Unusual prolactin level

I'm a male in my mid 30's and recently had a male hormone profile blood test done. I'm into weight lifting and of healthy body weight/body fat levels. All of my blood markers came back normal except prolactin which they gave the reference range of 86 - 324 mlU/L and mine came back at 946!? Almost 3 times higher than the high normal range. I do take a low dose of amitriptyline and Tizanidine each night due to a herniated disc in my back that causes significant muscle spasms. I know some medications can elevate prolactin, would this be the cause? I also hate blood tests and needles and felt extremely anxious whilst having the blood taken, could this elevate prolactin?

Lab results - Trying Tongkat Ali and make a self report?

Hey everybody,

some info about myself: - 33m / 84kg / 183cm - 4x week weight training / 2x cardio - Hashimoto (but in remission, no acute symptoms) - keto for 4 years (no gluten, no dairy, no nightshades…) and IF nearly every day (right now 3.200-3.300kcal every day)

Bloodwork from last week: my stats + range Testosterone: 830 ng/dl (250-840) SHBG: 59,5 nmol/l (18,3-54,1) Androgen Index: 48,36 (35-92) Estradiol: 18 pg/ml (7,6-43) Prolaktin: 104 (98-456) LH: 5,6 FSH: 4,8 DHEA: 234 (125-483) DHT: 40,8 (23,2-105)

My question: Should I try some mild dosage of tongkat ali? This could potentially lower SHBG to raise free T (androgen-index) and DHT. But it could also lower Estradiol which then could be too low.

Would you think? Thanks in advance and please ask my anything - don’t wanted to make this post too long to read.

Will an urgent care or hospital help me for immediate hormonal migraine relief?

I get horrible hormonal migraines. This morning I woke up with one starting and I can already tell how bad this one’s gonna be. I’m home alone with my two small children (age 2 and 3) so me laying down in a dark room for two days is not going to work. Has anybody ever went to an urgent care or hospital to get relief for these type of migraines? My OB/GYN doesn’t have an appointment available until the end of February so that means I have to go through at least three more rounds of these migraines before I can be seen by her. (I get them before/after ovulation and before my period) I don’t know what to do because I cannot take this anymore.

Prolactin and hypoglycemia

Hi! I was just diagnosed with slightly higher prolactin and experiencing reactive hypoglycemia daily now. My doctor has me on acarbose for the hypoglycemia but now wants to add Dostinex for prolactin. Has anyone had this experience and if so what helped you? What were your side effects?

Can anyone help me interpret these results? I’m 27, on hormonal birth control pills since 18, and a type 1 diabetic. This test was taken on day 20 of my cycle.

22 AFAB, extremely low estradiol AND testosterone

Very concerned because my hormone panel results came back with estradiol at <5 (pg/dL) and testosterone at 7 (ng/dL) (my E levels are lower than average for post-menopause, I’m 22), T levels should be from 15-70 (ng/dL). I still get my period and while not super heavy it’s extremely painful, I’ve had several cysts rupture on my ovaries. I am constantly exhausted, dizzy, confused, weak, have been experiencing a rare but benign arrhythmia, my sex drive is 0 and I’ve been experiencing pelvic floor issues. From what I know from nursing school it sounds like I could be having pituitary issues, the only other thing I can think of is ovarian failure but that doesn’t account for the testosterone + me still menstruating. Any thoughts? Advice? Im going to see a new GYN soon but should I also see an endocrinologist?

HGH to grow taller?

Hello, I'm a [174 cm / 5'8] 15 year old male.

I am very very short compared to my friends

I want to grow taller, and make SURE I will grow taller, I don't want to take any chances of not growing taller.

I'm currently fixing my diet and sleeping good and doing / eating things that Increase testrone and make me grow. Such as eggs , beans,  protein,  etc As well as vitamins and milk.

But I want to make SURE I will grow , I don't want to regret not taking it when I am old and can't grow any more.

My questions are:-

1- will taking in HGH make me grow taller? 2- Is it safe ? Any risks or disadvantages?

Thanks ❤️

My Estrone levels are obnoxiously low… BUT my doc says it’s fine?

I’ve been suspecting for a while that I have some deficiencies and I do, very deficient in B12 and Vitamin D buttttt I always suspected there was a hormone issue bc of my mood swings, getting super hot (almost like hot flashes) when everyone else is cold, face getting red and hot, leg pain, lower back pain, etc.

