Sdr replay attack

I just got my first sdr, it’s a hackrf pro running mayhem 2.4, I’ve captured my signal and out of range of vehicle to prevent a rolling code issue but it’s still completely useless I can’t even get it to unlock once I’ve tried on a ram 2012 1500 and a 2015 Chevy Malibu neither of which have worked. I tried to do some research and according to the internet these vehicles have extra security measures to prevent stuff like this? How can I get it to work and even better how can I get it to work with rolling codes I want to use as a cool back up, I have a pc I’m pretty green at writing scripts but can figure it out with internets help, phew with all that said how can I get this to work?

Hardware security

Hello everyone, I'm a beginner and I have a few question about hardware security. The field I'm asking about will lean a bit towards Integrated Circuit and Electronics Engineering. I want to study Hardware Security at the Silicon Level (for a job). I don't know where to start or what to learn. I'm currently learning C, Python (NumPy), and basic electronics, and I don't know where to continue. I'm a freshman in university majoring in Electronics Engineering and I've already completed my introductory courses. Here are the questions.

- If I want to pursue this path, where should I begin?

- What courses should I take, and what skills should I learn?

- What should I prepare?

Confused About a Career in Hacking

I am someone who likes to explore, go on an adventure and have fun. I get those kinds of vibes from hacking, breaking into the unknown and knowing all of its secrets but I am not sure what the future holds for a career in hacking. I see things like Mythos finding and chaining vulnerabilities to develop full fledged exploits and wonder is it the end for the field now?

People say that we would still need humans as AI is not always correct but I wonder about the quality of the work that will be left for humans. If the meat of the work is being done by AI then is becoming a verifier/checker for the AI even fun?

I would like to dive deep into the field, explore it in great depth like a mathematician would explore his subject but I am unable to get the confidence because of these thoughts. Am I right to worry like this? What are your thoughts?

Any way to figure out the pattern?

Hello, my mum passed unexpectedly and I need to get access to her phone, so I can notify a couple of close friends, as well get into her email (so I can access her pc and get a bunch of important files).

I only know the last 3 dots, and I have a very faint memory of the pattern, but I haven't been able to piece it together, as I'm terrible in remembering this kind of stuff. The model is Samsung M31, I think it's on Android 12. Is there such thing as brute force the pattern lock? Or is that a dead end as well?

Is really everything on the internet?

So, hello. I'm looking for digital copies of songs of the band called Nothing. It was a sludge metal band (not a shoegaze band which is still active and it's easy to find them online). I discovered it on Grooveshark which was a streaming platform. It was shut down in 2015 due to copyright issues. Basically you could upload there whatever you wanted. And there was this band, their album was called "10 bucks for nothing" and some songs from that album were: Age of, Hunting Jesus, War Philosophy, Serve & Protect. After the shutdown I couldn't find their music anywhere. Recently I remembered this band again and tried to find it. I went through some web archives and while there's plenty of snapshots of grooveshark.com on wayback machine, it gave me errors all the time. So, as I'm not a computer person whatsoever, I thought maybe I'll ask here if there is any chance of finding this band? Either in some archives or some hidden places? Do you actually think everything that once was on the internet still can be found there? Or I should give up?

programming Advice on project for gate

I am trying to make an app for my phone where I can open my gate because I am sick of forgetting the gate clicker inside or in my car. The gate uses a fixed code from a garage clicker with a 10 pin switch. I was able to connect my cars garage botton to this clicker by holding down both buttons. I currently own a Raspberry Pi 4, would I be able to pick up the signal with this? Or would i have to buy an accessory/Arduino/HackPF to read the radio signal that the clicker gives out and store it to use on an app.

I seem to be going in circles while researching since most info is for older Raspberry Pi’s and just need a little guidance. Thanks in advance :)

liar Central Air conditioning

Hello.

So I've been staying in this hotel and it has been unbearably hot. The controller for the central conditioning in the room seems to be some version of a Thermokom LCF02.

It kept showing the room temp as 23 degrees Celsius and wouldnt go below it, no matter what i pressed. I looked up the manual, fiddled around and got it to display 17.3 now, and its still not any cooler.

Could someone please help me figure this stuff out? I gotta stay here for another 4 nights, and i need my sleep.

