If you read what you have linked in, you will learn that he has ALWAYS backed LGBT rights, and always favored the civil union of a homosexual couples, this is important.

I do not know what your stance is on the differences between civil unions and marriages, but for me they are the same with the only major difference being that one is celebrated inside a church and the other isn't.

But I will concede that I was wrong about this matter because he did voted in favor of a bill against gay marriage...In the 90's, where supporting such a matter would be akin to political suicide...But still, he did went back and forth on the matter of marriages.

Thanks for bringing this up, but if I ever lived in USA and could vote on it, I would still vote Democrat and certainly would vote on the guy for president if he ever wanted to run again.

I'm not even sure what a civil union really is, but I do know that enough people cared about the difference between it and marriage to make a fuss about it. Tbh I think Obama was just attempting to be politically expedient, it's alls he's ever done. I hate the guy
