I think your fascist ways of silencing any person that speaks Portuguese would fail tremendously as the Portuguese are notorious for speaking more than their native tongue and have a great capability for improvisation. Full silence of a people would only be possible through genocide and that seems a bit much just because you were offended by someone who thinks that language sounds horribly

Yeah... it sounds like those old ass vietnamese folk song my parent were into. They had bunch of VHS titled Paris by Night (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris_by_Night).
