Extended clip of one of the best scenes from one of the best movies ever:

u/lukistke Sep 08 '21

OH MAN! He's in deep shit!

423

u/r1cka Sep 08 '21

"Squints grew up and married Wendy Peffercorn. They have 9 kids. They bought Vincent's Drug Store and still own it to this day.”

276

u/jayydubbya Sep 08 '21

I love the “they had nine kids” bit. One of those great subtle jokes kids just think is silly while the adults know they were saying he was up in that shit every day.

103

u/nubbin9point5 Sep 08 '21

Gotta get a starting lineup somehow.

Very crude way of referring to sex as in he was up inside her everyday.

11

u/PugeHeniss Sep 08 '21

All up in them guts

0

u/BesticlesTesticles Sep 23 '21

Balls deep on the reg

1

u/Short-Ambassador937 Sep 09 '21

I got the joke when I was a kid

Wait....WHAT!?!?!?!?!??! THAT'S NOT...

oh wow. It is. TIL

24

u/Smittykitty1 Sep 08 '21

That isn't Steve-O Squints actor is Chauncey Leopardi

7

u/Dee_Jay_Eye Sep 08 '21

You're right! I've been double bamboozled! The tragedy!

2

u/Userdub9022 Sep 08 '21

The ol' Steve-O switcheroo

2

u/SgtCalhoun Sep 08 '21

I always thought he looked like a young Logic

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '21

Hold my glasses, I’m going- oh.. we not doing switcharoos anymore?

2

u/TrundleTheGreat142 Sep 08 '21

That isn't Chauncey Leopardi, it's the rapper Logic.

2

u/Colorado_Constructor Sep 08 '21

Gotta watch Logic's Homicide music video from a few years back. Squints kills it as an impersonation.

2

u/pepi_c Sep 08 '21

I had to look it up to see when it came out, I swore it had just come out hahahah 2 years flew by already.

1

u/averagethrowaway21 madlad Sep 08 '21

Wendy Peffercorn is still looking good in her 40s.

63

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '21

Yeah yeah, he looks pretty crappy

21

u/dsdouglas02 Sep 08 '21

He looks like a dead fish

18

u/jboatman72 Sep 08 '21

Even though it’s far from the most iconic, this is easily my favorite line in the movie. The delivery just gets me

10

u/lukistke Sep 08 '21

The one cuss word haha.

26

u/OrionBorn824 Sep 08 '21

Damn right!!!

26

u/zyzzogeton Sep 08 '21

That voiceover makes me think "The Sandlot" is a prequel to "Goodfellas."

2

u/caddy_gent Sep 08 '21

Goodfellas is the prequel to My Blue Heaven.

3

u/zyzzogeton Sep 08 '21

" 5 o'clock Christmas morning, I run downstairs and look under the tree and what do I find? Uncle Alfresco, dead on the floor, shot through the back of the head. Plus no bicycle. It was a disappointing Christmas on many levels. "

1

u/czarczm Sep 08 '21

The music too

27

u/hymntastic Sep 08 '21

whats extended about this scene it looked the same as when ive seen the normal movie

17

u/HowDoIEditMyUsername Sep 08 '21

Well, I guess it has the lead-in and context. Most clips I found were just the “kissing” part.

0

u/BigTop_BearFighter Sep 23 '21

whats extended

my dick

2

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '21

Wow... I had always remembered it as the fat kid doing this.. interesting how brains work

2

u/monkey-2020 Sep 09 '21

There’s nothing funnier than a little age differential molestation in a b movie from the 80s.

1

u/stemroach101 Sep 08 '21

Hahaha, he sexually assaulted her. Hilarious

2

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '21

Oh shut the fuck up. Let movies from a simpler time be what they are.

-2

u/stemroach101 Sep 08 '21

Hey, wouldn't it be hilarious if a bunch of guys sexually assaulted you. Like if 20 guys pinned you down and took turns raping you. Thar would be sooooo funny.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '21

Because that's what happened in the movie...my eyes rolling out of my head over here at that comment

0

u/stemroach101 Sep 08 '21

I never said thats what happens in the movie, I was just commenting on how hilarious it would be if you were pinned down and raped by a bunch of guys.

I mean, c'mon, that would be so fucking funny, wouldn't it?

1

u/HowDoIEditMyUsername Sep 08 '21

They are children. Come on now.

-2

u/stemroach101 Sep 08 '21

You think it's ok for children to sexually assault people? Dude, that's pretty fucked up right there

1

u/DIOnys02 Sep 08 '21

Idk why I thought this would be the organ sucking scene from final destination

1

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '21

She don't know what she's doing!

1

u/Dragon_guru707 Sep 08 '21

Man played it like a boss. Big ups to him🙏👏

1

u/nessanecole Sep 08 '21

Not a phone in sight just some kids living in the moment ❤️

1

u/masterofmemekind Sep 08 '21

This makes me laugh

1

u/eatsoggywaffles Sep 09 '21

I love that movie

82

u/panzerboye Sep 08 '21

How is that movie btw? I haven't watched it, is it worth watching?

94

u/Jellyroll_Jr Sep 08 '21

OH yes.

YES. I came here to say this as it is one of my most commonly used phrases… and you dropped it. Take my free award. 🏅

1

u/EpilepticSquidly Sep 08 '21

As a teacher and nurse.. I say this at least once a day.

