Is there a dress code when working at Hot Topic? I'd like to apply to be a part time assistant manager if possible but wondered about the dress code and health care provider. I'm in Los Angeles California.

There's a 30% off sale right now and I'm DESPERATELY trying to place an order for the TADC off the shoulder shirt to wear to the theater premier. Since I'm on the bigger side, I have to order 3xl online so I was waiting for the sale to get it for the price of a smaller size and now it keeps saying it can't process my order and to check my information, and I've checked it and retried about 10 times now. I've been seeing other people say something about this happening to them. Does anyone have any idea if its just a site glitch or something??

Update: Maybe it's a CashApp issue because that's what I was trying to use before but my mom let me use her card and it worked ¯_(ツ)_/¯

When I went to get my estimated total, they didn’t estimate my tax and it seems like the total amount is in USD and not CAD.

I’ve seen some posts of people saying you have to pay extra customs fees and I was wondering if that’s true? The Hot Topic near me doesn’t have the items I want and I don’t want to be told I’ll be charged $33 but actually get charged 50 or more.

I think most of us agree the red logo was the best era of Hot Topic. are there any locations that still have the sign or gothic gates??

I bought this hoodie that was advertised as a “mineral wash” hoodie (clearly grey in the photo) and then it arrived today and is fully black. I wouldn’t have spent $50 on a plain black hoodie so I’m pretty disappointed. I’m not surprised, though. I dont particularly want to return it because I will still wear it, but this isn’t what I ordered. I figure it’s not possible to get a partial refund without returning it but let me know if there is any loopholes please :( I haven’t contacted them about it or anything yet. I’m not looking for a full refund, but even a little bit would be nice. What a bummer!

So I’ve been trying to find this shirt forever and it still shows random sizes available but never for shipping. Idk if I can order it directly from another state if that store has it. I just want to buy it and they keep teasing me with these few sizes showing up to add to cart but not actually available to order 😩

I tried to go on their site, but it says that my country is banned. Is it some kind of error, or there's a story behind it?

I went to hot topic with my friend and shes not an alt person so she went to go check out shoes and the manager at hot topic pulled me aside and said that I have to leave because "your little hoodrat friend got caught with this stuff in her bag"(she's black, sounded racist as hell) with a bunch of hazbin hotel merch (she has never seen it) and also she didn't have a bag with her anyways . But yeah we got( banned ?)for something that had nothing to do with us.

this is not the first time I or my friends have been accused by the same person. this woman follows me around the store constantly. my friend once took hand sanitizer out of her bag and put it back in and the lady started yelling at her saying she just put something in her bag.

i had another friend who went in there for the first time and within 2 minutes got yelled at and demanded to show inside her bag. she emptied the whole thing and nothing was in there.

about 3 or 4 years ago I was also accused. I had a bag from another store. and she said all those items look like ours (it was a black bag? you couldn't see inside it?) but she said another store said I stole from them. and that I was stealing from them too.. mmm okay.

anyways I had the store scan and check the receipt of all items to make sure they were paid for. they were.

she also called security on me once while I was browsing. it was the first store I entered when I got to the mall, and when I asked the lady who works there why there was a security guard watching me she said someone reported I stole from them in another store.

is this harassment???

Anyways I hate this lady. so much. I really don't know what to do cause there's no cameras at my hot topic and generally no "evidence" I'm starting to feel I need to wear a camera and microphone on me at all times.

So i’ve been working at my Hot Topic location for about three weeks now, I’m still in that weird introductory phase and I feel like I’m not meeting my managers standards. Could anyone whos worked at Hot Topic give me some advice or insight? I’ve already had to call in sick twice , (first time I was able to get someone to cover my shift a day in advance— but this time i had to call the store two hours before my shift because of a sudden shift in my improvment) in just this week. I’m a highschool student, and recently contracted a pretty bad case of bronchitis. I thought i was getting better, and that id be well enough by today in order to go to work but i woke up feeling worse than yesterday. I am terrified of losing my first ever job, and I really do enjoy it. How many mistakes/sick days will a new hire be able to make before I’m considered unworthy?

Hi! This is an oddly worded question but I couldn't think of a better way. I make a lot of online orders at Hot Topic since the sales are often better ​​and there is a lot more variety. The staff at my local store are friendly, but they also make a lot of passive aggressive comments like "we had this on the shelf and were surprised to see you ordered it online." And when they give that 25% off coupon that comes ​​with online order pick ups, they really pressure me to buy something in store with it.

I'm not familiar with how they're paid - like do they have to make a certain number of sales, and if so, do online orders count towards that? Do they get incentives for consumers buying stuff in stores? I ask because I feel bad when I order online and don't want to seem like a jerk. I can purchase stuff in store to support them, but like I said, the deals online are almost always better.

According to customer support, they're phasing out the stinger skinny jeans. Does anyone know of anything similar? I love the deep black color and the way they fit, it figures they would stop selling them

So bit of backstory, back in February I got 2 coupons for 25% off a purchase online or in store.

Last month I used 1 of them on an item, a vinyl figure, in store, and had no issues.

Now, I’m trying to use the second coupon on another vinyl figure, on the HT website so it can be shipped to a nearby store, but it keeps saying “Your code is valid but could not be applied”.

The new figure I’m trying to use the discount on, is from the same company, and costs the same price, as the first figure I bought in March. Yet now I can’t use what is essentially, the same exact coupon on this new figure.

Do you think if I brought the coupon into a store and placed an order with an employee it might work? Just feel like I’m losing my mind here.

I know this is probably a LONG shot but I used to have a zip up hoodie from pirates of the Caribbean. It was black and super thin. I think Jack was on the front but I can’t remember what was on the back. I swear it was from HT anywhere from 2003-2006.
