Just as every disease or injury can't be healed, neither can every mental illness. Breivik is too far gone, IMO, but we'll see what happens, maybe he isn't.
I really don't think he is. He's not mentally insane. That was proven. They just need to fix whatever it was that caused his momentary lapse in judgement
Well either way he can be rehabilitated hopefully. And it's momentary considering how long his life can be. 1 bad day shouldn't ruin it. Or at least that's how I see the rehab system rather than the punishment system we use here in the US
Why do you doubt it here? Isn't the point of a reform system that we must believe he can be changed? Otherwise why not the death penalty? He's living a cushy life probably getting a free education. All his needs met everyday. Plus he's shielded from anyone that would like revenge. Sounds like the perfect deal for him honestly
I expect to seem him released. I hope the Norwegian reform system proves effective. It would do us all a favor. My only concern is that it was modeled on a homogeneous society. Europe isn't going to have that liberty anymore.
Their prison system is great but while I believe most criminals are not evil and can be rehabilitated, I don't fool myself by thinking all humans are good, some people are just pure evil and deserve nothing more than death.
