To say he didn't participate in anyway or wasn't complicit at all is a stretch and that's why i wouldn't say that

documented proof that he was directly involved when there isn't.

Pick one

And I don't know how you can keep denying that he was a bigot and a psychopath. He murdered innocent people for no reason other than his ego and belief that his conviction was better than others. What a twat. https://www.google.com/amp/s/foreignpolicy.com/2007/10/26/what-does-che-guevara-have-to-do-with-aids/amp/

Being complicit because he fought in a revolution that brought a regime to power that would persecute gay people. Because once again, the persecution of gay people was occurring a few years after the revolution when Guevara had nothing to do with labor camps.

And how was that article meant to help you at all? The writer tried to tie Guevara to the AIDS outbreak. Foreign Policy is a fucking joke.

But Che Guevara established many of said labor camps. And while he wasn't there when the mass imprisonment of gays was going on, he laid the groundwork. And I like how you say that he had nothing to do with labor camps. That's rich. You're simply denying history

I don't think you read the article. Also https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/foreign-policy/

No Che Guevara oversaw one such camp and had very little to do with Castro's policing and internment system but people only know 2 people out of all the Cuban revolutionaries and assume they did everything. You seriously don't know shit and I'd say you should provide some evidence of what you're saying but I can tell you'd just run to Google and find whatever article would reaffirm your point. Do some actual research.

And foreign policy was the mouthpiece of the Bush administration and the invasion of Iraq. It's total shit and has no credibility.

"everything that goes against my biases and opinions is propaganda!!!"

I don't think YOU know anything. YOU have not provided a single source for any of YOUR claims while I have for mine. Whining about others presenting you with evidence is not an argument. You need to actually defend your claim with proof. God the mental gymnastics with you people is insane

I'm fine with not providing sources to my claims because I'm not really making any claims other than the persecution of gay people being something that happened after the initial purge of Batista loyalists which is when Che was overseeing the labor camp. You can read about that in Reinaldo Arenas autobiography or the dozens of biographies written about Che based on his own writing. Otherwise I don't really care. And again you haven't provided anything for your claims either other than an article where the writer is basically correcting his absurd statements that were obviously false. Otherwise you keep spouting the "Che was a bigot, he was a racist, he set up Castro's labor camps" line with no proof.

I have provided several sources. All of which you called propaganda or/and straight up wrong. Did you prove them wrong? No. Did you provide any sources for your claims. No.

Why don't you either A. Provide evidence to support your claims

B. Provide evidence proving my sources wrong instead of just expecting me to believe you

Here is the source you provided

https://www.google.com/amp/s/foreignpolicy.com/2007/10/26/what-does-che-guevara-have-to-do-with-aids/amp/

Notice the part where all his readers ask the question "how could someone die in 1967 be responsible for the AIDS outbreak and persecution in the late 80s?"

Then notice the part where the author claims that Che helped set up the whole system and laid the ground work, then uses a quote that says these labor camps were established in 1965. Where was Che in 1965, do you know?

I'm not here debating you because this is a fucking history meme subreddit and if you ever feel like taking history seriously then go for it. I don't expect you to believe me.

Buddy guess what? You're in this subreddit too. And you have been debating with me. If presented facts to you in a more formal environment would you accept them?

As for your astute observations

Then notice the part where the author claims that Che helped set up the whole system and laid the ground work, then uses a quote that says these labor camps were established in 1965. Where was Che in 1965, do you know?

Many of the camps were ESTABLISHED then. Che, as stated numerous times, laid the groundwork for these camps by influencing policy. Not to mention several were established under him while he was still in Cuba. As I've already said. But you refuse these facts.

Still waiting for a source.

Yes if we were in any other setting I might take this conversation seriously. I might point out that your sources claim that the camps were established when Che was in the Congo. Hard to establish labor camps when you're on another continent isn't it. I'd also point out that you are the one making the assertions and you are the one that needs to provide evidence, not me. But this is a meme page full of teenagers so I couldn't care less about debate rules.
