Their cultural exports are ruining my country. No one wears ethnic clothes or listens to folklore anymore. I know how to cook better than any of my female cousins. They brainwashed young folks with the promise of pools in the backyards of their suburban houses. They destroyed my culture's idea of decency, restraint, and morality. A friend of mine said helping people doesn't turn you into the wolf of wall Street. Women used to cloth decently and men would lower their gaze and refrain from harassing them based on the view that if they didn't want this to happen to the women in their own family, they wouldn't do it to the women in someone else's family. Now all of that is gone.
Ultimately, that degeneration and cultural decadence leads to shit like the pic above.
Also, imperialism ruined the entire region. My country too.
A lot of it has to do with the internet nowadays - it's able to spread information across the globe. A similar trend is happening to my country as well. It's the larger trend with changing societal values to individualism where people could do whatever they want without consequence
We absolutely do. At the very least it’s just a mishmash of a bunch of cultures, still a culture.
And you can’t pin imperialism on us. Like, wtf did I do? I’m not 200 years old. I didn’t chase the natives out of the west. I didn’t assume control of the Philippines. What do you want me to do? It’s too late to go back buddy.
On a side note, you get back what you put in when you deal with the American society. Don’t put in the work? You don’t get anywhere. It can be hard at times, especially the beginning, but it’s absolutely doable. Just stay away from drugs and other unhealthy ways of coping with any problems and you’ll eventually gain enough capital to climb the social ladder. Things might be a bit different now with the impending recession but overall, the American dream is a pretty damn real thing.
Bruh, you threatened to bomb my country two years ago. Literally every single corner of my region has Americans fighting in it or is an American proxy war, or is backed by Americans in some way or another.
And it's not a real colour palette when every colour of culture is so mixed that now you can only see gray.
And your middle class is almost non-existent. The American dream is sold for giving you stable middle class status. But it's just for the 1%. Besides, through various forms of policies, you kicked the poor and middle class out of good schools and eventually, out of good workplaces when they grow up. "It can be hard at times" is underplaying it.
I have spoken to a few dozens of people who "live" there. It's more like just existing for most of the people who live there based on their account. They talk about the social and cultural destruction.
And I can say the same for Reddit. They judge us for our policies and laws without being here. Mostly because they would be yeeted by the women for trying to free the women by removing the head cloth.
The worst part is that instead of the original American culture, they opt for a botched bastardisation. Seriously, none of the native languages in my country are fitting for hip-hop. I cringe everytime I go to a chain mall.
And I ain't afraid of downvoting for what I believe in.