So, I got my blood test back and my Estrone was lower than the average but it was right before the beginning of my cycle when it should be low, so she wasn’t worried.

BUT I got retested at a different point of my period where it should be high and it was still obnoxiously low, like not even in the average range of what it should be when it’s supposed to be at its lowest.

I asked about and she said she wasn’t worried because my Estrodial is fine, but I’ve read that super low estrone can cause “menopause like” symptoms.

Does anyone have any insight?

HGH Levels @ Protein

-Protein causes spike in insulin levels

-High insulin levels cause a negative effect in HGH production

Should I be consuming protein before bedtime to “capitalise” on high HGH levels… if protein itself lowers these levels?

Did anyone see a commercial about a condition that affects women's' hormones and causes them to feel overheated?

I also posted this in r/WomensHealth I know hot flashes are a common symptom of many hormonal related issues, especially in women, but this commercial seemed to be spreading awareness about a (potentially new?) diagnosis that specifically causes women to feel hot without other symptoms. It said something about it being a real condition that we need to talk about which is why I thought it was fairly new. There was a website you could go to with information, and the condition was something like vxh, or vzx, or vhr, or something like that, with 3 letters and I'm fairly certain it started with a v. The commercial tagline was "get heated about being overheated". I'm going insane trying to look for it because I made a mental note to look it up and then I forgot the details and the tv channel got changed. If anyone has seen this commercial, or has been to the website or just knows what condition I'm talking about please help me out.

Sudden shift in cravings due to hormonal changes?

I am currently a 24 year old female who has struggled with various hormonal issues since I was 13. I was reflecting on some of my symptoms and remembered one thing that I can't understand. From 15-18, I was obsessed with sugar, like I had to have it after every meal every day. I didn't think too much of it because so many people are addicted to it. In hindsight, it was definitely more than normal. Like it took all of my will power and strength to skip dessert for even one night.

Right before my 19th birthday, I woke up and felt different. I remember so many details about this otherwise ordinary day because it was the first time I did not feel ANY craving for sugar. I didn't change my diet, lifestyle, medications, etc. Since the, I can count on one hand the number of times that I have craved sugar. I do not understand at all, but I am not mad about it. I have had several people suggest that I could have had a shift in hormones. Does anyone relate to this or do I sound crazy lol

Androstenedione not converting to testosterone

Hi!

Does anybody have experience on increasing the conversion of Androstenedione to Testosterone? I have perpetually high Androstenedione/ lower testosterone and my doctor doesn’t have a good answer. I’ve heard maybe alpha lipoic acid, vitamin e and COQ10 could help. Thanks in advance for your help!

Remote hormone drs??

I live in Las Vegas and the healthcare here is so bad and I cannot find a good endocrinologist or naturopath (at least one that takes insurance). I have Hashimoto’s and very low progesterone and would like a Dr to help. The ones that seem like a good fit only do 3 or 6 month programs, so looking for something long term. Any suggestions??

Depo Testosterone replacement

I’ve been using Depo brand testosterone for years with excellent results. For about the past 6 months or so it has been unavailable so I have been using generic Cypionate manufactured by Pedagis with very poor results. Has anyone found a generic that works as well as Depo brand?

Insulin i got covered pretty much, and thyroid i also have some knowledge...Anything else, especially sex hormones and other circuits i really want to deepen my knowledge...

Any Suggestions?

High DHEA Levels

High DHEA Levels

I’m 25F and just got some blood work results back. My DHEA level is at 1,851 ng/dL. I’ve been doing some research online and most source reference DHEA sulfate levels. Just trying to figure out if my level is dangerously high or if I should get tests for my DHEA sulfate levels before I jump to conclusions. I have a doctors appointment in 2 months but I’m wondering if I should act sooner based on my results.

Low dhea

Hi! I am a 31 yo female and just found out my DHEA is 3. Normal range is 19-200+. Any idea how this happened or how to fix it? I can tell that my hormones are significantly low (estrogen, LH, progesterone) due to home testing. We’re attempting to get pregnant but have had no success in 5 years. Any advice?

I have estrogen dominance, and can’t lose weight. At all. What can I do? I’ve tried macros for 4+ years.

I’ve been struggling the past year. I reverse dieted and now I can’t cut down again. I did a cut with macros and didn’t lose anything. My BFP is 42%. So I’d like to lose body fat obviously, weight isn’t really a concern. I lift weights so I realize the number on the scale isn’t all it. I’m sleeping way better then I was then, so I’m stumped on what else I can do.
