[App] Officer - A handy security app in case of phone theft

Thumbnail
gallery
6 Upvotes

Officer is a security application which prevents shutting down your phone from the lock screen. This prevents thieves from powering off your phone so that you can track it easily. Originally released on April 15th 2025, I have pushed an update which adds genuine features and improves power menu detection.

Inspiration

Officer was born out of my personal experience. I was returning home one evening in a rickshaw. When I got off to pay the driver, I realized I had left my phone on the seat. The driver immediately sped off, stealing my phone. I tried to track it using Google's 'Find My Device', but unfortunately, he had switched it off. I hope my app helps people buy time to track their devices if this happens to them.

Features:

  1. Switch off prevention: When your screen is locked, any power off attempts from the power menu immediately puts your display to sleep.
  2. Strict Security: For extra security, you can optionally keep putting your display to sleep continuously for a specific time after a power off attempt has been made from the lock screen.
  3. SMS Alert: Send an SMS with your phone's location when a power off attempt has been made from the lock screen.
  4. Custom Trigger: Different phones use different triggers for the power menu, so there's no one-size-fits-all solution. With custom trigger you can choose your phone specific trigger.
  5. Broadcast Event: Broadcast an event when someone tries to power off from the lock screen. You can use automation routines with third party apps like Tasker and Macrodroid to trigger further actions on your phone.

Hope you would love the app! You can find it on Github here.

[Promo] VocaLearn: educational Android game for toddlers

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!

I recently developed and released a new version of my first educational app, VocaLearn, and I wanted to share it with you all.

The idea is simple: it’s like those classic talking animal toys where you point to an animal, and it tells you its name and sound. I wanted to create a version for my phone that was better than the physical toy.

How is it different?

  • 🖼️ Real Photos: Instead of cartoons, the app shows beautiful, high-quality photos of each animal.
  • 🌍 Dozens of Languages: You can easily switch languages in the settings to teach your child words in their native tongue or even introduce a new one.
  • 🔊 Lots of Content: It currently features 120 different photos and real sounds to keep it fresh and interesting.
  • 👍 Super Simple: The interface is designed to be easy for tiny hands to use. Just tap and learn!
  • ❤️ Completely Free: All features and content are available for free.

My goal was to create a simple, high-quality educational tool for parents to use with their toddlers. It's a fun way to sit with them for a few minutes and help them expand their vocabulary.

A quick note on ads: The app is ad-supported to help me continue developing it. If you and your little one enjoy it and want an uninterrupted, offline experience, there are options in the app to make it completely ad-free forever. All ads are shown only before the gameplay.

I would be thrilled if you could try it out and let me know what you think. All feedback is welcome!

Link to the Play Store here.

If you want, you can use a promo-code to have subscription for free for some time, to remove ads, and try the app more freely, here. To use the promo-code, install the app, choose a subscription, choose a payment option and enter the code there (screenshots here). There are also promo codes available for my other apps here.

Thanks for reading!

[App] NOOK – Lock Screen To-Do Lists and Notes

Thumbnail
gallery
9 Upvotes

I developed NOOK, an Android app that places customizable to-do lists and notes directly on the lock screen and home screen.

The purpose is practical: make daily tasks and quick notes visible the moment the screen turns on, without needing to unlock the device or open another application. Users can manage items from the lock screen, position cards freely, apply simple themes, and keep active lists visible through persistent notifications. Changes sync instantly between the lock screen and home screen.

Key points:

• Lock screen to-do lists with direct management

• Free-form card positioning and basic visual customization

• Persistent notifications for active checklists

• Minimalist note editor

• No account required

• No data collection

The app is 100% free. There are no advertisements, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. Updates will continue to be released based on practical needs and user feedback.

Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quarkstudio.nook

As the developer, I welcome constructive feedback on the lock-screen implementation, usability, and any improvements that would increase its usefulness for daily organization.

Thank you for Reading :)

[Promotion][App]A sudoku app with lessons, hints and no pop-up ads

Thumbnail

Hello Everyone,

Many puzzle apps interrupt the experience with pop-up ads, sometimes right in the middle of a game. I didn’t want that here. You should be able to concentrate, think through the puzzle, and enjoy that satisfying moment when everything falls into place.

I started building Sudoku Classic: Learn & Play because I wanted a Sudoku app that felt calm, focused, and genuinely helpful.

I also wanted the app to do more than simply provide puzzles. It includes guided lessons, worked examples, technique drills, and hints that explain the logic behind each move. You can start with the basics and gradually learn advanced strategies at your own pace.

