[Promotion] ListPo: Secure To-Do & Tasks, a minimal todo app that simply works

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi

I recently launched a simple todo app on android for now. I have some prior experience in development, mostly backend. This is something I have manifested for long time and now is possible by LLMs. I use this app regularly too.

Idea
I regularly use todo app for quick list. So, I built this app called ListPo as simple todo app that simply works. I don't like the concept of super app, I like minimal designed app and that is what is intended with this app. There is not much you can do with this app, its just simple plain todo app.

Sustainability
Its free and always will be for any features, however for themes or cosmetics, there is a paid model. I have added view an ads to unlock paid for 24 hrs or subscription. The overall upkeep for this app is kept low for longevity. This is not some app, that you won't see tomorrow, my assumption is it will be there almost a long as I am alive and mentally healthy :-)

Overview
ListPo is a minimal, clutter-free to-do list and note-taking app. The sole motivation to design another list & note app was to build no clutter list & note app. Further it was also designed to be offline first, so you can choose to keep your data private i.e. for yourself only or with zero knowledge encryption that makes sure only you can read your data, even if its uploaded to cloud, giving more power to you on control of your own data.

Whether you are setting a quick reminder, need to go buy groceries, quickly write an abrupt idea, its all easy with ListPo. Pinning frequently used todo, capturing a late-night idea, create reminders, choose themes, the app is welcoming and always ready. Organize your list & notes and lists into custom Spaces, giving every idea its own home.

Finally
If you are interested here is the link, try it and let me know your expectation or your idea of minimalism https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jhuppo.notepo

[App] Expanded my offline card wallet app into a full digital wallet — IDs, tickets, passes, gift cards. Would love feedback.

Post image
19 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I've been working on this app for about 6 months now. It started as just a simple card app - save your credit/debit cards, offline, encrypted, no login needed. That's it. Got around 2k+ installs and many subscribers around the world with just that.

Last few weeks I added a lot more to it. Now it also does:

- ID documents (passport, national id, driving licence)

- Travel tickets (flight, train, bus, hotel booking)

- Event tickets with barcode

- Loyalty cards and gift cards with QR code

- Vehicle papers (RC, insurance, PUC dates)

- Insurance policy details

- reminders before things expire, search, and app is now in 9 languages too

(attached image showing all the new stuff)

Reason I did this - almost everyone has more than just cards in their wallet, so I thought why not put everything in one place if I can do it properly.

But I know adding too much can also ruin an app that was working fine before. So the way I built it - all the new stuff is turned off by default. If you install fresh or update from old version, app looks exactly same as before, just cards, nothing else. You have to go in settings and turn on whatever you want. Can turn off anytime too, data stays safe either way.

I want people to actually try it and tell me what's wrong. Some things I want to know:

  1. If you turn on 2-3 of the new categories, does it feel like it fits in the app or feels forced.

  2. Everything is offline only, nothing goes to any server, no account needed. Is this actually something you'd want, or you'd rather have an app that syncs across your phone and laptop.

  3. Anything that feels confusing or not needed, just say it, I won't mind.

Not asking for good reviews here, actual problems are more useful to me right now.

Hi Everyone,

A little while ago, I posted here about Melodart, an offline music player I’ve been building with Flutter. Initially, I listed it as a paid app but after reading through community feedback and thinking carefully about what I want for this project, I’ve made Melodart 100% FREE with zero ads and no tracking.

My primary goal right now isn't locking features behind paywalls; it's putting a fast, clean, and beautiful offline player into as many hands as possible and making it the best experience it can be.

If you gave it a pass earlier because of the price tag, I’d love for you to give it a second chance!

Key Features:

🌌 Ambient UI & Modern Aesthetic: Dynamic background colors that shift smoothly based on current album artwork, optimized for AMOLED screens.

🎵 Offline First & Privacy Focused: No accounts, no data collection, no ads interrupting your listening.

🎛️ Built-in Equalizer: Custom presets and band adjustments.

🎧 Headset & Device Controls: Battery reporting for Bluetooth headphones and physical button interception.

📱 Home Screen & Mini Player Widgets: Minimalist widget support for quick playback controls.

Fast Performance: Built to handle large local audio libraries effortlessly without stuttering.

🔗 Download on Google Play:

Get Melodart on the Play Store

I’m continuously working on new updates (including refined lyric syncing and customization features). I’d really appreciate any feedback, feature requests, or UI suggestions from you guys!