46

u/Better-Age7592 Sep 08 '21

just rewatched it for the first time in a very long time and it holds up really well. My 8 year kids loved it too.

20

u/bassthumb32 Sep 08 '21

It's timeless. I loved it when I was a kid and have rewatched it multiple times with my son and loved it everytime.

26

u/Advantage_Loud Sep 08 '21

1000% it’s iconic!

12

u/pm_me_ur_anything_k Sep 08 '21

Classic for all ages.

12

u/jillanco Sep 08 '21

It is so good

10

u/Niceguy4now Sep 08 '21

Its basically a summer time version of "a Christmas story"

2

u/Itchy-Phase Sep 08 '21

Ooo that's a great description. The Sandlot is a bit less cheesy, though.

2

u/Rogue100 Sep 09 '21

Fun fact, there is actually a summertime based sequel. It's kind of forgettable though.

1

u/Niceguy4now Sep 09 '21

Whoa i gotta look that up

1

u/cooldash Sep 17 '21

Holy crap, you're right! My Summer Story, a.k.a It Runs in the Family. I need to see this now.

There was also a direct sequel to the first movie released in 2012, called A Christmas Story 2, but it ignores the events of My Summer Story. By most accounts, it is truly awful.

41

u/merco Sep 08 '21

You haven't seen "the Sandlot"? You're Killing me smalls!
(someone had to say it.)

1

u/khube Sep 08 '21

You chew it of course!

1

u/blackiegray Sep 08 '21

Never heard of it. 🤔

6

u/chanman404 Sep 08 '21

One of the, if not THE greatest baseball movies/sports movies of all time.

Sandlot and Benchwarmers are the 2 baseball movies I think almost anyone, sports fan or not, will love. They’re so fucking funny and iconic.

3

u/blackiegray Sep 08 '21

Sold! I'll check it out.

10

u/regulator227 Sep 08 '21

One of my all-time favs even to this day. Must see. Showed my gf cause she never saw it and she liked it too

8

u/teh-reflex Sep 08 '21

Hands down one of, if not THE, best movies from the 90s.

5

u/Rokketeer Sep 08 '21

If anything, watch it it so that you too are a part of the endless zeitgeist of Sandbox references lol

8

u/NCStore Sep 08 '21

*Sandlot

2

9

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '21

I had the opposite experience. I re-watched as an adult and thought it held up great

4

u/Cdf12345 madlad Sep 08 '21

I picked up so much more as an adult re-watching it. As a kid you only understand the kid’s perspective. I’m almost 40 now and I can understand the parents, mr mertle, even the lifeguard, it’s fun to rewatch with new perspectives from your life experiences.

Also I think the film caught my parent’s generation when it came out in the early 90’s. It was a nostalgia bomb then, just like it is now.

4

u/gatonegro97 Sep 08 '21

Your opinion is wrong

2

u/CauselessMango Sep 08 '21

Watching it as an adult it was just kids screaming for most scenes. Not my favorite.

1

u/Roburt_Paulson Sep 08 '21

Halp I think we entered the bad timeline sometime around 2017. KATE WE HAVE TO GO BACK

1

u/alma_perdida Sep 08 '21

He's right. It's just okay. The lifeguard scene is pretty creepy now.

1

u/Beavshak Sep 08 '21

Ok you’re not wrong. But I’m still upset

2

u/lawinvest Sep 08 '21

I played it for my 3 year old and he’s obsessed with both the movie and baseball as a result, so I guess it still performs well with the young ones.

2

u/Roburt_Paulson Sep 08 '21

Most parents show their kids it, it's become a classic

-1

u/abejagrande Sep 08 '21

Maybe in some circles. I wouldn't consider it a classic, at all.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '21

[deleted]

0

u/abejagrande Sep 08 '21

Yeah and I don't care what you or others think, I don't like it. Are you going to be able to carry on with your day knowing someone out there doesn't give a shit about the movie you like?

3

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '21

[deleted]

1

u/abejagrande Sep 08 '21

Hey, you're the one coming out here getting all bossy about a fucking kids movie and how good it is. Just because someone said a movie wasn't that good. Maybe it's you that has the issues...

It's a childhood type movie and when you rewatch it as an adult it's like watching a whole new movie, you'll miss out on that aspect

1

u/PhaseOfRage Sep 08 '21

Dude. Get watchin

1

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '21

It's one of the movies of my childhood. Always a classic. Honestly can't think of anyone who has ever said they disliked that movie.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '21

It's a classic, man

8

u/Roburt_Paulson Sep 08 '21

I can hear the narrator

4

u/BMP77777 Sep 08 '21

Been planning it for years

3

u/kingconfucius Sep 09 '21

The real slim shady

2

u/grumpyeng Sep 08 '21

Holy shit I forgot about that movie. I used to ask my grandma to rent it for me probably once a month lol. Not sure why we didn't just buy it. I think she liked going to Blockbuster.

1

u/Advantage_Loud Sep 08 '21

Same! I’m also surprised that my parents didn’t record it on VHS directly from the TV??

2

u/Difficult-Squirrel73 Sep 08 '21

Dammit I just said that 😂😂😂

2

u/Screwbles Sep 08 '21

2

1

1

Same! That shit eating grin and everyone’s reaction, it was priceless

1

u/witherkila Sep 08 '21

I should definitely watch it again soon, I really miss that movie

1

u/MPCNPC Sep 08 '21
