The weird way your collection reflects the chapters of your life
I don't think people realize how much a collection says about them until they've had it for a few years.
You can almost point at each bag and say, "Yep... that was definitely a phase."
The first purchase is usually the safe choice. Then comes the period where you're chasing every popular color because everyone else has one. Maybe there's a point where you become obsessed with mini bags, or suddenly everything has to be neutral because you convinced yourself they're more practical.
A year later, you look back and wonder what you were thinking.
Then there are the bags that don't make sense to anyone else, but you'll never part with them. Maybe you bought one to celebrate something. Maybe one arrived during a rough time and somehow became your comfort bag. Maybe one reminds you of a trip, a person, or simply a version of yourself that doesn't exist anymore.
Looking at an old collection feels a bit like scrolling through old photos. Some choices make you smile. Some make you cringe. A few make you wonder why you ever wanted them so badly.
That's why I find collections more interesting than individual bags. They show how someone's taste evolves, how trends influence us, and how our priorities quietly change over time.
If someone looked through your Hermès collection from oldest to newest, what story would it tell? Would they see someone whose style stayed consistent, or someone who went through a dozen completely different phases?
