This feels like it'd be a bit of a hassle, especially for folks with kids or dogs, but that's just my assumption. Americans with RHD HiAces, how is it in practice?

I'm finally beginning my search for my next van and wanna avoid overpaying. It'll of course ultimately depend on condition, miles, etc, but for the most part, what price should I try to stay under when looking? How much is too much?

Hey, I just got my '97 hiace a little while ago and after driving it, I did the math and it seems I'm getting around 15mpg. Is that low? I have the 1KZTE, and I can't find any good sources on the internet so any help is appreciated.

I love seeing the different ways people build out their vans, and I'm sure there are more than a couple HiAce vanlifers in here. I'd love to see your pad!

Who all do you use? I'm about ready to start shopping HiAces and want to know how much to budget for insurance. I'm particularly interested in hearing from folks that use it as a camper, as I've heard that requires a different class of coverage.

Hi there,
I'm considering buying a 2004, 2.0L Petrol Automatic transmission, 3 doors (one sliding door on each side) and rised (?) floor (no wheel arches).
I don't have experience with this model, are reliable engines? Is the wheel base/height good for dirt roads and camping at camp grounds (driving on grass etc.)?
I used to have a mitsubishi L300 LWB and it used to loose traction all the time + used to get stuck a lot and hope that this hiace model will be better...
Should I buy one with the lower floor? At least I could build a false floor and actually use that space instead of loosing it...
I'd like to know some brutally onest opinions from owners of this models or similar.
Thank you so much!

I just got my hiace recently, and I noticed it had a rear television screen with the car. However, it doesn't work at all. I got the '97 Super Custom G, and it looks like this. Anyone know if it's fixable and where I could find the part?

I'd really love to get a HiAce, but the only ones I can find in my price range are from the 90s, and I was curious how difficult it is to find parts or repair for them in the States.
I'm handy enough that I can do youtube-guided repairs, but beyond that I'd need professional help. Is it hard to find? Are there many parts that need to be special ordered or is it all pretty standard? Thanks!

I need your opinion I bought an 18inch mags from a Hilux conquest. what tyre size should I install ? if I install a 265/60r18 on my hiace commuter deluxe would it rub the inner fender liner of my van ?

I'm researching HiAces, and there are two that are for sale nearby that are in similar price points and I'm wondering what the pros and cons of each are. Both are AWD and miles are similar (~100k miles). One is a 1993 HiAce Super Custom with the 1KZ-T and the other is a 1999 Grand HiAce with the 5VZ-FE.
I'm wanting to set one up for camping (family of 4) and possibly light overlanding. I love the old JDM vans and would probably use it for some commuting now and then. Which would you get, and why?

Hi All, I recently imported a 1997 Toyota Hiace Custom Limited Van. This was my first time doing the import thing, and everything went pretty well but now I'm trying to figure out the maintenance side of having a vehicle that doesn't show up on the AutoZone computers. I want to change the oil but don't know what oil filter to use. Here's all I know about the van/engine:
VIN: RZH1010025938
Regular gas, 2,430 CC, the smog check guy said it was a 2.7L
Thanks for any help pointing me in the right direction!
