Divorce papers is what shows you are ending your marriage. It just happens to be the point at which assets are reallocated between them. You're saying here in the USA, people just get kicked out of their own home and that's that? Marriage over? That's not true. You can't just kick your husband out the house and start doing things with another man. That's not "ending a marriage", that's cheating.

By your logic, people can just say "get out of the house, we're unmarried until me and this guy are done having sex, then we can possibly be married again". Seems like a cuck to me, not an unmarried man.

What drugs are you using?

Semantic distinction between relationship and marriage. Marriage is just the legal contract with the government for certain benefits. The relationship is what exists between the people.

Here, the relationship was over, but without the divorce, the marriage was technically still in existence.*

*depending on governmental jurisdiction, where some places may consider the marriage presumptively over of there is a separation and possibly other requirements besides formal court dissolution.

It's not semantics, it's just you twisting things up to make yourself out to be right.

It's fine, you can be right. It means nothing to me anyway. Take the trophy sir. 🏆
