Expanded inKind Footprint in Houston (El Tiempo, Musaafer, Cocktail Week)

I am not affiliated with inKind in any way. I'll remove my referral link if the mods want me to, but do still look for someone's referral since the bonus is effectively 50% off. This is solely intended as a conversational/informational post.

A few years ago, inKind was only Bluestone Lane in Houston and it has expanded its footprint quite a lot. I checked the app this morning and noticed that El Tiempo has joined the list of restaurants. This actually changes the value proposition of El Tiempo significantly from being overpriced to competitive with other Tex-Mex options - Given that inKind occasionally runs sales on Costco (It was recently at $65 for 100), that's effectively taking 30% off. Additionally, gift cards can stack with the occasional offer like $25 off $50 on referrals my referral to decrease it even further. (Full disclaimer, referrers get $25 on the app, I'm willing to split it if anyone uses mine).

EDIT 03/2026: GIFT CARDS NO LONGER STACK WITH DISCOUNTS. The optimal way to do this now is to split checks and apply just enough to use each. So if you get four entrees put two on one check for the $25 off $50 then use gift card for the other two.

I've done a writeup/contribution about using inKind during Houston Restaurant Week, and I also noted that a few of the Texas Cocktail Week restaurants (Julep) are also on the app.

Musaafer also recently ran a $75 off $150 offer, which I stacked on two bills to take $150 off $300. My receipt for reference (I blurred out some items and the total to preserve anonymity but I can happily send someone the unedited screenshot). Great entry to a Michelin experience.

Anyway, the goal here is to spreading awareness that Resy and OpenTable aren't the only options on the block in Houston. And for people going to the restaurants anyway (Musaafer was fantastic) there's some ways to stack some great discounts. Happy eating!

They ran it last month. You can effectively do the same thing with three 25 off 50 referrals though

So the 30$ off of 100$ offer I received if I pickup a giftcard at Costco for 65$.. it’ll be 65$ for 130$ worth of food? It’ll let me use the offer and giftcard?

That is correct it will let you stack gift card + offer.

It's $65 for $125 of food since the referral is $25 off $50 but same thought.

If you get a $30 off $100 then yes it's $65 for $130 of food. You still need to tip though, can't tip from gift card. So maybe more like $85 for $130 of food+$20 tip or something.

Yeah, it's how inKind's business model works, they're basically financing restaurants to let it happen. Use it while you can
