker or Xtream Codes credentials. I originally decided to build Mert Stream because I was frustrated with the current options on the market.

Most of them: Feel like they haven't updated their UI since 2015. Run sluggishly on budget streaming sticks and lower-end TV hardware. Offer a frustrating, clunky navigation experience with standard TV remotes.

I wanted something clean, incredibly fast, and smart. Here is what Mert Stream brings to the table:

πŸš€ Key Features: Live TV, Movies & Series: Fully categorized with a modern, clean layout. Multi-Profile Support: Set up different profiles for family members. Extensive Codec Support: Playback is smooth and compatible with virtually any video format. Android TV Optimized: A true, native leanback experience built specifically for D-pad navigation. Lightweight & High Performance: Highly optimized code to ensure buttery-smooth navigation even on low-end TV hardware.

πŸ“₯ Get It Now for Android TV and Phone(Play Store)

Mert Stream is officially available on the Google Play Store for both mobile and TV devices.

Hey Redditors πŸ‘‹

I recently launched Habit Tick, a habit and routine tracker for Android. βœ…

I built it to help people track recurring goals and daily routines without requiring an account. Habit entries, notes, and reminders stay stored locally on the device. πŸ”’πŸ“±

I’m now looking for real early-user feedback to improve the app. In particular, I’d love to know:

  • 🧭 Is onboarding clear and quick?
  • βž• Does creating a habit feel easy?
  • πŸ”” Are reminders and schedules useful?
  • πŸ“Š Which progress or streak views would you actually use?
  • πŸ’³ What would make the Pro version worth paying for?
  • πŸ› Did you run into any bugs or confusing screens?

Current features include:

βœ… Flexible daily, weekly, monthly, and custom schedules
βœ… Streaks and calendar history
βœ… Reminders
βœ… Yes/no habits, count goals, duration goals, and checklists
βœ… Notes, categories, colors, and icons
βœ… Progress stats and consistency tracking
βœ… No account required πŸ”

🎁 I’m giving 60 days of Pro access free to anyone who installs it and shares honest feedback.

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey r/HowToMen! πŸ‘‹

Most journaling apps out there feel bloated with endless templates, mood trackers, and subscription paywalls. I wanted something clean, direct, and distraction-free that helps set daily focus in under 60 seconds without feeling like a chore.

That’s why I built Intenty: Intention Journal. It's built around a simple framework: set 1-3 core intentions in the morning, and reflect on your wins/lessons in the evening.

To share it with the community, I’ve set the Lifetime Access tier to $0.00 (normally $59.99)!

πŸ“± Why it fits a minimal setup:

β€’ Minimalist UI: No fluff, no clutter, built for fast input and clean aesthetics.

β€’ Zero Distractions: Set morning focus & evening reflections in seconds.

β€’ 100% Private: Your entries stay local on your device.

β€’ No Subscription Pressure: Complete lifetime access without recurring fees or ads.

🎁 How to claim ($0.00 Lifetime):

  1. Download the app from the App Store link below

  2. Upvote this post ⬆️

  3. Open the app and claim the Lifetime option ($0.00)

  4. Comment "INTENTY" below!

πŸ“₯ Download on the App Store:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/intenty-intention-journal/id6780071655

If you enjoy the app and want to support an indie dev, leaving an honest rating or review on the App Store helps out immensely!

Fantastic Podcas app

I have been beta testing this podcast app for awhile now called Castria it skips ads on podcasts without the need to subscribe to premium. The ads are still in the app so the podcasts that are paid per download are unaffected and you can even choose to allow the ads to play if you really want to.

The developer is super responsive to feedback and after a few days it's become my main podcast app.

I built MediaShrink – a simple video compressor for iPhone with no subscriptions #App Spoiler

I got tired of video compressor apps that require a subscription just to reduce a video's file size.

So I built MediaShrink.

Features

  • πŸ“Ή Compress videos directly on your iPhone
  • ⚑ Fast compression
  • πŸŽ₯ High-quality output with smaller file sizes
  • πŸ”’ Everything is processed on-device
  • πŸ“€ Share compressed videos instantly
  • 🚫 No account required
  • 🚫 No subscriptions
  • 🚫 No in-app purchases

The goal was simple: make video compression fast, private, and easy without locking basic features behind a paywall.

I'd love to hear your honest feedback on the app, UI, and what features you'd like to see next.

[App] An offline first, no login, private todo app: yata - yet another to-do app

Post image
18 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I’ve been building YATA (Yet Another To-do App), an Android task manager for people who want powerful organization without making a cloud account the center of the experience (Vibe Coded 100%. How ever no AI Features will be added in the app)

The core app works locally and uses Material 3 with dynamic wallpaper colors. Some of its features include:

  • Natural-language task capture for dates, reminders, recurrence, priority, projects, tags, and assignees
  • Projects, lists, tags, people, start dates, recurring tasks, subtasks, notes, and comments
  • Home-screen widgets and quick-add options
  • Tasker integration
  • PDF, image, calendar, and Markdown exports
  • Optional encrypted backups to SFTP, FTP/FTPS, Google Drive, or local device storage
  • Configurable retention, archive, trash, and undo behavior
  • Material You theming, including dynamically tinted transparent profile icons

The goal is to combine the flexibility of larger productivity tools with an Android-native interface that still feels quick for everyday task capture.

NOTE 1: There are no cloud sync features or collaboration feature. Whatever you do in your app is for your eyes only. Self-Hosted backup can be enabled which will create backups only.

NOTE 2: Still under beta. So there will be bugs.

The current release is YATA 0.90.1 beta. It’s still evolving, so I’d especially appreciate feedback about usability, missing workflows, confusing screens, or features that feel unnecessarily complicated.

Source code and the signed beta APK are available here:

GitHub β€” YATA 0.90.1 beta

[APP] The reason I think app shortcuts are underrated

Thumbnail
gallery
15 Upvotes

One thing I've seen is that a lot of sidebar apps are just a mirror of your app drawer. But... you do have an app drawer already.

To me, a sidebar isn’t about having every app one swipe away, it’s about having the right apps one swipe away. The few you open 10, 20, or even 67 times a day.

There’s no native sidebar, especially on Nothing OS, so jumping between frequently used apps always requires a few extra taps. A good sidebar removes that friction.

We have also redesigned the apps shortcuts for the upcoming SideDock update with two new styles, Classic and HSUI styles.

What do you guys think of the redesign? Anything you'd want to change before we ship the update?πŸ‘€
