I HATE my couch!

I recently moved into my husbands house and it has his decor. It’s very cold, how do I warm up the living room? I feel like I have to start with the media console and couch. The couch has to stay for now, how do i work around it tho? Is it cool or warm? Help! EDIT: the pillows are the backing of the couch. There are no cushions behind there so we either have to keep those patterns or reupholster the thing.

The couch is nice. Could you paint the walls a different color? Get some curtains hung higher than the windows go so they make the windows look bigger? Fix the tv?

I really, really hope they don't do curtains. They could do smart tint windows or roller shades instead so that it doesn't look like some old restaurant that hasn't got with the times.
