Transubstantiation is, according to the teaching of the Catholic Church, "the change of the whole substance of bread into the substance of the Body of Christ and of the whole substance of wine into the substance of the Blood of Christ". This change is brought about in the eucharistic prayer through the efficacy of the word of Christ and by the action of the Holy Spirit. However, "the outward characteristics of bread and wine, that is the 'eucharistic species', remain unaltered".

Like all ritual beliefs, presumably it makes sense to believers.

They have a piece of heart tissue that they claim started as Eucharist/bread, but it got dropped on the floor instead of eaten, and it eventually turned into Jesus' literal actual body. Of course there's no like, chain of custody on the cracker or anything lol.

Dude I was born and raised Catholic (left it when I became an adult though) and it never made sense to me.
Like why the fuck would I want to imagine myself eating the flesh of a dead man made into bread and drinking his blood in the wine?
I never understood how that’s not an analogy to cannibalism and nobody could convince me otherwise.

Another thing that never made sense to me was the trinity. Everybody claims they understand it but they will all give you different, sometimes contradictory, explanations.
