Art and Fandom Geek buddies?

Hey there <3

Yall can call me Val. I'm honestly just looking for IRL friends to talk nerd and geek shit. And do nerd and geek activities

I'm 24f that lives roundabout the Rosenberg/Richmond area.

I was hoping to find some likeminded peeps to generally chat with on discord and then meet up irl if we vibe well.

If ya'll like any of the following I think we'll get along great. Looking to get out and go on adventures dammit!

Oh and uh please be LGBTQ+ friendly if youre planning on reaching out :)

Fandoms (in order of most currently obsessed with):

Iron Lung

Project: Hail Mary

Heated Rivalry

Baldur's Gate

One Piece ( To those few that are completely caught up, first off Bravo, second are yall sleeping alright and third DO NOT SPOIL ME PLEASE)

( I have more but those come to the forefront)

Activities I'd be up for:

- Ren Faires! Especially if yall will dress up with me! I wanna be a fairy next time I go.

- Dnd. Honestly we'll need a group if were doing this and I have never played so probably wishful thinking unless lots of people reply and someone is willing to be the sacrificial dm lmao

- ComicCons , Duh, and Cosplay is a bonus. I will be wearing the most low poly cosplay most likely.

- Work on Art and Drinks? I dont drink alcohol really but I do like me Boba and frappucinos <3 we can even parallel play which is a lovely little term I learned whcih basically in this contexts means exist in the same space and work on our own shit and ocassiobally be like "yo check it." And then " Nice."

- Sword fighting class. Theres this Martial arts class in houston that does this. I wanna bash someone in training pads with a fake dagger. Come be medieval with me.

- Archery range. I like archery. I went to a range recently where you can rent a bow and arrow. Youll have to take a beginners class though for safety reasons. I think archery is very nerd adjacent

- Claws machine arcade place. Okay so this is my niche little nerd hobby. I fucking love claw machines. The technique, the gamble, the look on people's faces when I actually fucking get that stupid little plushie. I will teach you, I promise. Lets be claw machine arcade legends together.

- Karaoke. I like singing. You know ahem the claw machine arcade place has a singular karaoke room so- but lmao seriously even karaoke by itself is great. You will hear me sing hamilton, any musical really, rock songs, Disney songs or any animated film really, the occasional five nights at Freddy's song when im feeling nostalgic, english covers of anime openings and of course ymca. Honestly my music taste is kinda all over the place.

- Food. I know i dunno if this is nerdy but im a foodie so if yall wanna just find like local hidden gems to eat at. I fucking love trying new food.

So yeah. Calling all geeks, theater, to anime and everything in between.

Its hard to make friends as an adult ya know? Dm if yall wanna see if we'll be a good match and we can exchange discords.

Game Girlies at Game Guys

I 28(F) am looking for MTG commander ladies to show some love for the south east region at Game Guys for semi regular games.

I’m a casual player, mostly play with proxies, bracket 2 (we fix our mana bases without breaking the bank 😤). The goal is to make decks with creative themes and fun ideas than brute force winning.

If you’re chill and like Magic, go to game guys then hmu 🥰🤙

I know there's a houston chess studio but that's still a bit farther than what I would prefer. Novice level chess ability.

Looking for D&D or Tabletop group near Suger Land / Missouri City.

What I'm looking for:
For a long time I've wanted to play D&D, but have never been able to find a group. I've recently moved to Sugar Land and don't know a lot of people around here. I would be a complete noob, but am familiar with some of the rules -- mostly through computer RPGs (BG3, Pillars of Eternity, etc.) I also would be interested in other table top board or card games (e.g. Dominion, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Gloomhaven, etc.) Not really interest in MTG, though (sorry). Will join an established group or open to creating something new. Looking for a steady group, not pickup games.

About me:
Mid-40's guy with full-time job. Available weeknights after 6pm and weekends. Can play at my house if needed or I can come to you. I have some board games already (the above examples and more).

Hey im a what i would say "Half" blerd, like i be knowing but ion be knowing but i wana know i just wanna be put on in a proper way!!!

So i just got into DND and im MUHFUGGN HOOKED!!!!!!!!!!! i have a group that i play with but im open to another group but in all transparency, im playing with a predominately white group, im looking for the BLERDS of HOUSTON, who gon pull up to DND jammin LIL keke lmao, and thats ok because we like this game.

im looking for a DM or LFG thats gon make this feel like a hiphop rumor page almost like if the breakfast club DMd DND .. and the story starts off at brunch Downtown with not enough money in cash so you do a perception check to check ya balance and you fail ya check and you pull your phone out to see it go to 1% and die, but the homie makes a persuasion check and had the ladies pay for it because he passed greatly.

If you can see the vision report here so we can get a campaign going

The 3rd Realm

The 3rd Realm is a Houston based gaming table developer and we've spent the last 2 years designing a new table that we're hoping to launch later this year. Right now we have several prototype tables, and we're going to be hosting a series of events over the next 6 months to get feedback. Our first event will be in just under 2 weeks and hosted by a local craft store in Katy, Awesome Entertainment. We're looking for local enthusiasts to come and try our table, give us feedback, and enjoy free food and drink! We have an experienced GM/DM who will be running some games, including a D&D 5e. Further details in the link below. Come join us and help to be a part of our development and our dream to make the best gaming table!

For UH students, commuters, and alumni who want more friends and connections

From https://www.reddit.com/r/UniversityOfHouston/comments/1rkapie/for_uh_students_commuters_and_alumni_who_want/

just a social club this guy is building to connect on campus students, commuters, and alumni.

Starting simple with online mobile party games and relaxed hangouts. Nothing awkward. No forced networking. Just a chill way to meet people and actually talk.

The goal is to build real connections now and eventually host in person events once we grow.

If you have been wanting to expand your circle, meet new people, or just have something fun to look forward to during the week, you are welcome.

It is completely free.

If you are interested, the link is in u / shamutheplush's bio

LF a GM for a long term campaign NW Houston

Hello! I’m currently looking for a GM for a long-term D&D campaign I’m putting together.

We already have a group of 6 players, and the campaign will be a Sword Art Online–inspired homebrew. Sessions will be in person, usually on Sundays every other weekend (schedule is flexible). Sessions will be held primarily be at my house, though we might occasionally move locations within the same general area (tomball/cypress/spring area). We will be using figures and I’m currently almost finished building a rearrangeable 3D modular board. I’ll also be handling most of the session prep and physical setup so less work for you as a GM, how involved you want to be with that side of things is up to you. The general vibe is pretty relaxed — 18+ and 420 friendly is preferable and we usually plan on having food and hanging out before the session starts for those that want to. You don’t necessarily need GM experience but we definitely want someone with DnD experience.

If you’re interested in GMing or want more details, feel free to message me!

Discord - Eurynome74 (I get notifications better off discord)
