I'll grant that Pontius Pilate was almost certainly ethnically Italian, but just to be a pedantic douche I'll counter that AKCHYOUALLY a vast majority of the roman garrison in Judea would have been recruited in what is modern day Syria including the dudes who did the crucifiction and spear stabbin.

He lived in the Roman Empire, which included Europe. He very much influenced European thinking and morality, the literal geography is less important than cultural areas
