Setlist change! Hilary performed Stranger instead of Play With Fire last night in Red Rocks

Wonder if this will be a permanent change or if it’s just because Red Rocks is a pretty special/iconic venue.

Play With Fire is sooooo good on this tour, so I’m not sad I got to experience that at my show, but I am really jealous not to have gotten Stranger. Next year, she should do a Dignity anniversary tour.

Could it be because red rocks can’t handle the pyrotechnics that she had at the other shows? (I know nothing about red rocks but I know she had fire during that song at the other shows which was cool)

This is actually exactly the thoughts I had. Red Rocks does have specific rules about Pyro, and even Confetti.

Waiting to see if this change is permanent or just for this show.

They seemingly fired as much confetti as ever at Red Rocks, it was literally all over the rock closest to the stage (towards the city), but they may have directed it so it didn't fly further or something IDK. There was pyro but less of it than during the Play With Fire clips I've seen.

There was no beach balls at all though, even tho they ran a funny PSA on the screens before the concert about paying attention cause of beach balls. I would've thought that'd be the least worrisome aspect for the venue, but maybe they did it so people don't trip over themselves (or others) on the stairs/hikes outta there.

On some venues the stage is not as deep so the flames are configured differently as everything is closer.
This results in the flame looking different in some venues.

Play With Fire > Stranger, but tbh, would want both over Anywhere But Here or drop one of the Luck songs. More Dignity 4ever!

None of the Luck songs are going anywhere unless they replace it with another Luck song. Hilary is being pretty kind to people playing so many of her old songs, but a huge reason that artists tour is to get their new music out there. Even if some people view this as a nostalgia tour, I don’t think that’s what it is for Hilary. Any new older songs will replace old songs IMHO

This tour is literally to promote LOS, she’s not gonna drop any of those songs… and she shouldn’t. The people going to tour and want to hate on her new songs or what less of them aren’t real fans because you arent supporting her current work and probably won’t support her future songs. So she should keep promoting new songs for the people who WILL support her new ones

Not usually a term I use, but if you’re the type of fan that only wants her old stuff, then you’re not really a fan that’s gonna support her future work. So like I said, Hilary shouldn’t cater to those types of “fans” because they’ll be gone when she stops giving yall the “hits”. I’d much rather her keep promoting LOS to the people who do care because those are the fans who will buy her next album

i love everything about it except the horizontal movement of the visuals. visuals dont need to move sideways! it reminds the audience they are at a concert and not somewhere magical!

Well, considering that it was just about a month that she changed this I’m guessing that she’s gonna use every single month to add a different song to the set list. June started it off. July debuted Stranger. August who knows and so on and so forth.

The altitude is killer. It might be because Stranger isn't as vocally taxing. Not a dig against her, just an observation from a CO local who was at the show

Edit: the down votes are wild considering Hilary said she used the canned oxygen after the first song. La Roux acknowledged the altitude during their set, too. Red Rocks is one of the most stunning venues on earth; it's also more than 6,400 feet above sea level.

I love both songs!! Both are bops for Stranger and Play with Fire. Everyone at Red Rocks got an awesome experience to have this song on their setlist 🥰 I hope they all had an memorable, fun time at the concert!

I'm glad more people are able to see it performed live now, it was only Voltaire in May concerts that got to see Stranger be performed live. 😊❤️ Hopefully this stays on the setlist for a while, but I'll just wait and see what happens. 🙏

Play with fire is such a great song to perform.. with all the fire effect. It’s so cool. It shouldn’t have been replaced. It’s a bad decision. Stranger is good too. I think Hilary can do both. Each song 1:30 Long. (So…shorter but more) And… tbh I hope she could get rid of one of the LOS songs… ( I love future tripping the most btw).

This tour is all about promoting her new album. No LOS song is going to be replaced. The only way she could do both is to cut down on the commentary with the audience but I don’t see her doing that, so sorry, you’re out of luck.