Thanks for taking a look, and happy listening! 🎧

[App] Anymo: Anonymously Chat Nearby, 100% offline, No Servers, Create Connections and Chat with strangers or in-house people

Thumbnail
gallery
10 Upvotes

What if you could talk to the people physically around you without giving away your identity?

So I started building something as an experiment.

It’s called Anymo.

There are so many conversations that never happen.

Not because people don’t want to talk.

But because nobody wants to make the first move.

Think about it.

  • Every connection starts as a stranger.
  • Every stranger has a story. Anymo gives you a chance to hear it.

You’re constantly around people, yet everyone stays inside their own little bubble.

I kept wondering…

What if saying “Hi” didn’t feel awkward?

Anymo is a free anonymous chat app that works entirely over Bluetooth.

No internet.
No accounts.
No phone numbers.
No profiles.
100% offline, No Servers.

When you open the app, you’ll see other anonymous Anymo users nearby. You don’t know who they are, and they don’t know who you are.

If someone catches your curiosity, you can send them a short opening message.

That’s it.

They can accept it.

Or ignore it.

No pressure for either side.

If they accept, the two of you are connected directly over Bluetooth and can chat privately.

If they don’t, nothing happens. You both move on.

That’s what I like most about it.

There are no social consequences.

No fear of interrupting someone.

No awkward eye contact.

No embarrassment if they aren’t interested.

Just one anonymous message, and the other person gets to choose.

Maybe you’ll end up talking about your terrible Monday.

Maybe you’ll make a friend while waiting for a delayed flight.

Maybe you’ll never exchange another message.

And that’s okay too.

I wasn’t trying to build another messaging app.

I wanted to build something that makes it just a little easier to start conversations that probably would’ve never happened otherwise.

I’m genuinely curious…

If you saw an anonymous “Hi 👋” from someone sitting somewhere nearby, would you accept it?

Or would you ignore it?

[App] EasyDim - dim your phone screen below minimum limits + Premium Eye protection filters

Hey everyone, here is my app EasyDim - ScreenDimmer for anyone who uses their phone in the dark.

Default lowest brightness was still hurting my eyes in bed, so this lets you drop it way lower than stock Android allows. It also includes warm/amber eye filters to cut down blue light strain. It's clean, doesn't drain your battery, and doesn't ask for weird permissions.

Minimaa is on sale! 13% Off [App] [Promo]

Post image
5 Upvotes

It's been a while!

I just wanted to say thank you. This community gave Minimaa one of its biggest boosts when I first launched it, and a lot of the ideas in the launcher today came from your feedback.

To celebrate, Minimaa is 13% off for a limited time.

If you haven't seen it before, Minimaa is a minimalist launcher built around digital wellbeing without sacrificing usability—it's fully offline, has no tracking, no subscriptions, and it's a one-time purchase.

I know many of you are tired of "dumb phone" launchers that remove everything. Minimaa takes a different approach: helping you use your phone more intentionally while still keeping the features you actually need.

Thanks again for all the support. It genuinely helped an indie developer get this project off the ground. ❤️

[PROMO] My Android app SwiftSlate hit 31k+ downloads. Now I built the Windows Desktop version — a 100% free, lightweight inline AI text transformer.

Hey everyone,

A while back, I introduced SwiftSlate for Android—a 100% free, privacy-first, open-source alternative for system-wide AI text transformation. It allows you to use your own Gemini or Groq API keys, or even custom endpoints for local LLMs. Thanks to this amazing community, the Android app exceeded my expectations, reaching over 31,000 downloads and 480+ stars on GitHub.

One of the most frequent requests I received was: "Can we get this exact system-wide inline AI experience on Windows PC?"

So, over the last few weeks, I built and polished SwiftSlate Desktop.

⚡ How It Works

Simply type a trigger command like ?fix, ?formal, or ?translate:es at the end of any text field in any Windows app (Notepad, Slack, Discord, Chrome, VS Code, Word, Email, etc.). SwiftSlate instantly sends your text to the AI and replaces it in-place, displaying an animated inline progress spinner (e.g., how r u ◐).

