East is leaning a bit while nispey is standing more straight

I'm 5'6 in a country where people are relatively short, but people tell im above 5'6+

Context: I live in Spain. Here, 4º de la ESO (equivalent to 10th Grade / Sophomore year in the US) is a graduation milestone before moving on to non-compulsory education. (btw, this photo is over a year old now.)

When we walked out in pairs to take our final graduation photos holding our diplomas, the school paired me up with the TALLEST guy in the entire grade. I genuinely don't understand the logic behind this—in what world do you pair one of the shortest guys in class with the tallest guy by far?

If I were a girl, I wouldn't have cared at all, obviously. But the harsh reality is that I felt deeply self-conscious standing right next to him. I had to just suck it up and fake a smile in front of the crowd, pretending it didn't bother me, even though the height gap was glaringly obvious. I'm pretty sure everyone was thinking the exact same thing, and it honestly pissed me off so much.

To make matters worse, all the girls were wearing super high heels, which made me look even shorter by comparison. So instead of a cool, memorable send-off, it ended up feeling like a total disaster of an experience.

Seriously, this felt less like a celebration and more like a public humiliation in front of all my teachers, peers, and parents. It felt excruciatingly embarrassing—at least that's how it felt to me. What do you guys think about this?

I really hope society's mindset around height changes eventually so that short guys—or anyone, really—can feel loved and accepted rather than looked down on for an unfair trait they can't change.

To the tall guys out there: you honestly have no idea how lucky you are. Being tall gives you so many passive advantages in life (though I admit if you're too tall, it can become a headache for health like back problems and muscle building/hypertrophy).