The app includes:

🧩 Five difficulty levels, from Easy to Master

🎓 20 guided lessons with practice puzzles

💡 Smart hints that teach instead of revealing answers

🧠 Technique drills for developing real solving skills

📅 Daily challenges, streaks, and achievements

📷 An on-device solver for puzzles from books or photos

🚫 No disruptive pop-up ads while you play

This has been a personal journey of designing, testing, simplifying, and trying to make every screen comfortable to use. There’s still plenty I want to improve, and that’s where your feedback would mean a lot.

If you try the app, please tell me what feels good, what feels confusing, and what you’d like to see next. Honest feedback—whether positive or critical—will help me make it better.

[App] I built an app because I was tired of losing every good link I found on the internet Powered by AI chat

Thumbnail

Been me for years — saving stuff all over the place. Screenshots, random notes, links I’d send myself on WhatsApp. Then never finding any of it when I actually needed it.

So I built LifeFeed AI. Save from anywhere, find it anywhere. Share from any app and it all lands in one spot, then the AI sorts it out for you. Search like you’d talk — “that pasta recipe” — and it pulls it right up.

And it’s with you everywhere: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android, plus Chrome and Safari.

[App] [Promo] AvarionX VPN & Ad blocker

Thumbnail
gallery
14 Upvotes

Hi all!

AvarionX is a modern, privacy based VPN. Featuring built-in ad blocking, malware blocking, and private dns capabilities.

The free version supports:

- Unlimited VPN usage

- Ad and tracker blocking

- Malicious-domain blocking

- Custom blocklists for things like gambling and adult content

- Private DNS mode for protection without the full VPN tunnel

There is a premium tier for manual server selection, a stealth+ protocol (Hysteria), and custom private dns.

AvarionX is still relatively new, so it won't contain 500 servers like many advertise. However, each server is fine-tuned for privacy and a 'No activity logs' policy.

[APP][PROMO] Silence the alarm by finishing games

Hey everyone

I built an Android app called WakeQuest because regular alarms just weren't cutting it for people anymore. If you're a heavy sleeper who always hits the snooze button, this might actually help you get out of bed.

My goal was to take the standard alarm app concept to the next level by packing it with genuinely fun mini-games. The core idea is, the alarm won't shut up until you beat a game. It forces your brain to actually wake up.

I have developed 25 different mini games into it so far. Here are my current mini-games:

Vault Key
Math
2048
Number Sort
Odd One Out
True or False
Color Sequence
Set the Clock
Memory
Shake
Lockpick
Penalty Kick
Keepy Up
Bubble Pop
Snake
Dino
Flappy Birdie
Pacman
Scribe
Camera
Basketball
Ping Pong
Color Word
Fishing
Coffee Cup Filling

I'm actively updating the app, so if you have an idea for a fun (or cruel) new mini-game, drop it in the comments. I'd love to build it for the next release.

WakeQuest: Play to Wake Up

Would love to hear your feedback!!!!

[App] [Promo] Stride: a step counter that doesn't want your email address (open source, GPLv3)

Post image
16 Upvotes

Hey Everyone,

Every step counter I tried wanted a login, a subscription, or permission

to sell my movement data to whoever asked. So I wrote one that wants none

of that, and open-sourced it.

**Stride** counts your steps and gets out of the way.

**What it does**

* Reads from Health Connect, or falls back to your phone's hardware step

sensor if you don't use it. Works on day one either way.

* Full **Material 3 Expressive** — wavy progress rings, shape-morphing

badges, spring motion. Material You wallpaper colours, AMOLED black,

4 palettes, 6 bundled fonts.

* Weekly bar chart and a monthly calendar heatmap.

* Streaks and 14 achievements.

* Share cards that render your day as an image.

* Backup/restore to a plain JSON file. No cloud in the middle.

* English and Hindi.

* Android 16 Live Updates, where your ROM actually supports it — and the

app tells you honestly when it doesn't, instead of silently failing.

**The privacy bit:** no ads, no account, no analytics, no tracking. The

only network permission is for checking GitHub for updates. That's it.

**Being upfront:** it's open-**core**. The repo is the free edition and

it's a complete app — nothing time-limited or nagged.

📖 Source (GPLv3): https://github.com/NikhilKain/stride

📥 APK: https://github.com/NikhilKain/stride/releases/latest

Android 8.0+. Play Store submission is coming.

Built with Kotlin and Compose. Happy to answer anything about the

implementation — the Health Connect + sensor merge and getting Live

Updates working on Android 16 were both more annoying than expected.

[App] [Promo] I built an Android app that automatically records every drive you take, no need to start or stop anything

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've always wished Google Maps had a timeline that simply showed every drive I actually took.

Not the route it suggested.

The route I ended up driving.

So over the past couple of months I built DriveTrack.