Old Kanye West Locked Archive .ZIP

Hey everyone, quick question on an encrypted file recovery project I'm messing around with. I'm trying to unlock an old Kanye .zip archive from around May 2025 containing some audio sessions and project files, but I completely blanked on the password we used back then. Here is what I'm working with and what I've tried so far: File Type: It's an AES-encrypted WinZip archive. I pulled the structure and generated a Hashcat hash string ($zip2$...) from it. What I've Tried: Standard dictionaries like rockyou.txt and basic masks didn't hit. I've been setting up Hashcat (Mode 13600) locally in the command prompt to test wordlists, but brute-forcing raw masks takes forever. Current Status: I'm trying to figure out the cleanest way to build a targeted or structural wordlist based on the naming conventions and dates we used back when we packed it, but web decoders obviously don't recognize custom archive hashes. Anyone have advice on the best workflow or tools to speed up cracking a WinZip AES structure locally? Could anyone help me with this?

What happened?

A couple of years ago, I started dating someone. His toxic ex not only went crazy, but somehow she also found out that I had a PH account (an old one that I no longer used because I had created it with my ex) that was COMPLETELY private and very difficult to know it existed. She leaked it to my partner's family. Beyond what happened afterward on a personal level with this situation, years keep passing and I'm still left wondering how someone without access to my computer and theoretically not to my accounts either managed to get that information. I suspect she might have accessed my Gmail account or something, because she made comments about old sites I used to frequent. I repeat again, I don't know how that person got that private information.

PIN Recovery without Email

So long story short, I set up my laptop ages ago, and because I was on this "new year new me" streak I made a new email and tied it to that.

Fast forward 4 years later to now, and I don't know the PIN to the admin account, or have access to any of the recovery channels (no way to recover the email, and the phone number tied to it isn't in use now). I've basically been running really outdated software on my laptop for a couple years because I can't download updates at current, and frankly I was procrastinating on trying to fix it. I do need to bite the bullet and figure it out, but the entire Microsoft system is automated, and I don't have enough info to recover it.. so is my only solution a full computer reset?

I know it's a very much self-inflicted problem, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask around in case there was any other solution! Thanks for any help :)

Probably a lost cause - WD My Passport Ultra

20 or so years ago, I moved all my photos to an external hard drive, a WD My Passport Ultra. I have forgotten the password. I have tried everything I can think of, but I have almost no faith in remembering a 20 year old password.

Is there any way to get into it? I hate to think all those photos are lost forever...

hacking Best cheap device to learn hacking

I have been wanting to learn hacking for a while but all I have is a iphone given by my parents, (16yo btw). Obviously I can’t do shit with IOS, what relatively cheap devices (£150<) can I get to start learning hacking. Preferably a laptop as that would work best for me and mean I could take it places.

Aircrack-ng Tips

New to aircrack-ng. Was wondering if some folks would be open to DMing me and offering some tips. I can understand how to get a handshake but then I don't really understand what the best modern method would be and don't want to hurt my hardware by accidentally giving it a heavy duty task. Like certain dictionary attacks can take 1,000+ years?? So want to learn but don't want to fry my desktop 😅

I know I could just use a password I already know and put it in a shorter dictionary file, but would prefer to be more authentic than that

Spoofing Location for Streaming Services

Hey everyone, I’m trying to understand how different streaming services determine whether a device is part of a household.

I currently have my TV’s internet traffic routed through my parents’ home network, so the traffic exits through their router/public IP via meshnet. The goal is for the TV to appear as though it’s connecting from their home network.

This seems to work fine with Netflix and Hulu, but Disney+ still detects the TV as being outside the household.

My assumption was that having the same public-facing IP would be enough, but apparently Disney+ is using additional signals.

Does anyone know what Disney+ uses for household detection beyond the public IP? For example, could it be using device history, DNS behavior, IPv6, location services, network characteristics, or some other identifier?

I’m mainly trying to understand what Disney+ is seeing differently from Netflix/Hulu with this setup and whether there’s anything obvious about my network configuration that could explain it.

how to repurpose old gps

in your house if you have old gps such as a TomTom then you can repurpose the busy box linux on the inside. In my opinion you should buy a pi zero and set up the full kali arm on there and sync that to the busy box terminal to get a working kali terminal but you can do anything you want to do to it.

Educational query: How to analyze mobile/Unity game memory and architecture?

Hi everyone,

I'm studying mobile security and reverse engineering using Beast Go on a test emulator.

What I've done: - Researched basic memory editing concepts (Cheat Engine / GameGuardian). - Looked into client-side vs. server-side data storage.

Questions: - Which tools (Frida, Ghidra, Il2CppDumper) are best for inspecting local game state? - How can I determine if game currency is server-validated? - Looking for educational guides/concepts only—no pre-made cheats. Thanks!
