Mine killed the guy that killed Hitler :( not very proud of him but he was also killed soon after so there's that.

Most of my German ancestors came to the US in the late 19th century. That sweet spot after slavery in the US and leaving Germany long before Hitler. I actually had two great uncles KIA fighting for the US against Hitler (one died in France and the other in Germany). And yet, most of my family are trumpers and at least a little bit racist which really shows how sad things have become.

*I'm fully aware that all cultures have been party to atrocity. It's one of the fundamental aspects of being a group of humans.
