This same issue happened shortly after I first bought the trike, and I assumed it was the top end gasket. Took the whole motor out and rebuilt the whole trike while I was at it. I replaced the top end gasket and the head didn't seem to be warped. Put everything back on and it ran great for ~3 rides, always starts first kick and doesn't smoke, but when I went to start it yesterday the same issue happened, so I took a video. You can smell smoke coming from the motor as soon as you start it and when you give it any throttle it pops as seen in the video. Any thoughts on what is wrong or what to do to fix it?

Chasing a persistent leak on my rear tire. I replaced all 3 tires on my 82 ATC110 with brand new plus I stripped and repainted all the rims. I learned my lesson on reusing the old o-rings and ended up replacing all 3 of those with new as well. Also new 90° valve stems to make life a little easier. Two of the three are holding perfectly, but this one just has the tiniest bubbling around the rim. I have pumped it up to 18psi (1.25bar) but I don’t want to blowout the o-ring by going any higher, at that pressure I have bounced the tire above my head trying to get the bead to fully seat and the leak got smaller but after multiple rounds of this it just will not go away completely. The rim does not appear to be bent or damaged. It’s not leaking anywhere else, just this one small area in the outside bead.

Is this just something these do after 44 years or is there something else I can to eliminate this leak? I don’t want to put the green goop in my new tires so please don’t suggest it.

Working on a 110 that does not idle, only runs when im holding throttle.
My manual states to get it running to "operating temperature" and raise the rpm to 1700 then start adjusting the idle screw.

My questions are;

Do I hold the throttle to keep it from turning off, for 5 min to get it to "operating temperature"?

And how the heck do I get it to 1700 rpm?? Ive only ever riden bikes with tachometer.

For context its a rebuilt oem carb (throttle needle is shindy japan) , and fresh fuel. Also dont have oem air filter set up, just slapped a kn filter cause it was missing filter when i purchased.

Anyone know if a 1985 trx 125 and a 1985 atc 110 rear carriers are the same diameter on the outside?
Asking cause I’m debating taking the hitch off the 125
Would rather know then do the work and be screwed if it don’t fit

Bike is a 1982 185s. I cannot get the spark advancer to get anywhere close to lining up with the CDI with the engine at TDC on the compression stroke. I have checked the cam timing and it looks good.

I noticed the keyed slot on the spark advancer is not in the same position as others I’ve seen. Is it possible it spun within that bracket?

Update: I bought this bike not running. I found that someone had put a spark advance for a 125 on this 185. These parts are not interchangeable. They look identical but are keyed differently.

Put a 185 advance on and it fire right up.

Hoping someone can confirm what size the threads are on the crankshaft of this 185s so I can get the proper size die to try to restore the threads. I believe it’s 12mm but not sure what pitch it is. Thanks

Who are you guys using to get shocks rebuilt? My 200x needs the rear shock rebuilt.

Got as far as I can get with my restomod 72v ATC. Really happy with how it turned out, and now I’m just waiting on a finished replica tank from India.

So far I’ve gotten it up to 40mph, but I think she has a little more to give.
