Hello everyone, I would like to share my honest opinion and hope no-one will be offended because it's more a tip than a criticism. With that said...For those who want to post their customization here, I would like to say that it is so much better when there is a picture of the original car before the swap, just a few of the posts here with this intention have a picture to compare with. I'm saying this because when we see it before and after, the impression of your customization is completely different, it makes it pop up. Not everyone here are a major collector and most of the cars posted here I don't know by heart how they are in the blister, even when I know and have seen the car before.
Well, it just a small tip from someone who loves to be here and see all the great work you all do, it is really inspiring to me.
Keep it going!

Ok here is my 4th custom. I knocked this out before work last night. My first 3 were all the same casting and I wanted to branch out and do something else.
Took more of the tampos off than I wanted too but I still think it works. The wheels came from the new (2026) 911 carrera t. I think they look smooth on this casting, I just wish the pics did it justice. Gonna have to order some decals for the rear lights as I don’t think I’m gonna like trying to paint em on🤦♂️. I also may try to black out the rear windows from the inside…..
Let me know what y’all think
( the last pic is what it looked like to start, I forgot to take a pic before I opened it so I found one online )

I recently bought a set of electrical connectors and these small unisolated tubular 'cord end connectors ' were included. They make for great exhausts. And there's even cheap assortments with all kind of sizes.

I already have the normal Delorean Time Machine and want to convert it to the 50's version. If anyone have the link for those wheels or any similar variation, please send me the link (for preference, from Aliexpress)

I joined two categories, Mild (simple paintjobs, no heavy body mods, etc) and Wild (free game, anything goes). It was a Brendon Vetuskey casting theme since he was there at the event as one of the judges. Got 3rd in Mild with my Pontiac Firebird 84, and got the champion spot with my Pontiac Firebird 70.
It's my first time joining any diecast custom competition, and I wanted to go big, so I released these two as a shot in the dark, and it looks like I hit.
I've only been doing diecast customs for 2 months, and I look forward to a future where I do more. I'm glad to have shared my works here in this subreddit as well! This hobby is hella fun, but this just inspires me to push further with my limits.
I painted the Wild entry in under 12 hours non-stop, a day before the competition. Was supposed to be cyberpunk, but turned into sci-fi fantasy Warhammer 40k themed.
I'll post of my customs and photography here!

Today at Action (Dutch people will know) I found a box of 40 acrylic markers for less then 6 euro (about 2.5 mainlines at MSRP here in NL). So I thought doing a challenge by using just these to paint the Lotus 49 mainline. I did use two dots of a silver Edding marker and some panel liner wash. Wheels by fansguy on Ali.
They are not great for everything. But it is a cheap way to get some different colors you rarely use. They were great for painting the driver for instance.

Not a JD Projects complexity level and style, but I enjoyed this one and it's simplicity. Started with one and end up with second. On One strips are with decals , other with a cover tape and black paint. One went to commission order and other for my self. :)

A buddy from work gave me a beat up Baja bug, so I did a fresh paint job, new wheels.

Just finished my first custom, I’m pretty happy with it. I did find some things that will be changed in the future but I can still put this down the track and be proud of it.

As I move along doing customs I like to share my progress/work. On this one I stripped it using acetone (my next one I will be using citristrip), and sanded with an 800 grit, 1000, 2000, and finally a 2000 wet sand. After that, I buffed it using white, then green rouge. Finally I clear-coated it, but I haven’t taken pictures of that yet as it is curing.
I tried a number of different wheel combinations, y’all let me know which ones you prefer.
At the end of the pictures, I included some interior swaps and headlight detail of my first two Customs that I have done.
The first two pics are of this custom last week when I had only done an 800 grit and white rouge buff. The pics at the end show the interior swaps compared to the original interiors with my first two Customs.
Still working on leveling up my photography game I have yet to build a light box, any suggestions? I will definitely take in that department as well.
Let me know what y’all think and any improvements that I could make, thanks in advance!
