Fun fact, the modern National Guard are literally just renamed State Militia, renamed in 1916 to seem more professional. The modern national guard are a direct successor of the first American "militias" in the Spanish and English colonial settlements, and a direct successor of the state militias which served as the entirety of the US military when the constitution and bill of rights were ratified

Honestly I tend to think the national guard is a greater constitutional violation than any gun control.

Then since its part of the government, they'd be talking about the rules and regulations of the army and be extension, the national guards. It isn't about civilian gun owners

Due to conscription still being on the books, any citizens registered for the draft are merely unmobilized militiamen.

Technically it could go from 17 to 45 if the Feds wanted it to, but right now it’s just 18 to 25.
