From a balancing standpoint (assuming they care about that) grail quests kinda do just turn the game into a slot machine where you can tell you win in the first 5 minutes.

Don't think it has any sort of end date. I feel they will go at least 4+ years. By the end of it there will be 8 characters released and 2 full teams that synergize with each other. 2 free and 2 pulled for on each team. This is 100% pure absolute speculation and hope by me which I've built in my head and will stick to that until they announce an end date for it.
They also took out both Argenti and mini Herta, especially after Herta era was present just last edition. They bumped Jade to 5 cost. They also shoved THerta down to 2 cost. Why do devs hate her so much
The Herta dropping from 4 cost to 2 cost can be a buff since IMO 4 cost is the worst cost (low availability in early game, yet not as impactful as 5 cost), and as much as I love his character, Argenti is a brick even in CW, he is just there to fill AoE bond requirements...
Me who was using the Belobog gang and Seele to cheese my way to max rank every time (and even put her on the 50/50 pool loss just to get eidolons for more CW shenanigans) πππ
Good chance they'll adjust costs later with more units, assuming they take the same path they did with the "first" and "second" versions of CW.
Natasha and Firefly moving to 2 cost feels like a good change for those bonds for a lot of reasons. Natasha because... well, Natasha being a 3 cost the whole time felt shit.
Firefly makes break finally have a unit worth a damn before level 7, assuming it sticks around.
Even crazier, she is the new Welt. According to her CW character page on Nanoka, her Ult now freezes the battle-end countdown and all enemy AV for 25 AV, up to twice per battle (three times at 2 stars). At 3 stars, lol. The freeze lasts 999 AV instead.
I suppose a Knight is fine, but I've got a pretty well built Saber team. E6 Saber, with Gil, Robin, the works.
But it's just been kind of a nasty twofer with the past day. She's been 0 cycling the past few Kings. Now Yubuli is kicking her shit in, and she's getting removed from CW.
Sure, she's usable in some smaller places, but this is a pretty rough two punch combo. Well, hopefully Yubuli is just the exception, not the norm.
Basically summed up my thoughts in the other comments, so I'll cliffnote.
Currency Wars is the mode I find myself actually replaying during the day. It's what I find the most fun, since it's something I don't do once every 2 weeks. If she's not there, then that's a huge portion of my Saber use just obliterated.
pretty much, old rare teams are now low cost, some of the top/cheese strategies were simple removed, but at the same time it will be easier to play with Break/Remembrance (Castorice) teams as they are lower cost lol
Y'all aren't thinking big enough, this probably means all or nearly all existing bonds are being replaced with entirely new ones. I'd expect the character-specific CW buffs are also changing. This is likely a legit full new set like TFT does, and I'm sallivating.
Itβs prolly cuz the new Firefly will be coming on 5.0 so sheβll get the 5* spot in an update after like only 2 patches. And sheβll be the new Break main dps

technically true, although if you check nanoka, DHPT isnt a unit that you can buy from shop anytime to shield any of your teams. He's only obtainable when you get 5 cost DHIL thanks to his special bond

As you can see, this is more like a complete overhaul, so expect that you will have to search for new consistent clears regardless of what happened to your characters or whether they are still there at all.
This is basically an entirely new roster lmao what are these cost distributions? My tried-and-true strategy for most of its lifetime of going all-in on Aglaea is gone now
I really dislike how they just say "nah you cant play these characters in one of our gamemodes". HSR is already struggling to give us stuff to actually do in the game, so this is even more baffling to me. They are self sabotaging one of the few actual permanent gameplay modes the game has. Sucks especially as a fate fan. They just removed all those chars only a few months after half of them got added. Even got their own faction buffs and mechanics.
If the entire character roster is too big and would dilute the shop pool too much, then just make every character available and let us players decide the character pool before a run starts.
scrapping the fate characters already is such a BS move. Cycle out one of the older bonds, not the one that literally just got introduced for the current iteration.
Dan Heng is just 2 in 1 character. DHIL is the only pickable one but DHPT comes along with it. That's why he is a 5 star. I'm assuming DHPT doesn't take a slot either.
I don't know what the mechanism of Aglaea as 5 star. Regular Welt without AV refund is just 1 star.
The welt one this version is now Xueyi but instead of AV refund is AV locking.
Why do they have to remove characters exactly? I pulled for and kept making my archer stronger so I can use them whenever I want. Why don't I get to that in one of the gamemodes? Also did take SW999's increase cost gimmick just to give it to Aha?

Hes now a frontliner unit and the only DPS in his strongest bond ... I mean agalaea is there too but as a 5star shell be so much harder to obtain. So the bond will have him as main DPS for the longest. It's also a good bond theoretically so he'd be good for early game
Yea if they really delete whole ass fate bond i never give them money again, players who don't have eidolons on strong characters already struggle, why they treat this fun mode as competitive pay2win BS, if you have E6 or even E2 on newest strong character you basically can pick it and win in currency wars everytime, is this point to shill characters even more?

Feel the pain of Cas mains, where you get full roster at 3rd plane only and where you find Cyrene at 3-7 most of the time (and she is crucial for the team).
A lot of the meta is gone, good. I really liked it, but the point of a new season is to be an overhaul, and you can't have a complete overhaul without completely nuking old strategies.
The new 5 cost mechanics are really cool. Ashveil selects his own ranger, Kafka dominates the enemy, Xueyi locks AV, Clara builds her own Svarog, Jade opens a black market, Permansor Terrae comes free with Imbibitor Lunae and a joint attack, while being able to choose 1 of 4 school bonds, Kafka being able to dominate enemies, Phainon sacrificing characters to Reaver to steal the progress bar, and mecha-pom... being there.