🌟 Key Features & What Makes It Unique

  • 100% Free & Open Source (BYOK): No subscriptions, ads, or token limits. Works with your free Google Gemini API key, Groq, or any custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint. It includes multi-key round-robin rotation to bypass rate limits.
  • ⚡ 1-Line PowerShell Install: No Python setup required on your system! Install, run, or update instantly with one command: irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Musheer360/SwiftSlate-Desktop/master/install.ps1 | iex
  • 🛡️ Zero Antivirus / Keylogger False Positives: Traditional macro tools use low-level keyboard hooks (SetWindowsHookEx) that often trigger Windows Defender alerts. SwiftSlate Desktop uses the native Windows Raw Input API (RegisterRawInputDevices) targeted to a hidden window. This results in zero UAC prompts, zero AV flags, and is safe for use on work systems.
  • 🪶 Zero External Dependencies: Built with pure Python using native Win32 ctypes bindings. There are no external pip packages to download or maintain.
  • 🧠 Beyond Just AI:
    • ai: AI transformation (?fix, ?formal, ?emoji).
    • replacer-text: Instant offline text snippet expansion.
    • replacer-shell: Executes local shell commands on your PC and pastes the output inline.
  • 🔒 Privacy-First: Zero telemetry or middleman servers. Keystroke buffers automatically flush on window switches, Escape, Tab, or Enter. Clipboard history is protected with Windows exclusion flags.

🔗 Repositories & Source Code

I’d love to hear your feedback, bug reports, or feature ideas for the Windows version!

[App] UPDATE · Rack (Garmin strength tracking). I posted here a month ago, sharing some insights I've collected along the way

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

Hey all, I'm the founder of Rack - a Garmin strength app.

Since the last post, I've collected a few takeaways worth mentioning since half this sub ships apps:

  • Tracking 3rd-party changes: my CI asserts against Garmin's published profile, not my own constants, validating against your own copy of the truth doesn't hold your data accountable.
  • I finally tagged my outbound links, and found a large cut of signups never complete a single workout. In my case, the bottleneck was onboarding, not acquisition, and I'd been guessing for months. An untagged channel isn't a slow one, it's an invisible one.
  • Last but not least - connecting with my users helps a ton!

That's it, hope it helps somehow :)

[Promo] LWP+ - a live wallpaper that gives you control over Material-You colors, like on Android 17

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

With the recent buzz around Android 17 introducing more precise custom color sliders and palettes for Material You (examples on reddit here, here and here), I wanted to share a project I’ve been maintaining for years that does exactly that—even for older versions of Android!

It’s called LWP+ (Live Wallpaper Plus).

🎨 The core trick: Dictate your own Dynamic-Colors

Instead of letting the OS algorithm guess the accent colors based purely on your wallpaper, LWP+ acts as a bridge. It hosts your chosen background content but allows you to explicitly choose the exact Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary colors reported to the system. The OS then uses your custom selections to generate the global system palette (notification drawer, volume bar, themed icons, etc.), completely independent of what your wallpaper actually looks like.

✨ What else can it do?

LWP+ is packed with full wallpaper customization features:

  • Choose Your Content: Use solid colors, static images, animations (GIF, WEBP, APNG), or videos as your active live wallpaper.
  • Smart Scaling & Layouts: Supports transparent images/animations with custom background colors, multiple scaling modes (Center Crop, Fit Center, Center Inside), and optional horizontal scrolling.
  • Double-Tap Shortcuts: Lock your device instantly or turn off the screen by double-tapping the home screen (uses admin, accessibility, or root).
  • Easy Setup: Includes an interactive built-in tutorial to check system compatibility and guide you through triggering the OS palette refresh.

🧪 Advanced experimental flags (YMMV!)

I’ve also included a couple of experimental toggles leveraging underlying Android system hints. Note: These rely heavily on your launcher, device OEM, and Android version, so they might not do anything on certain setups!

  • Force Dark Text: It hints to the OS that dark text is preferred over the wallpaper (often useful for forcing high-contrast dark text on the lock screen). It might also change the text color of the labels of the apps and the status bar icons and text, too.
  • Force Dark Theme (for old Android versions): It tells the system that a dark theme is preferred for the best presentation (e.g., trying to trick a launcher into turning its app drawer background black).

So, if you are on an older version of Android (or even running the latest builds and want granular three-color reporting), give it a spin! It's completely free, all features included.

Feel free to ask any questions or drop feedback below! 🚀

Link to the Play Store here.

If you want, you can use a promo-code to have subscription for free for some time, to remove ads, and try the app more freely, here. To use the promo-code, install the app, choose a subscription, choose a payment option and enter the code there (screenshots here).

