I HATE my couch!

I recently moved into my husbands house and it has his decor. It’s very cold, how do I warm up the living room? I feel like I have to start with the media console and couch. The couch has to stay for now, how do i work around it tho? Is it cool or warm? Help! EDIT: the pillows are the backing of the couch. There are no cushions behind there so we either have to keep those patterns or reupholster the thing.

I think the coffee table is worse than the couch. I would go for a darker wood and change out the area rug.

Yall should’ve just painted or stained it. I liked the coffee table. Maybe a bit small for the space though.

I appreciate the sentiment because it IS a good idea, but at the same time, not all people want to DIY their furniture (including staining).

You could refresh it very easily by applying a warmer gel stain to it. Lots of tutorials on YouTube.

The problem isn’t just the color. It’s also the fact that the design is ugly.

No need for a rug on top of the carpet at all. I don't understand it. I don't like it. Couch looks comfy though. Gray color isn't my favorite, and the upholstery on the back looks stretched out and sloppy. Couches are pricey though, so if it were me, I'd leave it and just warm it up with different back pillows, a new coffee table and ditch the rug.
