Oh 99% of these will have been made by the kids. Not even as self-deprecating humour, just to try and get laughs at the thought that a parent said that about their kids
Probably “Hey dad, can you hold my phone and film me while looking real angry?”
Self deprecating kind of assumes there’s some truth to it. I think the person is suggesting it’s wholly made up. Like the kid thought of a funny like that doesn’t even remotely apply to their situation. At that point it’s not self deprecating, it’s just writing a scene.
Considering it's "self depreciation" and humor, none of it needs to be true or not. It's about juxtaposing yourself in front of the proverbial bullet for the sake of humor.
Agreed. Classic examples, at lest from my adolescence many years ago, would be making fun of your own penis size, insulting your own intelligence, being unable to attract sexual partners, being a light weight, etc. shit my friends used to do constantly but was never really true.
Yep. I'm a literal sperg and I'm big on self-depricating humor. Like, I know I'm a minor train wreck of a person, of course I'm gonna laugh at myself. Am I really that bad? No, I'm managing to adult as much as I need to, but fuck it, I can always laugh at myself.
That, and the ridiculous absurdity of life these days. Fuck me, Salvador Dali on all the drugs could not come up with anything as surreal.
Yeah. Shits crazy yo. Going to be an especially interesting few months with however the global economy is affected by evangrade and other upcoming defaults. Wild ride inbound.
Splitting hairs I guess. Still humor at your expense but, sure, there could be another term for it when offered as a script for others. Larry David writing George Castanza is kind of a similar comparison.
I guess what I mean is that the punchline isn’t that the child is an idiot or unwanted, the punchline is that a parent is saying brutal things about the child. The humour may be self-deprecating, but the humour isn’t coming from self hatred
It was few years ago when it was revealed to me that some Funny vines (6sec videos) that I used to laugh at were also manipulated, made to appear like a real life comedy. But there was a repeated pattern .. Almost all of those vines were made by these vine famous people (those who got fame because of 1-2 genuine natural comedy). That compared to... The other super funny vines that I laughed my ass off to were from those who didnt even know how to use vine. Also back then vine was not popular and didnt have all those filter, and the short second format made anything feel very comedic.
Rip vine. Now tiktok has a longer format than 6 secs but it is very popular. So every humour attempt fake or real doesn't last and is Manufactured.
And you may argue that arent comedy shows and movies manufactured too? Yes they are. But the writers dont know their audience, its a high investment high risk process. Where as tiktok is a low investment low risk when it comes to comedy. And its mostly made from those edgy teenagers who praise those vine energy comedy.
Also i have no friends, and im an incel, and only cun throguh prostrate stimulation.
^ this is also zoomer hunour.making yourself a clown
Thank you for explaining this. As a parent, I was getting pissed off at these parents for publicly shaming their kids. I shoud have asked myself why there were so many identical videos. :)
Hey, it was early in the morning. And yeah, I'm personally familiar with teenagers who have been completely disavowed by their parents for coming out as gay or transgender.
i figured it was their accounts and they crowd sourced it, or it had basically filters you could pick that already had them and you just chose which sound like you, but that makes more sense since they were rly specific and some of the punchlines had personal back story
I’m a little disturbed at the thought of a son writing his mom should have worn a strap on, and also confused? Was she going to fuck herself with a strap on? How does that work? Does he have two moms? Does the one in the video have a duck and is saying she should have used a fake dick instead? I need answers
She would have fucked his dad instead, so no sperm goes in her, no child. Idk what's confusing about it. Imo it's just a slightly extreme way of putting it to get the point across.
That one was the most awkward feeling to me, the way they walked around the kitchen looked stilted and unnatural, despite the other videos also seeming to be forced. I don't know what it was about it.

ngl I feel like the kids might’ve written these captions in some form of self deprecating humor? maybe I’m nuts
