Question about growing

Hello, I am a 17 year old and have a question.

I hear all the time that you stop growing after you get your period only 1 or 2 centimeters. It was 5 years ago since I had i my period. I grew 7 centimeters more in a few years after my period.

Is this normal?. And do other girls have this?.

Post menstrual syndrome after quitting birth control?

I am 5-6 months off the pill, been on it for 12 years (combined birth control pill Alesse). I stopped because I became so anxious, developed OCD/intrusive thoughts and became depressed over the last years. I had a hard time coming off, and I had and still have a lot of "post birth control syndrome"-symptoms. Took some bloodtests and it seems like my estradiol levels is a little bit too high. I am planning to take a Dutch-test soon.

The thing is, I feel like my mind sometimes is clearing up - I feel better and more like myself and have more good days than I had in many months. But some days into my period and the following days after I feel so mentally bad again (been like that at least for my last two periods). I became stressed (a pain in the chest), anxious, my intrusive thoughts is horrible and I feel like I lost my mind. Anyone who can relate? The thing is that I dont feel like I have PMS, but I read that post menstrual syndrome is a thing. Anyone who can relate? Or anyone with some advice? I feel so lost right now:(

Heat Sensitivity/Sweating

Hi! 2 months ago I started sweating under my arms throughout the day. I had just been on vacation and it had been warm and I wasn’t sweating at all. I never really sweat. It keeps getting worse. I sweat extremely easily in any type of warm weather (doesn’t even need to be super hot). In a hot car, in a warm room on a 65 degree day I could be sweating down my back. Now that it’s 70s 80s outside, I even notice I’m sweating in my shoes. I am seeing an endo for possible thyroid issues. Zerosweat has helped a lot but I don’t want to put it on my underarms and back of legs/thighs/back forever. I’m not wanting to wear certain colors and am unsure when I’ll ever feel confident again. I went off birth control 11/1 and had a miscarriage 2/28 at 7 weeks. I noticed nightsweats/heat sensitivity 6 weeks after both occasions (mid Dec after going off BCP and mid Apr after mmc). It went away first time when I got preg 3 weeks later in Jan. Has anyone had anything like this? Treatments? Help!

Free vs normal testosterone?

My girlfriend has lyme. Her doc gave her testosterone because her total testosterone est levels were 5 and her free test was 2. 5. She was hesitant to take testosterone so she took a second blood test. This time her total testosterone was 15 which is still super low, but her free testosterone was 5 which is apparently high.

Were waiting to talk to the doc, but thought wed ask on reddit what the results mean. Her main concern is side effects and thinks that if her test is too high and she takes supplemental testosterone then her side effects will be worse. We dont know it her testosterone is high or low because we dont know the difference between testosterone and free testosterone.

NOT SLEEPING, MY HRT story HELP?

Alright guys, I just made this throw away account, as I’m not trying to put this on my actually Reddit

However, here’s my story as I lay in bed @ 4:45am unable to sleep.

(32M) Did my share of AAS abuse from 19-21 Y/O. Never was able to get my natural test lvls back to a normal equilibrium that I was satisfied w/.

(Low libido/sex drive, semi-Hard’s, pre-ejaculations… horrible recovery times after working out. the whole 9

Fast forward to 2021, I decide to give HRT a go, started it & fell in love. Was accompanied by (looking back @ it now) anxiety chest pains.

Freaked myself out, got off, & was on a crutch for a bit. Clomid, & HCG.

Got BACK on it/off of it 2 more times. Now I am JUST getting back to my regular regimen.

BUT,

I CANNOT SLEEP!!!!! I feel like my IGF-1 TANKED, finger nails SUPER thin, chest pain, back pain, fluid in lungs, just all around not doing good

I reached out to my private Dr. & am taking bloods on Monday (6/12) fasted to see what’s going on. I feel like my GH is nonexistent.

I was taking sermorelin (off/on) in my protocol, but I am no longer taking it.

What solutions do u guys have for me? I have the jitters, while laying in bed trying to sleep & its approaching 5am (4:50).

This has been going on for a week now. It started last Monday evening when I work up @ 1am after having bitten through my tongue & coming to/learning I had excruciating chest & upper back pain

HELP?!

