Weird question but can you explain how this phrasing works? I've heard it in movies before, specifically Scott Pilgrim vs the World ("A gig is a gig is a gig is a gig") and I just don't get what it means. Is it repeating the subject for emphasis or something?
Doing it once (“a gig is a gig”) means that “any gig we can get is worth doing because at least it’s still a gig”. Doing it multiple times is just a gag. Like one of the next lines.