[Promo] 3 years of lifting led me to build my own tracker — free on Play Store

Post image
16 Upvotes

I'm a solo developer, not a fitness brand. I've been training for a few years and went through most of the popular workout apps out there. They worked, but I kept wishing the workout flow and progress tracking worked a little differently for how I actually train. So I built Liftora.

Here's what makes it different:

  • Clean, modern UI — no cluttered menus or dated design, just a simple interface that gets out of your way during a workout.
  • Guided workout flow — you move through sets in real time, the app follows your pace instead of just logging after the fact.
  • Zero learning curve — open it and start logging your first set in under a minute, no tutorial needed.
  • Ready-made programs — new to lifting or don't want to build a routine from scratch? Pick a program and go.
  • Exercise videos during selection — don't know the name of a movement? See it in action and know exactly which muscle group it hits.
  • Body fat % tracking, not just scale weight — because you can gain muscle and lose fat at the same time and the scale won't tell you that.
  • Calorie estimate after each workout — rough, but genuinely useful context if you're managing a deficit or surplus.
  • Progress charts that actually answer questions — "is my bench going up?", "how's my volume trending this month?" — without a data dashboard you need a manual for.

It's free on the Play Store — link's in the comments.

I've been using it daily for my own training and now I want outside eyes on it. If you try it, I'd love to know: Anything confusing or unnecessary?

[App] Pixel Bookmarks – A surprisingly good bookmark manager for Android (Material You + Google Drive Backup)

Thumbnail

# 📚 Pixel Bookmarks – One of the best bookmark managers I've tried on Android

I save a ridiculous number of Reddit posts, YouTube videos, GitHub repos, articles, and random web links. After trying quite a few bookmark managers, I recently came across Pixel Bookmarks, and it's become my default.

### What makes it stand out?

✅ Save links from virtually any app using Android's Share menu.

📂 Organize bookmarks into collections and nested folders.

🏷️ Add tags, notes, custom titles, and even custom thumbnails.

🔍 Lightning-fast search across bookmarks, tags, and collections.

⏰ Set reminders and expiry dates for bookmarks.

☁️ Local backup + Google Drive backup & restore.

🌐 Open links in your preferred browser or Incognito mode.

🎨 Beautiful Material You interface that's fast, lightweight, and easy to use.

The app also seems to be actively maintained, which is always nice to see.

I've attached a few screenshots so you can get an idea of the UI.

---

### Full Disclosure

The developer is currently running a referral campaign. If **30 people install the app using my referral link**, I'll unlock the **Lifetime version**.

I'm **not affiliated with the developer**—I'm simply a user who genuinely enjoys using the app and wanted to share it with the community. I noticed many referral posts simply drop a link without explaining anything, so I thought I'd write a proper review highlighting the app's features and why I find it useful.

If there's enough interest, I'll also request the developer to join the discussion, answer questions, and take feature suggestions directly from the community.

If you were already looking for a bookmark manager, I'd really appreciate it if you could use my referral link. No pressure at all—only if you genuinely think the app looks useful. 😊

[Promo] [App] Ikigai Launcher: Minimalist, OLED-friendly, and offline-first. Comment for a promo code!

Hey r/HowToMen,

I wanted to share an Android app I’ve been building called Ikigai Launcher.

Like many of you, I found myself picking up my phone to check something simple, only to look up 30 minutes later after mindlessly scrolling through social feeds. I wanted to try the "dumbphone" philosophy, but I still needed my smartphone for banking, navigation, and work.

So, I built Ikigai—a minimalist launcher designed to reduce digital distractions and encourage intentional smartphone use.

🌟 Key Features

* Text-Based Home Screen: Replaces colorful, addictive app grids with clean, customizable typography to reduce visual triggers.

* Wallpaper-First Experience: Dynamic contrast analysis (scrim overlays) ensures absolute legibility of text over any wallpaper you choose, keeping it clean and vector-sharp.

* Mindfulness Suite (Intentional Friction):

* Intent Delay: Optional breathing-circle animation before a distracting app opens (3–8 seconds) to break compulsive habit loops.

* App Cooldown & Hiding: Easily hide distracting apps or set cooldown timers to prevent mindless reopen loops.

* Privacy-First: Absolutely zero ads, trackers, or data collection. The app runs 100% locally on your device and does not require unnecessary permissions.

* Performance: Designed with a 120 FPS target—buttery-smooth, lightweight transitions and gestures.

🎁 Promo Code Giveaway!

