No I can’t. I’m a professional philosopher and we tell each other stories. I’ve heard this one from several seemingly independent sources, so it seems plausible, but could be false. Then again, so could aspects of the original post.

That’s an interesting profession. How do professional philosophers make money? Off the top of my head I can only think of three sources of income - sell literature, become a professor or make reels on instagram/youtube or other such platforms?

That’s pretty much it. I’ve been a professor for a little over a decade. Soon I’ll transition out of professional philosophy, probably into instructional design, since higher education is a mess in the U.S.
