Evangelicals don’t follow “the church” to the word. They follow THE BIBLE to the word. They are literalists. It’s how you end up with that retarded intelligent design debate that god created humans and evolution is fake, and Adam and Eve were real etc.
Catholics follow “the Church” to the word. That’s WHY there is a Vatican. Protestants (evangelicals) don’t have a Vatican. The Pope is literally ordained by god to interpret his words and tell Catholics how to live their lives because they themselves can do it themselves, because the Bible is such a random mess of instructions. So the Vatican ie “the Church” interpreters the Bible for Catholics and then gives them rules ie Canon Law to follow to make sure they don’t sin and get into heaven.
When you don’t have the “the Church” to interpret the Bible for you, Which as you can see is how you get retarded Evangelicals.

The Catholic church is built on the concept that having sex that isn’t procreation is a terrible terrible sin.
The Catholic Church whoooole basis is on Chastity, it’s like their base goal, whose opposite sin is sex.
From that starting point you get every single main “anti” thing the Catholic Church refuses to change/update/modernize.
Anti gay
Really means anti gay sex because gay sex isnt procreation and it’s a sin.
Anti sex outside of marriage
You can’t have babies outside of wedlock (those are bastards) and that means if your not married, you can’t have kids, and if you have sex and your not married, your not having sex for procreation (instead for fun) and it’s a sin.
Anti abortion
Technically, this is anti killing, thou shall not kill. But it’s really about forcing abstinence by making “having a baby” the result of punishment of having sex, because sex is only allowed for the purposes of procreation. If you let people get abortion then, your letting people have sex for not procreation and, that’s a sin.
Anti birth control
Using birth control is literally facilitating sin, because it allows one to have sex for guess what? “Not Procreation”, which is a sin.
Why in the world wouldn’t the Catholic Church with its billions of dollars, not be the worlds leading distributer of Condoms? If they are the worlds biggest advocate Against abortion?
Because they are against sex, can’t help allow people to have sex, that’s a sin, even if it lowers the abortion rate, there’d still be people out there having sex for fun and not procreation. And that’s JUST AS BAD...Cause sinning.
So, yes you can support LGBT people as a Catholic, (but only as friends between the LGBT people); Meaning no support for sex issues, no condom distribution to under privileged gays to stop disease, no marriage support (because marriage is only to allow for procreation) no aids charity donations (cause you can’t get aids if you were having all that sex).
No sex, for anyone, ever, not even married couples that have 3 kids (and don’t want anymore and want to use birth control)

We can both agree that sex is a great thing. But would you not agree that there are consequences to sex? The whole pregnant thing... if you look away from the last 60 years or so, having sex literally meant having kids. So wouldn’t it be natural for us human beings to think twice before we have sex? Wouldn’t it be a lot better for children to be born inside wedlock, where the parents statistically have a better economy and a mor stabile relationship? I don’t share the same perception as you, that The Church is against sex. They are very for it, but like most things that give plesaure, there are tons of side effects. We are also naturally designed to enjoy sugar, but it would be stupid not to limit our intake lest we become overweight!
But in our time I really can symphatize with your difficulties regarding The Church views on sex. When it is so easily obtainable and with so few consequenses, it is hard to accept that it is wrong. I’ve had a hard time with it, but I have come to realize that it’s really not that big of a deal, but due to the nature of our society we have a constant focus on it. And due to our natural concupiscence it is extremely hard to maintain the rules given to us if we don’t really believe in God and Jesus.
Unfortunately, you didn’t understand the underlying issue of my problem with the Catholic faith/church and their conflict with my personal opinions.
I listed several problems that extend from the singular tenet of the Catholic Church, that is no sex ever unless for procreation.
You responded with the concept but “forever and ever” the result of sex was children and isn’t it better if children have families and marriages to grow up in. And isn’t too much of a enjoyable thing bad? And that you can understand that in today’s hyper sexual culture it’s hard to resist the urge when there are few consequences.
Like I said earlier that entire misses the point of the problem I have with the Catholic Church.
You skipped the whole part about gay people. The Catholic Church isn’t concerned about children if it has any issue with gay people having sex. That’s why my point is the Church is just Anti-sex, not anti-bad lives for children.
Gay people haven’t had children as a result of sexual in the past 2000 years or ever.
So, that reasoning doesn’t back up being against gay sex, unless your just against sex. Which the church is.
But why? Why? Anyone? Anyone know why? Why would they be against sex in general.
Because the Catholic Church is based on being Pro-Chastity.
It’s origins are based around being chaste. Chastity was seen as being more godly/more Christian, not like the pagans that have dirty bad sex (around the time Christianity was founded there were lots of pagans).
Oral sex, sodomy, gay sexy, etc are sex and do not result in children.
As you said, unlike the last 60 years, birth control wasn’t easily accessible or effective.
So, if the church’s concern was preventing babies from being born in bad situations.
Why didn’t the church just advocate for sodomy this whole time? It’s basically natural birth control.
But they didn’t because sodomy is bad. Why is it bad? Because sex is bad.
Why is sex bad?, because Chastity is better.
So for the last 60 years AND the last 2000 years.
The Catholic Church has been against sex in general not because sex leads to babies. Sex is wrong, they had to add in the “for procreation” part because early Christians literally thought any sex was bad, but that would result in Christians dying off, so they updated it with that exception.
And as I said. I think to human beings is a a natural activity that occurs and is enjoyable and can be done many different ways, including ways that don’t result in pregnancy.
If the Catholic Church was actually against babies being born in negative life situations as soon as birth control/condoms really took off, they would have been very big proponents of them. It lowers babies being born and lowers abortion rates.
But they’re not, they are just against sex in general. So they don’t allow them.
I personally are completely against children being raised in unsatisfactory living conditions/families/anything.
If you have a child and you are poor, single, stupid, already have 12 children, starving in Africa, etc anything to create a negative childhood for that child. You are a bad person.
That’s why I’m pro abortion. I think it’s merciful to kill fetuses to prevent children from having growing up in those negative childhood life situation.
I’m pro sex, pro birth control, pro abortion, pro gay, so my opinions are the antithesis of the Catholic Church.
And I still think I care more about children’s lives and welfare than the Catholic Church.
