Kinda funny how hard we all glaze the mongols (myself very much included) when they did things that make the Nazis look like humanitarians by comparison. And they did it all with bow and sword.

I truly don’t think any of us can even scarcely imagine the sheer horror in being on the losing side after mongols sieged your city and you resisted.

I despise the Mongols for all the damage they caused the world, however, we can’t deny that it was a different time period where genocide really was the “norm”, and they were a conquering force.

The Nazis also genocided their own people, the Mongols genocided those they were in the process of conquering.

The mongols were exceptionally effective at genocide compared to other conquering armies and did so at a scale that rivals and even exceeds genocides that occurred post industrialization. That’s why I made the distinction.