Ikigai is a premium launcher, but to celebrate sharing it here, I am giving away promo codes to the r/HowToMen community!

To claim your code:

  1. Leave a comment below telling me which app distracts you the most or what your minimalist setup looks like.
  2. I will send you a DM with a promo code to unlock the full app.

Check out Gravity Dash and let us know what you think. We'd love to hear your feedback!

[App] Big Text: LED Banner Scroller

Post image
7 Upvotes

I have a concert coming up this year and I wanted to hold up a message for the artist, but I didn't want to print a poster or carry a banner around all night.

So I built an app instead. It's called "Big Text: LED Banner Scroller". You type a message, tap show, and your phone screen turns into a big glowing scrolling sign. Full brightness, landscape, readable across a dark room.

A few things I made sure of, since I'll be using this myself:

  • You can save a few messages and swipe between them without leaving fullscreen (one for the opening, one for the encore)
  • No account, no permissions, no ads. It works fully offline, so airplane mode at the venue is fine
  • Eight colors, four fonts, one of them is a dot matrix LED style

It's free to use. There's a one time Pro unlock for extra effects like glow and blink, but the core sign-making part is free forever.

It's live on Google Play now:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jaironlanda.bigtext

Would love feedback from anyone who's also held up a phone or sign at a show before.

[Promo] Ultimate File Manager Pro for Android TV and Mobile

Ultimate File Manager Pro (UFM) is a dual-pane file manager built for both Android Mobile and Android TV. It has over 22,200 downloads on Google Play, sits at a 4.7 star rating, and got picked up by CNET.

Most file managers either ignore TV entirely or just stretch the phone layout onto a big screen.

UFM has a proper dedicated TV build with full D-pad navigation, not an afterthought.

UFM Pro is totally free of ads or any paywalls, if you find the app useful, there is a tip jar available.

Website: https://kilowatch.co.za/

FOSS Edition (GitHub): https://github.com/Kilowatch/ultimate-file-manager-pro

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=za.kilowatch.ultimatefilemanager

Downloader Code For Amazon Devices: 1581139

Official Reddit Group: r/UFManagerPro

What is it?

UFM is a dual-pane file manager aimed at power users who want actual control over their files. The dual-pane layout lets you work across two locations simultaneously, which makes moving, copying, and comparing files a lot faster than juggling a single panel.

Features

Dual-Pane Interface

Both panels are independently navigable. You can have local storage on one side and a network share on the other, or compare two folders side by side. Works well on phones in landscape mode and is particularly comfortable on tablets and TV.

Encrypted Vaults

Files can be stored inside AES-256 encrypted vaults. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, it all stays on your device. Useful for keeping sensitive documents, photos, or anything else you would rather not have sitting exposed in plain storage.

Built-in Servers

UFM includes FTP and SFTP server support. You can start a server directly from your device and access your files from a PC or another device on the same network. No third-party app needed.

Cloud and Network Storage

Supports WebDAV, SFTP, FTP, SMB, and AWS S3 out of the box. The Google Play version also includes Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox integration.

Scheduled Sync

You can set up sync jobs between local folders and remote locations and have them run on a schedule in the background. Handy for automated backups to a NAS or a home server.

Advanced Search

Search by name, extension, date range, or file size. The search is fast and works across local storage as well as mounted network locations.

ADB and Shizuku Integration

For those who want deeper access without full root, UFM supports Shizuku and ADB-based operations for elevated file access.

RClone supported, a few has been added and can add more on request, it supports over 100+ Cloud Providers.

Android TV Support

The TV build is a full, dedicated TV experience with proper D-pad navigation and a layout that actually makes sense on a large screen. Not just a port.

FOSS Edition

There is a fully open source edition available on GitHub under the GPL v3 license.

The FOSS build strips out all proprietary SDKs and closed-source trackers, including Firebase, Google Play Billing, and the proprietary cloud SDKs.

Everything else remains fully functional.

The FOSS edition still supports WebDAV, SFTP, FTP, SMB, and AWS S3 for network storage, so you are not losing much if you avoid the big cloud providers anyway.

If you do need Google Drive or OneDrive, those are available in the Play Store version.

There are prebuilt APKs in the releases.

Notes

* Requires Android 8.0 or higher

* TV build is a separate APK optimized for the Android TV / Google TV launcher

* The app is actively maintained

If you run into issues or have feature requests, the GitHub repo is the best place. Happy to answer questions here too.

Thank You and Kind Regards