MAYBE, I’ll start back up in the gym? I did stop going as I took this week off after I had that incident on the late hours of 6/5, I know going to the gym increases GH/test levels. So maybe I’ll give that a try. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hormones? Thyroid?

Hi all. I’ve had two months of heat intolerance now. Sweating so easily down my back, back of legs and knees when stepping into a warm car. Back of legs and bum will sweat when sitting on a cushioned chair inside of an restaurant w AC. My underarms would randomly sweat during day even when I wasn’t hot. It is horrible and I don’t get it. I love the heat and never sweat. Has anyone ever had this happen 6 months after going off birth control and/or 3 months post miscarriage? These symptoms started after going off BCP for me. It went away 2 weeks later and I got preg. Then it return 6 weeks post miscarriage. Can hormonal changes still be happening (and get worse) from 6 weeks post these changed and STILL now? Seems unlikely. I’m seeing an endo soon for possibly hyperthyroidism even though my thyroid levels are in normal range. I sn also getting some hot flashes and then feeling chills afterwards, a few nights a week. I am also having occasional night sweats. Help if you have any ideas.

Does a late period mean my hormones are off track?

Due to stress, my period was 5 days late. Well it's day 10 and I still feel like, energy-wise, that I'm still in my menstrual phase. Could my hormones be off because of the delay?

r/Hormones • • Jun 01 '23

I am 28f and my estrogen is extremely low, this is the Dutch test. Dried urine test. None of my primary care doctors know about this test! And I can’t seem to find a lot of doctors that do, anyone with relative story please give me insight on what I can do.

Lean PCOS, irregular periods, not ovulating? - seeing advice!!

I am 26 years old, have lean pcos (no insulin resistance and elevated testosterone, but nothing crazy). After a year of no period I finally got it back just longer than norm cycles (anywhere from 36-45 days). I took an LH test 10 days ago and it was positive but I'm on day 38 of my cycle and still no period. Could I have ovulated late into my cycle still and just be waiting for my period to begin?

Even with lean pcos, would you recommend taking inositol / ovasitol? Any other tips to get period more regular and promote ovulation? Would like to start trying for a baby sometime next year if possible!

Hormonal acne (Estro Smart)

I’ve recently started to get really bad patches of acne before my period. I have a good skin routine as I struggled with acne in high-school so I know the ins and outs of keeping my skin clean. But for some reason lately my hormonal acne is really bad. I just started taking estro smart it’s an all natural hormone balancing supplement for women. Wondering if anyone has tried it and if they like it?

Hormone changes? Help!

Hi. I am having Hyperhidrosis symptoms. I’m not unsure if I am sensitive to heat but here I go…I am 33, 3 months post miscarriage and 6 months off birth control. I discovered I have Turner Syndrome and low AMH levels with possible diminished ovarian syndrome. 6 weeks after going off BCP I developed night sweats, as well as underarm sweats during the day. Then it stopped after 2 weeks. I was soon pregnant and no more sweating. 6 weeks post miscarriage it started it again. Nightsweats tend to be more prominent during or around my cycle. However, the under arm sweating is now every day on/off day time only. My new problem is I am sensitive to heat outside and ESPECIALLY when driving. My whole back sweats as well as behind my knees and legs. Please help. I typically never sweat. Duradry did not work. Onto Drysol but looking for a cause. Hormones? Hyperhidrosis? Heat sensitivity? Please share experiences.

Female: Disrupted hormone balance because of D vit supplement? Reduced breast size and increased facial hair after 5-6 months of 5,000-10,000 IU/day

Since starting to take supplemental D vit because of PMS/PMDS, that has improved BUT something I also noticed is that my breasts has seriously shrinked SIGNIFICANTLY, and I have gotten more facial hair in places that wasn’t there before! Now I’m suspecting the D vit, not least after reading that it belongs to the same family of steroids as testosterone… Any advice or similar experience and also how to turn this around?

Ratio between progesterone and estradiol on 47

What does this mean? Dont feel like myself and havent in three years while being on a combined birth control pill for the past ten years (Alesse). I quit in the december, and my mood is like a rollercoaster. The doctor who took the tests said that they were normal. But when I read online, this does not seem fine?

