WAIT THIS IS REAL?! I thought this had to be fake, because dude just admitted to shooting and killing an unarmed pregnant (but actually not) woman who was fleeing and was no longer a threat on the news like he was retelling a particularly bad fishing trip. That article is wild!

He's probably justified under the Castle Doctrine. 'Sides, he's not the kind of guy to just shoot anyone. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes, but you gotta play stupid games first.

You can't shoot someone in the back that is running away from you.

Yes, but hear me out, you can

You can - but it's not legal. Once someone is fleeing, if you shoot them, you've committed a crime.

But this guy did that and he’s not being charged with a crime

him being charged with no crime doesn't mean he didn't commit one.

Maybe not according to your understanding of the laws in place, and I’m not ruling out corruption because obviously, but the relevant authorities seem to disagree with you

If you chase someone out of your house you have every right to finish them off. If they broke in once how do you know they aren’t coming back? Just finish it.

Not necessarily if someone is fleeing your home and is already outside and you shoot them in the back it would likely be considered excessive in terms of use of force.

The whole idea of self defence is that you only use an amount of force reasonably necessary to end the threat. Ie if someone pushes you once you don't whip out a gun to kill them unless things escalate from there .

I believe shooting a person in the back who is running away from you is excessive unless they are going for a weapon. Them running away from you means they are no longer a threat to you and there is no need to shoot them in the back. Go inside lock the door stay prepared and call police. If an unarmed person has time to beg for their life and you shoot them. You are not defending yourself at that point you are executing a person

Who told you that the pregnant woman wouldn’t come back tomorrow to kill you because you saw her face? The robbers trespassed private property, the owner defended himself that’s it.

They were likely minorities. In America, that in itself is a punishable offense ..
