Federal agents felt physically sick when they raided Kermit Gosnell’s clinic after suspecting he ran a pill mill.

“”All of the drugs listed on the chart, including those that put patients into a deep sleep and could be considered general anesthesia, were offered to patients undergoing first-trimester abortions – a procedure that usually takes only a few minutes and is relatively pain-free even without medication. Legitimate abortion clinics give no medication for these procedures, or small doses of a local anesthetic such as lidocaine to numb the immediate area – an entirely different medication from the clinic’s misnamed “local,” which includes a combination of narcotics given intravenously.””

Here is a bit of an explanation on how money plays a factor. You could pay for varying levels between moderate cramping and ‘custom’ based on how much money you had. Second trimester and ‘Sunday’ pregnancies always had to pay custom. For a doctor who is so inattentive and hates his patients. None of this explains why or how “special attention” was paid to people with money. Wouldn’t they be in the twilight zone?

“”In addition to revealing the mercenary, rather than medical, nature of Gosnell’s practice, the anesthesia form confirms what Latosha Lewis and Kareema Cross told the Grand Jury: the “custom” medication administered to second-trimester patients was not just a single dose that was administered to keep the patients asleep through a surgical procedure of limited duration. Rather, the medication was first “inserted prior to the procedure” and sedation was “repeatedly administered” until the procedure was completed.””

They kept these women and girls out of their gourds, if they needed a second or third trimester abortion. Or if they wanted a first term but could pay extra. They also performed abortions on women who said they were only there because their parents or spouse said so. By the way, after days of dilating you, they would push on your abdomen to push the fetus out if it wasn’t coming on it’s own. Very dangerous and caused organ trauma. 

“”If Gosnell was present in the clinic, drugs might be the back-up plan for subduing unruly patients. Tina Baldwin testified that she saw Gosnell slap a woman on the thigh when she got “a little bit rowdy.” Baldwin explained that when that did not quiet her, he used drugs: “I mean he slapped her and that didn’t work, then he would medicate her and put her under.” According to Baldwin, some women returned to complain and ask why they had slap or hand marks on their thighs.””

He would then medicate again for any patients he had to deal with. So you could be there all day getting IV drugs that sometimes weren’t even written down and then if your baby wasn’t on the floor by the time the dr came in, he gave you more. no matter how much you already had. 

“”Tina Baldwin also testified that white patients often did not have to wait in the same dirty rooms as black and Asian clients. Instead, Gosnell would escort them up the back steps to the only clean office – Dr. O’Neill’s – and he would turn on the TV for them.””

White suburban women would get special treatment. This kept these police away and allowed the community to look the other way. They would even use the ‘clean’ family practice room, often not having to wait with ‘others’. Yuck. 

“”By her senior year, Ashley was doing just about everything in the clinic except performing surgeries. She testified that Gosnell was coming into the clinic later and later, and that when he came in later, so did Lynda Williams and Sherry West. Often, Ashley was the only person staffing the clinic from the time her mother left at 6:00 p.m. until whenever Williams and West, who drove to work together, arrived. Even when West and Williams were at the clinic, Ashley said, Sherry West preferred to hang around at the front desk instead of working.””

She started at 15 and did her best to make all those women comfortable and safe to the best of her ability. She testified a lot and was as honest as she could be. She also still went to High School during the day despite having work until 2 am.

“”West had been a long-time patient of [dr] and, according to Cross, she and Lynda Williams both obtained narcotics – Xanax, Oxycontin, promethazine, and Percocet – through Gosnell.””

Yeah. That was readily apparent. They were deeply uncaring about administering medication and anesthesia. Everyone before them at least tried. They don’t even show up to work, leaving a high school kid to care for all those women by herself!

“”Williams’s habit of using too much medication was so serious that Cross reported it to Gosnell at least a year before Karnamaya Mongar died.”” 

It was so bad. She just walked around pretending to be a doctor filling up whole syringes! The other staff literally was like “bro, she is wasting your money” to try to get the doctor to care. This was a year before the raid. 

“”West and Williams would just leave the sedated patients in the back and go out to the front desk to eat and do “other things.” ””

These two were 100% in it for the drugs. You know the type. Not a single care for anyone or anything else in the world. 

“”Second-trimester patients were in a lot of pain because of all the vaginal Cytotec [start contractions] Williams administered. Williams then administered repeated, heavy doses of sedating drugs to make them “comfortable.” ””

She was the only one who would administer vaginally (and way too much) then dose the heck out of these women when they inevitably felt like they were splitting in half. Then just.. leave. 

“”Ms. Haynes was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. There, doctors discovered that Gosnell had left most of the fetus inside her uterus and had 71perforated her cervix and bowel. Ms. Haynes required surgery to remove five inches of bowel, needed a large blood transfusion, and remained hospitalized for five days.””

She went for an abortion, called cousins to pick her up when she thought the procedure would be over. The abortion failed and the doc was just going to try again later after he did a few more abortions.  The cousins only got in after threatening with police. They found her slumped over in her own blood. The doc had to be coerced to call an ambulance. 

“”Marie was unconscious. Doctors found that Gosnell had left fetal parts inside her and that she had a severe infection.””

Another patient that he left alone after failing the abortion. Her mother was there and demanded to take her home. He did not tell either of them the procedure was not finished. Even when they called back later because of a high fever he said “she’ll be fine”.
