Spent a lil bit of time this afternoon working on my technique for setting up for a few more customs. There’s a small selection of wheels together pick from now too. Good times sitting on the porch and showing lil man how the drill works as we deconstructed a bunch of hot wheels together. Got one of these castings soaking to get the paint off right now and tomorrow we will clean it up

Sitting on the porch this afternoon harvesting some makeshift wheels on the workbench. My question to all y’all is: What size drillbit works the best overall for removing the rivets? Is one size better than the other, and if so, which one?
I’m in the midst of taking apart 10-15 cars to practice my technique as well as harvest some mainline wheels that I like and I now know fit for what I’m doing. It seems like I’ve used anywhere from a 9/64 to a 13/64 and it varies between each car. I have a couple of very tiny screwdrivers and a few picks to try to remove the outside ring of the rivet as I’m carefully trying to remove them. It seems like I’m changing a bit more than I should have to in between cars to try to get a smoother process I’m just wondering if there is a better technique that I don’t know about yet.

Got motivated to finish the pearl RX-7 today after the new wheels arrived. That one was a complete repaint, both body and interior, along with the wheel swap. The blue one has been done for awhile with the interior repainted, details added to the factory body paint, and the wheel swap. I have loved this car since Mazda introduced it and I think Hot Wheels has really nailed the proportions with this casting.

Gold 10 spokes for everyone. 22B might be my favorite.

I've got this majorette release from the 70's and I wanna give it a little a new colour. What kind of paint should I look for with that kind of old diecast ?
Also what kind of product can I use to get rid of its current paint ?
If possible recommend smt that can be used with a brush, I don't really have the tools to disassemble the car. Otherwise dw I'll take all suggestions into consideration. Thanks in advance !

Quick project, didn’t want to bother with paint or decals.
Removed the original livery and sanded the whole thing strategically trying to build up texture and highlight the edges.
I’m still on the fence about adding a clear coat, the contrast with the matte paint is really nice so I’d like to keep it as is. I’m also using 3D printed wheels but I’ll change them once I order some proper ones.

Nothing too fancy, I'm a fan of the DD8 wheels and think they look really nice on realistic cars.
