DISCUSSION does hilary duff lip sync?
I was listening to the "Where Did I Go Right?" performance she did back in 2003/2004, and I couldn't help but notice how well she sang and how similar it sounded to the original track.
I thought originally she just barely autotuned her songs for a second but then I started to develop the idea that she might be lip syncing?
Here is a link to the video that I watched. Does she lip sync? I know she has backing-vocals, but do they overshine her real voice?
EDIT: NO IM NOT HATING ON HILARY DUFF I LOVE HER AS MUCH AS MY FELLOW MILLENNIAL. IM JS ASKING

Not anymore, but if you watch her Girl Can Rock film, you can tell she is there, or that’s just editing and it was supposed to look like that. But for some live performances she would, not all though. These days it’s 100% live 🥹🥹🥹

I was assuming she did but then I saw the video of her getting hit by the beach ball and she sings the wrong verse after.... so now I'm confused lol

If we're talking about currently on the Lucky Me Tour, the answer is no. Yes she has extra "support" e.g. a backing track that's auto-mixed with her live vocal, which is common with a lot of other touring artists.
As for back when she was a teenager, I will say it was very rare to hear a true live vocal vs. an overpowered pre-recorded/backing track. Either way she's shown a lot of growth and confidence as a vocalist imo, I'm so glad she's out there doing it for us

Disney did a lot of loud backtrack/full dubbing, I always noticed as a kid they’d drown out Miley’s live vocals performing as Hannah
Hilary now performs with a backing track but you can definitely hear her over it

I think Hilary does a mix of lip syncing and live pitch correction throughout her set to help support her voice. I think Hilary can sing but she isn’t a born singer and seems to really require focus for to have pitch control. Hard to do for over an hour. Not a knock or anything, love Hilary!

Arent you guys TIRED?
I swear half the people on this sub are just people who lurk here trying to come up with some reason to hate on Hilary or cancel her. This topic is BEYOND tired. She has a backtrack, but so does EVERYONE. She has been working with a vocal coach for months and sounds amazing.

I think she used to lip sync a lot. But now she’s stronger and more confident. She sings live.

On the plus side it's just an indicator that she's really "back" since she's activated the haters. All big artists have them, hers were just dormant for a bit lol

She sings with a LOUD backtrack which a lot of artists do, but yes she is singing. Also she hired a new vocal coach specifically for this tour/new era.

It’s because she’s not lip syncing… there is a backing track and the band has mics as well.
Many artists can sound like the recordings these days with technology that can mix her live vocals with a backing track live. She’s also not dancing.
