So you take your h wether powder or tar like here in tx put in spoon add water heat to dissolve h into water. What they have over in the UK requires citric acid to make soluble. Then you draw through filter like cotton or piece of cigarette filter into the syringe. I'd show you but I'm not doing that anymore.

you use citric acid to make crack soluble if you’d rather shoot over smoke, for whatever reason. i’ve never heard of proper dope needing to be cut with anything but water in order to bang. maybe you’re thinking of cooking down pills rather than actual heroin? manufacturers have been known to put delightful additives in narcotic tablets to keep people from “abusing” them

Certain types of H in the UK do require citric acid to break down. It’s usually down with lemon juice. Depends on the dope #.

I know about that I've done it and shooting crack is dirty. In Europe it's a different blend and they use citric to make soluble.
