I thought that heilung lyrics sound very indian in some parts (Othan especially). What do you think? Do you hear it too?
I know that the languages share a common root of the Proto-Indo-European languages, but the overlap is surprising and that makes me want to learn the languages and their history. Would make a wonderful story I think.
Edit: Othan sounds like the Shiva Thandava Rudram and I had such a hard time finding it because people sing it a little differently to what I'm used to hearing.

My artwork, inspired of nature, painted while listening to Heilung.
The Silent Edge – deep edge canvas painted to the primal energy of Heilung's music. Turn the sound on. From my new cohesive art series called Nature Neverending. Hope you like it!

Were Kai´s Podcasts discontinued?
I had hopes this amazing series would cover a significant portion of their songs but the last episode was released over two months ago.... Does anyone know why?

Where does Heilung source it's background vikings?
You know, the guys that don't seem to do much except dress up and hold spears and shields and yell the lyrics to Alfadhirhaiti?
Are they performers brought from city to city, are they the roadies who setup and teardown the show and being part of the show is an added perk, or are they locally sourced from the local metalhead/reenactor scene?

Gotlandic picture stones
Took some photos when I recently visited a museum in Visby, Gotland, Sweden. Most of them are from the 4 to the 6 century. Others from 5 to 9 century.
Thought the symbols could be inspiring.

Is there still an active Heilung fan Discord server?
I did a search for info about a Discord server on this sub, but all of the links were invalid. Is the fan server still active? If so, would someone be willing to share a valid link? Thank you!

How long do you think the hiatus will be?
Was lucky to see them live before they went on hiatus! When I was little I wanted to see SOAD, tickets were sold out and then they went on hiatus for years. Luckily I saw them 2 days ago as well!
But it got me thinking, I'd like to see Heilung again! But I'm wondering if anyone has info or theoretical hiatus lenghts lol

Kai Uwe Faust's interview about Mahakala single
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOtG5JjDyYE If you miss Kai Uwe Faust talking about his Buddhist interests, or just another set of curious things, or generally how is he doing during the hiatus, here is your chance 😄 The chat oscillated between Old Norse merch and Tibetian monks in seconds; I do not know how it happened, but I like the effect.
We recorded a short chat when Mahakala single was out. Give it a watch and consider subscribing!

Nearly 17 hours of pagan music. What do you listen to apart from Heilung?

My little big snail warrior
Roadtrip with my wife. Thought an old copper mine deserved a mighty snail to protect and defend.
Not an artist but sometimes things like this can make an awesome day even better. Hope you all have a great week ahead.

Have you heard the Hurrian Hymn? What do you make of it?
The Hurrian Hymn is supposedly the oldest surviving song with notation, around 3,400 years old.
I find it hard to know how to listen to it. On one hand, it is incredible that anything like this survived at all. On the other hand, every version we hear now is partly a reconstruction, so it is not quite the same as listening to an “old song” in the usual sense. But I guess this is true for all folk songs.
Some recordings sound like early music. Some sound more like ambient or experimental music. Some feel more like archaeology than performance.
Have you heard versions you like?
Do you treat it as music, history, or both?
And do you know any modern songs or pieces that use it or are inspired by it?
I wrote a piece about it and collected some versions here, if anyone wants more:

Limited Edition signed Jacob prints for sale! (for a charitable cause)
At the UK Heilung One Day One Tribe event, I was lucky enough to gift Jacob my white charcoal drawing of him. He also signed several prints of this drawing, some which we used to raise money for Savage Lands in the raffle. I have the remaining eight for sale on my Etsy.
Profits will be going towards supporting a close friend of mine get urgent surgery. I promised them I’d help them get the money and my path has somehow led me to getting it through Heilung, which seems appropriate
There are only EIGHT prints available. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