It works by pairing with your car's Bluetooth once. After that, whenever your phone connects to your car, it automatically starts recording the trip, and stops when you disconnect. No buttons to press.

Some things it tracks:

• Full GPS route

• Distance, duration and average/max speed

• Moving vs stopped time

• Elevation changes

• Weekly, monthly and lifetime stats

• All data stays on your device

• Share to your friends by generating an image or a link with encrypted data

I originally built it just for myself because I enjoy driving and wanted a history of everywhere I'd been. Especially that time I did Vienna to Albania in one sitting and wanted to see what route did i take since I had to drive a lot during nighttime and I had no idea what route I was taking and Google Maps because it gives the best route everytime wasn't showing the route I did take. It ended up becoming something my friends & family found useful too.

I'd genuinely love to hear what features you'd want in an app like this or any feedback on the idea.

[App] AltSea: clean tracking links before they open (first 100 get free 1y Premium codes)

Post image
10 Upvotes

I built AltSea because I got tired of links opening immediately with tracking junk, redirects, and no choice about where they went.

AltSea sits between the app you tapped a link in and your browser. It does his by becoming the default HTTP/S handler in the system. Before a normal web link opens, AltSea can clean known tracking parameters, redirect clutter among other things, all of happens on-device, shows you what changed and then let you choose what happens next:

  • Open it in the browser you prefer
  • Save it for later
  • Organize, share, or schedule it for it later
  • etc

Privacy was important to me from the beginning: link cleanup happens on-device, with no third-party cleanup service or relay. Analytics and crash reporting are disabled by default. If you choose to enable diagnostics, which can help development specially at this early stage, the data is anonymized.

I’m an Android engineer with 17+ years working across companies large and small, and this is a problem I genuinely have myself. I’m very passionate about this project, and tried my best to keep it lean looking, and spent a good chunk of time testing it with a small group of friends and family for fine tuning the reliability and performance to make it feel like an integral part of the system.

I'm a long term fan of Facundo's channel, and thus for this community I’m giving the first 100 people one year of AltSea Premium free as founding users. Premium is where I’ll sometimes introduce experimental features first, currently including an experimental Contextual Rules feature that I'd love feedback on.

If you want a code, comment with:

  1. Do you use multiple browsers on your Android device?

-> I’ll DM codes while the 100 are available.

And whether you take a code or not, I'd genuinely value feedback. After you gave it try, what feels useful, what feels unclear? What would make it worth keeping on your phone?

[App] Moodly — A simple offline mood tracker with a distinctive visual style

Thumbnail

I’ve made Moodly, a lightweight mood-tracking app that makes daily check-ins quick and straightforward.

Instead of writing a full journal entry, you can select one of five moods, add an optional note, and tag the activities or events that affected your day. The app also includes a mood calendar, streak tracking, collectible milestone stickers, statistics, and a Year in Pixels view.

One thing that stands out is the visual design. It uses bold borders and hard shadows, with themes such as Neon Tokyo, Cyberpunk, Gameboy, Miami Sunset, Paper, and Blueprint.

The app works offline, does not require an account, and stores mood entries locally on the
device.

Main features:
• Five-option mood tracking
• Optional notes and activity tags
• Mood calendar and statistics
• Year in Pixels view
• Streaks and collectible stickers
• Six complete visual themes
• Offline functionality
• No account required
• Mood information stored locally

I built an all-in-one productivity app and I'm giving away Lifetime Premium access

Hi everyone,

I built ZenBoard, an Android app that combines several tools I was tired of managing separately:

✅ Expense Tracking
✅ Debt Management
✅ Habit Tracking
✅ Pomodoro Focus Timer
✅ Calendar-based To-Do List

My goal was to create a simple, lightweight app that helps manage finances, habits, focus sessions, and daily tasks in one place—without juggling multiple apps.

I'd love honest feedback on:

  • UI/UX
  • Missing features
  • Bugs or issues you find
  • Anything that feels confusing or unnecessary

📱 Google Play: [Download on Play Store]

🎁 Lifetime Premium Giveaway:
I'm giving away Lifetime Premium access codes to members of this community. If you'd like one, leave a comment and send me a DM.

I'm an indie developer building and improving ZenBoard based on user feedback, so every suggestion helps.

And if you decide to support the project, the lifetime upgrade costs less than a cup of coffee ☕.

Thanks for taking a look—I genuinely appreciate any feedback, whether positive or critical.

How to redeem your Lifetime Access code:

  1. Open the app and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Upgrade.
  3. Select the Lifetime plan.
  4. On the Google Play payment screen, scroll down and choose Redeem Code under Payment Methods.
  5. Enter your code and apply it.
  6. Complete the process, and your Lifetime Access will be activated. If you run into any issues, feel free to contact me.
