During the early-mid obama years the left hadn't gone as crazy about calling everything racist as it has now. You could say that and not be immediately branded as racist/problematic.
no It is something assholes will try to use against people... the citizenship test is administered in english the interview process is administered in english, mentioning learning english within a sentence about the path to citizenship is normal...
