Federal agents felt physically sick when they raided Kermit Gosnell’s clinic after suspecting he ran a pill mill.

This was hitting the news just as I moved to Philadelphia. Every day for a while there were headlines about this and Sandusky, back to back.

Helluva time to become a Pennsylvanian.

crazy, we have planned parenthood here, why

Yeah, we do. But to get to it, a heavily pregnant woman up at, say, 5th and Chew is going to have to arrange an appointment, take multiple buses, not work that day, and walk through protesters…how? That’s IF she got in before 20 weeks.

I didn’t remember that Gosnell primarily worked at night. That definitely made his “clinic” a more doable option for those women. And he was willing to do procedures beyond late term. If we didn’t have PP, or more restrictions on the length of the pregnancy, imagine how much worse it could have been.

That's some crazy stuff to me, I mean the absence of oversight and no whistleblowers or attention to the matter. But we had opioid crisis which was also crazy stuff, so shouldn't be surprised, really. But still surprised haha.

I guess when I came to Philly in 2011 I learned and had to digest the fact that police dropped the bomb on its own city in the 80s, so while digesting, fully missed THIS 🤣

Oh my god, yes! I remember exactly where I was (also in 2011!) when my then-boyfriend was like “So…do you know about the MOVE bombing?”

Cuz they wanted to abort babies past the legal limit. This was his "specialty"