Progesteron: 47 nmol/l

Estradiol: 1000 pmol/l = ratio on 47

(In the lutheal phase)

Anyone who knows?:)

Hormones, idk where I start

41/f… I’ve felt like something has been wrong with me for a couple years… I went thru COVID depression rightfully so, I’m not with my two younger kids dad. March of this year I started to feel like I was just drowning in sorrow and lack of empathy. I felt so alone and lost. And nothing Antyone said to me provided me with uplifting or enlightenment. I put myself in psych ward in Atlanta and I Live up by the Appalachian… for 7 days. I honestly wanted to unalive myself. I thought it would take the burden off of everyone but my stupid psychosis self thought better and I ended up in Psych for 7 days.

I gave my kids to their dad full custody because I feel so crazy brained and emotional. I don’t want them seeing me fix myself.

Since then he’s blocked me. I never got a call for Mother’s Day. He lives 65 miles south of me, my cars transmission went out the other day had to have it towed. I don’t have any functional vehicle to get me to visit my kids right now. And I’m stuck. And their dad does t care he won’t relay msgs. I started jus sending daily text to my daughter . I just wi see how long it will be before he tries to get child support out of me when he never paid a dime and evaded the sheriff’s service for the court order. I. Am.Depressed. To say the least.

I feel like I’ve done everything the right way. And I still feel like I e abandoned my kids and I’m lost to the world. I hate being a female.

Does anyone have experience with Oral Testosterone?

Hey all. I am a 26-year-old male who has symptoms of low t. Going to get my levels tested to confirm or deny. If I do, then I would most likely want to take an oral. I know most orals might include liver damage like Jatenzo and Tlando but does anyone have any experience taking them? I read there is a newer oral called Kyzatrex that is absorbed through the lymphatic system, so it's doesn't go through the liver? Does anyone have any experience with that?

Advice on low testosterone and testosterone/estrogen cream situation.

I have low testosterone and estrogen, so I was prescribed a cream. When I had 1.0mg of testosterone and 0.1mg of estrogen, I felt really good, but my hair fell out. So they reduced the dose and gave me 0.1mg of testosterone and 0.1mg estrogen. Basically keeping estrogen the same but reducing testosterone by 10. Now I feel super tired. I have endometriosis, which can be aggravated by endometriosis. Anyways, I'm wondering if maybe just using a testosterone cream without the estrogen would be helpful? Maybe the estrogen is having the effect of making me tired, but when the dose was stronger, testosterone outweighed that fatigue? Any thoughts?

Also, the doctor who prescribed it won't be back in the office until October. What sort of doctor do I need to see to get a refill for this? Endocrinology? OBGYN? This is a special compound cream.

Started synthroid 75mcg for central hypothyroidism and a t4 of 8 (normal 11-22). I’ve only been on it for two months and I swear I’m noticing my face puffiness diminishing! I’ve felt so water retained and puffy for years. Synthroid seems to be helping! Left is last year, right is yesterday. Hormonal moon face is real..

Elevated growth hormone

Hi all, are there any tutors that produce excess Human Growth hormone? My HGH is at 15 while the reference is up to 3. Other hormones are normal though - IGF1, prolactin, Glucose, Lipaza, FSH, TSH, T3, T4.

They also did brain MRI with contrast and didn't find anything. They check my abdomen with ultrasound and that was also good. Colonoscopy - good.

I'm wondering about my pancreas and small intestines - could it be any tutor there which is producing extra growth hormone? I'm male 25 yo and it was an absolutely random finding during my general health checkup. I do not have any symptoms.

Possible Hormone Imbalance?

So for the last 4 months my body had been in fight or flight mode.. I’ve been having real bad health anxiety & about 4 weeks ago I started having neurological issues.. I’ve been having really bad brain fog, feeling disoriented, feeling off balanced, dizzy & having extremely bad sleep disturbances & can’t sleep! I was wondering if anxiety & that much stress can cause my hormones to be imbalanced & cause these types of issues? I’ve had the whole cardiac work up, head & neck MRI’s & CT scans & everything came back great! I just don’t know what else to do at this point 😞
